Nice review! I went blind in purchasing this tablet last year around Black Friday and have been happy with the performance so far. I mainly use it for email/documents and UA-cam. I have used it occasionally for light old school gaming like Bioshock 3 with no issues. The one issue I have with this tablet is the speakers. They could be louder and sound better but I have some bluetooth headphones that I use with the tablet. I often attach my 4k monitor to the micro hdmi port when I want to stream some videos. I had no idea that the type c ports supported video.
Thank you for covering linux support. I found your channel today by your gemmi pro book video as I'm trying to find a good emergency laptop to recommend my friend in Australia who's currently asleep
Looks like an "update" to my Chuwi Hi10Go (N4500/6GB RAM/100GB storage) that purchased a few years ago at a lower price too! It is a bit larger however (13" vs 10"). My Hi10 Go is still working, but a number of things about it that I hope don't plague the Hi10Max. 1. Battery had to be replaced (I purchased one from a 3rd party). 2. Keyboard with its pogo-style attachment failed (I replaced it with a small Arteck BT keyboard - no more wired connectors to worry about!). 3. The pen (in my case, it's recharged via USB) scratches the plastic screen protector - I replaced the screen protector with a 3rd party one, and then just removed it entirely. 4. Volume buttons stopped working properly - I just adjust the volume within Windows. 5. Non-standard USB-C charger that charges immediately at 12V. Ended up destroying a BT speaker that was accidentally plugged into the charger. 6. USB ports don't provide much power to external devices connected via USB.
This tablet is a dream come true for me. It perfectly fits my niche, especially it's Linux compatibility. But the battery life is 100% a deal breaker. I'm frequently working away from an outlet for more than 3 hours which makes this tablet useless to me. :( I'd pay $100 more for this tablet if it had reasonable battery life. I'm not even talking "all day" battery life...just enough to get an afternoon of work done. So it's a hard "no" for me even though I love the tablet.
Hi mate. I got this tabtop today and have tried factory resetting it and reinstalling windows as I was worried it might have some malware on it. I've reinstalled Windows but now it's saying no WiFi drivers found so I can't even get past the start up screen. I can't find the drivers anywhere online, or also can't find out what WiFi card it has to find out what driver I need. Could you have a look on the settings on yours please as I say I can't even get past start up so can't manually check what card it has. Thanks.
Great price and features! Problem is I've had 2 Chuwi n100 laptops that both failed in months. But maybe this is a better design. Thanks for the review! I'm looking for touch screens to run Home Assistant dashboards and for our Blue Iris video monitor.
Pity the back doesn't come off. When the battery goes, you can't replace it and may not be able to get to the storage and move it to something to copy it without possibly destroying the thing to get to them. I had a Chuwi tablet and the battery puffed up and destroyed the screen. Most likely user error as I had it on a stand and never turned it off. Power regulation should have taken care of that, but I doubt it did. I have not had a laptop yet that didn't need a battery.
This is impressive for the price. If my OnePlus Pad had a keyboard like that, it would be perfect. I'm not usually a fan of the N100, especially with only single channel memory, but it seems like it would get better battery life than 3-4 hours. It is very nice to see a windows tablet done right in this price range with a 3:2 aspect ratio. I may consider returning my Surface Pro 11 OLED with Snapdragon X Elite and replace it with this tablet instead for 1/4 of the price. All of my apps are accessed through RDP from my app server anyway, and I can game from my game streaming server, so the stepdown in performance wouldn't be that major --- but I would expect good battery life on an N100 no matter what the price. If this had a 120Hz option for an extra $100 or so, It'd be all over this though for sure!
I'd have bought this if it came equipped with either the N300 or N305. Shame they went with the N100. Should be great for school, especially for students who aren't 3D modeling, video editing(?) and other GPU intensive operations.
Well, the n100 is great, and works for even some basic blender modeling along with some animation. I personally use it for programming a 2d game, and playing older titles and it's shockingly stable. The N305 won't be any different other than the extra cores, the intel gpu in this gen is always 👎
Happy New Year Chris! I bought the Cube i7 styus based on your reviews and it was great until today. The Core M processor was sufficient for basic tasks and light gaming. What would you recommend for an upgrade in todays context?
I bought the tablet, beautiful, but I wanted to know if you also have a strange light effect around the screen in some places especially in the corners.. is it normal?
I still own the Cube Mix Plus which has Intel m3 (welp its already 6 years ago), and somehow it feels faster than this N100. Dunno why intel stopped developing m series in favor of this celeron-like :/
Yes, please always do handwriting or stylus test with your hand ON the screen to test for palm rejection. Nobody take notes with the hand floating over the screen.
Usual with Chuwi laptops for years is great displays and weak chipsets. However, this time around, there is no room for weak x86 consumer device because mobile apps have better support/development. In other words, I'd like Chuwi explore making Android devices.
I tried a chuwi ubook in early 2020 but it had some kind of major flaw where the kickstand wouldn't hold up the device. I didn't see anyone else with the same issue though so it was peculiar but I got it through Amazon so it was an easy return.. I ended up just settling on a surface pro for twice the money. This time I'm not sure what I'll do next. You can make an argument that something like this and a steam deck which combined would still be less than a surface pro without the keyboard, could be an option
I can see this as auxiliary/secondary portal device wirelessly connected to my home PC running the task from there but then again there are quite a lot of $180-200 decent android tablets
Apple M4 has single core score of almost 3800 on Geekbench 6 while N150 only achieves 1255. You will feel it when browsing the internet. I personally wouldn't get anything with an Atom processor in it
An AMD 5500u or 5560u CPU is only about $50 more, but performs about 3 times better in things like Passmark, and can actually game a little bit. I hope they're gonna upgrade this tablet to an AMD CPU, I'd gladly pay $100 more to get something that feels snappy and will have at least 2-3 more years of life in it. Would love a 120hz screen too.
I understand the single channel support for N100... what I don't understand is that they only applied 12GB of RAM. N100 supports up to 32GB of RAM... they should have placed AT LEAST 16GB of RAM in there for the same price.
@@DoodleDan No. You are right as N100 only supports 16GB RAM on a single channel. My mistake there. However, you're wrong that 16GB of RAM is only for Mini PCs or any plugged system.
Not bad on the surface. although shame about the speakers and I dislike the use of a non standard battery in the stylus. The real killer is that poor battery life though. I hope that the spreadsheet data that appeared to contain some potentially sensitive data about UK citizens is a mock up.
A N300/305 would have done a lot for this. I've used those before and they tackle way more than the N100 for only slightly more money. Was interested to get one of the Chuwis but at most they only offer N100 devices which is a shame.
Crippled by the N100 chip (this was diastrous in the Microsoft Go3...very slow) and Chuwi's unfortunate penchant for poor quality, especially bulging batteries. I have a Chuwi Mini-Book (disastrous release) and while mine is still functional, fully 50% of the initial release (part of an Indiegogo..kickstarter) failed with batteries bulging after a few months and other defects. I would never buy Chuwi again. BTW, there is another Surface alternative the Lenovo Ideapad Duet 5i, not really cheap but a complete solution (Keyboard and pen inlcuded) for the same price as a standalone Surface 11 tablet without accessories.
I always get excited about computers and tablets until I hear the nits of the display. After hearing most have 250-400, I usually check out. I am weird and love bright and vivid displays. It is a big reason why I stay with Apple and Samsung products. There is no reason why tablets should not be at least 500 nits in 2024.
There is no reason why tablets should not be at least 500 nits in 2024 - Yes I agree with this statement. My guess is they want more battery life so limited the screen brightness. It should also be a lot duller than it really is.
Battery life makes it extremely difficult to recommend. Otherwise, you are getting what you pay for. But most people will need at least twice that SOT, and if you use this outdoors, 3 hours will become 2 hours and impractical. So, it's worth paying a bit more for something with sensible battery life.
The 15% code doesn´t work. As to be expected by CN "offerings" And it does not so regardless of: - VPN on/off - private Tab I will always get an € price and that is of course ........ Awesome review keep it up as always Chris Sir
My Surface Pro 3 is now crawling. It is so slow these days.
Just repaste the thermal paste
I still have an old surface 3 not pro, love it and dont want it to die hehe and recently installed win 11 ltsc iot and its a game changer
This is worse
@@martinmicallef4381 How do you get past the hardware compatibiltiy hurdle? I have varying luck forcing Win 11 on older HW. Thanks!
You can use rufus to disable processor checks for standard windows 11 but thats quite bloated but for iot ltsc there are no checks in the first place
Who remember Chuwi tabllets used to come with both android and windows. Its sad that they did not continue to do that.

Excellent the good news is that they can ship to my destination. In many cases they can ship to UK and US but not india

Is it possible to encrypt the SSD in these devices? I wouldn't risk losing the computer and having my files compromised.
Yes Windows bitlocker can be used and turned on for the drive however the speed of it will drop a little as the result.
Looks decent, a bit sad about the battery life
Intel N100 is similiar to Helio G99 for phone :D
True it is
You can find a used Surface pro 5 or pro 6 for that price, keyboard included.
Sure, but the battery will either be worn out or bulging, and they're not replaceable.
Should i buy this or the honour x9 tablet with keyboard?
It's not bad for the price but the speakers are pretty hopeless and the subpar battery life might a considering factor.
Very low volume the speakers I was disappointed to hear them
Can this run the YouCut editing app smoothly? I need to get back into editing for my channel.
Asus did release device like this, it was Transformer series. But then disappeared 😅
You might want to obscure some of those email addresses in the spreadsheet (unless it's simulated data)
Thanks for your concern luckily this are generated email data and all fields are generated.
thanks mister , i want to buy this tablet , just for multimedia & writng,
Look at breaking open some brands of 9v batteries, some of them have 6x AAAA Batteries inside.

Mentioned in the video not good about 4 hours
Hehe I got one of those C64 t-shirts too 😁
Great!! 👍
I have had my surface pro 3 for Ten years and it still works like new with window 11 pro
That’s great
how about the battery?
I click on the link, and it shows 500$ as the price 😔
Oh no it was super cheap 278 usd for just the tablet
It's currently $319 minus $32 off for the table alone. It's $375 minus $32 off for the tablet, stylus and keyboard. So $287 or $343.
Nine volt batteries contain six AAAA battery cells.
Great tip
