Fedora just shows a black screen. Elementary shows a black screen. (This is all installed as the sole OS). I initially used Ventoy but then switched to a dedicated USB stick. Same result.
It turns out that most new distros fail including 24.10. But since I saw 24.0.1 LTS in this video, I decided to give that a final shot and... THAT one is magic! 24.10 had proper screen rotation out of the box, but it doesn't help much when you can't actually install it to nvme at the moment.

This is the kind of screen size that appeals to me. Micro HDMI 1.4 and only 300 nits for the screen makes this a no no for external video playback or decent HDR content. Only 1 USB port makes it even worse. Looking at the price on euros, 320 is rather too expensive when I look at what is lacking, rather than what it has going for it. my experience with Chuwi is BAD. I wouldn't get anything from them. There'/s basically no customer service and they have actual issues with their products. One likely case scenario is simply a battery that doens't really last what you'd expect and then it will cost you ful price to get it "repaired" where it's not even repaired.
