Thank you! And yes, you can totally do that. Just create new Layouts in the respective section. Once you do that you can manually switch them from the dropdowns on the right side for your group, solo, raid, etc. I hope that answers your question but if I misunderstood something, let me know

Thank you! Check the click-casting chapter, you can do everything from there, even assign a macro (from the middle dropdown) instead of a regular key-bind.

There's a Tooltips section in the General tab, you can enable the tooltip from there, decided whether or not you want to see it in combat and you can also anchor it to your mouse, cell or one of the other options
Is there a way to instead of sorting by role, make it so my frame is always on the bottom? That way you could just always use just party frame for any non-raid content and remove my own playerbar. An alternative that would work for raid as well is that you just run "hide yourself" and then have the option in Cell to configure your player bar separately and set it up the same way you would do your party frames.
In the Layouts there's a "Hide Self" option that works for a party which I think is what you are asking for. Not sure about raid though as I think this option only applies to 5 man groups.
Manually - no. If you go to the Layouts section, you'll see dropdowns on the right allowing you to have different layouts for Raid Outdoor (40 man), Raid Mythic (20 man) and Raid Instance (everything in between)
Thank you! And I feel you, kind of the same here as long-time Vuhdo user. Direct answer to your question is NO. However, there are a few things that you can do. First, you can change the order in which the hots are displayed by moving them up and down the list. It does not guarantee position if something is missing from the list but at least it's a start. The other option is to make custom trackers (similar to the one that I made in the video) and place them wherever you want! However, the downside for this approach would be that you'll have to make and place every single one separately.
@@thelegendbehindthecow Alright ty! I tried to make custom tracker for example Life Bloom for rdruid but it wouldnt track because it wasnt a "buff". So unfortunataly it doesnt seem to work with HoT spells. Still great addon and I think I will stick with Cell, just have to get used to it being visually different :)
@@Facie Hm, it does track for me. Make sure you're getting the correct spell id in the custom indicators. Sometimes skills with the same name will have several different ids and if you input the wrong one, you think you are tracking that skill but in fact you are not. Let me know if you have trouble making it work and I'll try to provide more tips!
One of the things I really like about Vuh'do is the option to create additional bars in my layout for things like Target, Focus Target, a separate window for any group in 1-8, etc. Can Cell do this as well? Example: I create an NPC bar for Larodar so I can target the trees and roots through that.
Good point! Cell does have NPC section but I haven't muddled with it much yet. Putting this in my notes for future reference and may be advanced guide video with some of the other ideas/requests/questions from the comments!

Hm, that's a good suggestion although it's too much trouble for everyone to go through. They should just make it so the upgrades don't break everything... Let's hope that's a reality soon. I have been playing around with this and love it. I am running into an issue right now where the external cooldowns and defensives pop up to left of their frame. When I preview all indicators it’s not there so I can’t figure out where it is coming from. Any ideas?
Could it be different addon or WA? If it's not, it's just another indicator and you have to figure out which one. In fact, I have two different ones (by default one is left, the other right), one for personal defensives and one for "tank" defensives.

With Vuhdo, I was able to have my druid HoTs in multiple different places around the frame. For example, my Lifebloom would always be right side and my rejuv would always be left side (reguardless of which was cast first). Is it possible to do this with Cell?
There's a couple of things that you can do. First, when you display your hots, the order in the indicator matters as it's priority list. However, they won't show in specific places but only maintain the order specified there. What you can also do it create custom indicators as the one that I did in the video. Up to you what skills you are going to track with them but you can place them wherever you want and kind of achieve the same effect as with Vuhdo and it's reserved spot locations. This approach will just take you a little bit more manual work to get there.
Maybe I missed it but when I cast ghost wolf it tracks this, or Ascendance/Ancestral Guidance.. the only thing is the icons overlap each other so I can only see one of the auras at a time. I would like to see the spiritwalkers grace duration while using other cooldowns for example but this makes it impossible. Have been through all of the options and cannot find any way to change this. Its on the left outside the frame by default with one big icon
You have to go into the indicators and figure out which ones are responsible for the icons that you want / don't want to see. Once you do that, you can move them around so they don't overlap and either remove some of the buffs or blacklist them (depending on the indicator). Not sure which ones you have to be looking at, as for example, mine doesn't track ghost wolf at all but just go through them one by one and you should be able to figure it out.
@@thelegendbehindthecow Edited: I finally figured this out, it is tracking Ghost Wolf and other auras on the side via the BigDebuffs addon which is compatible with Cell. So any adjustments must be in that addon!
@@BobGnarley. Yeah that makes sense as many of the stuff you mentioned was not there by default in Cell. Not sure how BigDebuffs works but may be you can move its functionality within the Cell indicators now :)
I have never really understood why we have debuffs and raid debuffs. When to use what? Everything important is flagged as a raid debuff afaik, does anyone actually use the normal debuffs? My other issue with this addon is that I want fixed positions for my buffs. When you have multiple hots it's pretty bad that you always have to scan through the list to see if a specific hot is active or not.
Interesting points / questions. You can combine the raid and the regular debuffs. The idea behind is that the important ones that you need to react to (heal, use externals, defensives, etc) are marked as raid and in my case I also make them bigger with a different position. At the same time in the regular debuffs there's all kinds of minor stuff, for example, cheat death procs that give you information but there's nothing that you can do about them. I would assume people might blacklist those too but that's the main difference if you decide to keep them separate. As for the positions of the buffs - I see where you're coming from. I had specific position in Vuhdo as well but honestly, I got used to not having that pretty quickly. Besides, keep in mind that the buffs list is a priority one so you can rearrange them to your liking. It's not going to always keep them at the same position but you can get close to that most of the time. At the end of the day, if those are deal breakers for you, you can stick to whatever you were using before :)
Not really as long as you don't select your target first which is the big time saver. I have this minor perception that click casting uses only the mouse (although there might be key modifiers sometimes) so you are only using one of your hands to perform the actions you need instead of both thus less coordination but that's so minor that it's probably also irrelevant.

That's a good question. Unfortunately, I don't think they support something like that. I know there's a separate addon that allows you to do custom tooltips although I'm not sure if it will be able to do what you need. Worst case scenario, you can make a notepad list or a screenshot and keep it on the side or on your second monitor. This is what I did back in the past when all the classes were new to me :)

Thanks a lot for a very informative video. Started playing around with Cell and loving it, think I will migrate from VuhDo. One thing I can't figure out, when I cast Efflorensance on my Resto Druid the indicator icon is only on my frame, not on the party. I like to see if my AOE ground effect is well placed, any idea how to fix this please?
Cheers! It's actually not trivial to track things like Efflo (and Healing Rain) as they are not buff per se. It is possible with addons and scripts but not sure if there's an easy way to do it with Cell or any other similar healing addon. You see the buff on yourself but that's a buff that indicates you've casted the spell already and not that you are standing inside (you will still have it if you move out). However, one thing that you can do - if you run Spring Blossoms, you can add this to your healer indicator and it will work for everyone who gets that hot after standing in the Efflo. That's what I do :)
One question : when i have CELL addon, my control raid panel on the left disapear. Do you know how can i reactivate it ? i find it useful to place makers
I can't move the pets in party. I want my party frames right over my actionbar, but the pets are under the party unit frames, meaning they go behind the actionbar. How do I move the pet unit frames from PARTY unitframes (not raid)?
The pet support right now seems to be pretty poor. I don't think there's a direct way to move the pet unit frames. However, you can set the anchor to whatever and the work with the X and Y offset sliders to move them in some direction. It's a workaround but I haven't found anything better so far.
I tried cell after using healbot for so many years and i was instantly in love. I have one problem though if u can help. In healbot i had the option to sort the raid frames with tanks and healers always in the same grp with me as the first healer always, in cell im unable to do that even when i sort by role it sorts each grp seperatly and my frame ends up somewhere random in the middle of all frames. Do you know a solution?
Interesting, I don't use sorting in raids so no idea on how to achieve that but my initial idea is to use the Spotlight frames and if you can achieve what you want with them, may be place them on top of the sorted raid to cover the tanks and the healers?
ok, i feel liek it has some limitations, tell me if i'm wrong. - you can't use Click casting on your partyframes in the way i did with clique and partyframes. for example, i want klicking 1 to be holy light when i hover the Cell party frames but 1 also is judgement on my actionbar against enemies. to be continued. EDIT1: fixed i'm just dumb.
I guess you figured it out but let me know if you haven't. Doing a click-casting bind through cell and having a different skill set in 1 on your action bars works!

@@tftg458 Hm, I haven't had problems yet with colors but I'm yet to try the mono color vs class colors and that might have to wait until the end of the weekend as I'm on baby duty tomorrow. As for putting the bars at the bottom - it does feel a bit like a stretch at the start but you get used to it quickly (at least I did but I also had my raid frames there before so that helped). I decided to put them there because having them on the side covers relatively big part of the screen which could be hiding something important that I'd like to see. The other reason is that this way they are closer to my bars at which I'm looking anyway for skill procs / WAs / cast bars and it's generally closer to the middle of the screen. I used to have them on the side and that's fine too but with little practice you get used to the bottom. Also, having them on the side not only hides part of your main fight area but also leaves the bottom of the screen as empty space that you are not using so moving them fixes all these things at the same time. By all means though, if you feel / like them on the side, keep them there, nothing wrong with that!
With the after-prepatch patch Grid2 is borked on me so I gave this a try. Setting up was easy but there is no way to anchor to middle instead of left or right so when your party has 1 person, that person is in the middle instead of to the left always. Grid2 has that and I hope cell devs can add that as well. It makes it so any raid group will never grow to one side but always center around where ever you anchor it to.
Yeah, that's a minor thing but somehow I thought it's a thing in Cell. May be I'm mistaken with Vuhdo but I'll check and report back if I find that option. In any case, pretty sure they'll add it eventually even if it's not there
Addon is nice! But how do I change that the health loss is shown vertically and not horizontally? Without that change, it would be super hard for me to heal : D And thanks for the Video, really helped me out to set everything up.
I got you, trying the vertical bars right now as well and I like them. Go to layout and toward the bottom find "Bar Orientation". Switch that to either Vertical A or Vertical B. Both go from bottom to top, the only difference is the position of the power bar which is on the right in the first case and on the bottom in the second.
I 'll have a look on this. I want to be reliant on external adds-ons as little as possible ,but blizzard party frames especially in M+ show only a limited number of buffs/debuffs. I was playing resto shaman on beta and default bliz frames cannot display simultaneously riptide,earth shield,xal'atath buff and skyfury buff :D
Yeah, I like the Blizz frames and I would totally make them work if it was not for the dispel/debuff tracking. It's just very close to non-existant there and you have no control to change everything so that's a huge deal breaker :(
I like Vuhdo, but it caused insane frame rate drops on mythic Tendril. So, I'd be willing to learn a new addon only if it had better performance in raids. Does this addon have that selling point?
I feel you, this last raid has been horrific for me as not only Thindral would drop frames for me but almost every other boss. I haven't tested Cell in raid yet but watching Jak talk about it and reading online - it definitely seems that its performance is much better than Vuhdo. Based on that, I'd say the answer to your question is: yes.
I was a long time Vuhdo user as well but this felt better! I feel like it gives you a little bit more but everything is so much easier to work with and customize, so yeah, totally recommend it!
Is there any way i can remove peoples spells that have cooldown?? All are big and visible so it covers all the grids and squares. Cant find the disable Button
Hm, which spells do you refer to? If it's the personal cooldowns or the defensives, there are two custom indicators, one for each. You can either disable them all together OR they have blacklists where you can input spells that you don't want to see.

i'm not finding a way to turn off the red border when i've targeted a person. i prefer red border for aggro, which i can do, but i'm not finding a way to turn off or change the color of the targeted-player border
I got you! Go to Appearance tab and towards the bottom on the left you will see "Target Highlight Color". Click on the square next to it and change the color to whatever you like :)
That would be a stretch as I've never used them. I played with Vuhdo ever since I came back to the game and it is doing fine but Cell is much easier to work with and change. Can't talk about other addons though as I haven't played with them :(
Is there a way to move individual groups in raid? Like my current vuhdo setup I have my 20 player frame in the middle then any addition groups to the side for when I need them
That's a good question. I don't think you can do that right off the bat. You can use spacing and margins between the groups but I haven't found a way to move them separately yet. I'll report back here if I do
Is there a way to make the menu button disappear? In the options you can just make it invisible but as soon as you hover the cursor over it it reappears
Yeah, that happens every now and then, the list is not extensive. Grab the idTip addon so you can find out the Spell ID of the spell you want to add and just type that in instead - that works for me :)
/omnicd -> go to the "Dungeons" section on the left -> Position tab -> if you don't like what you see in the Position dropdown, select "more" and then play with the anchor menus

Cheers! If you go to the click-casting tab, add a new row and press the button on the middle, you'll have "Target" there as option. You can then assign whatever you'd like and it should have mouse left click by default but may be it's just not there for you.
There are a few things that you can do - class coloring is one of them obviously. If you go to Appearance and find the "Health Bar Color" dropdown, you can work it out from there. But I don't think they have an actual icon for the classes that you can display.

@@blaccdayz21 I've exported my whole profile with this one from the video and the one that I'm using for keys. Grab it from the Discord in the description, the one from there should import with no problem.
Not sure you can duplicate the dispel indicator but the way I have it - dispels are only set to the ones that I can take care of. And then I have the Debuff indicator that shows everything else so if there's something that I cannot dispel, it would show there.
So is this addon like, “click frame, press talent bar and heal, or is it like Vuhdo where the healing abilities are bound to your mouse and all you need to do is click the frame and it heals the party?”
You can totally bind stuff to your mouse (which is what I do). I think you can even see some of my binds in the footage - every healing spell is on my mouse so it's quicker and I don't have to target anything :)

Not quite what I meant; particularly at the start of an exp, recognizing the effects of a debuff out of the icon is difficult. What I want is to mouse over an icon in the frames and get the tooltip for that effect. Blizzard frames does this (and for buffs/hots too), Vuhdo does it. Haven't found a way for cell to do it.
@@rada87sss Mmm yes, I see that it's different. I still think there's no way to do it currently though. I'd love to have this option too as that was pretty good in Vuhdo and right now I have to select the person as target and manually scroll through their debuffs on the target frame which obviously is quite annoying.
@@rada87sss I'd watch some dungeon guides and know in advance what most of the stuff does anyway (I have some on the channel already up). You won't know everything and you'd still have to check some stuff but at least it would let you use Cell - just my 2 cents :)

I try to have similar keybinds for both so my brain doesn't get confused but yeah, that's a weak point for this addon. They have profiles for each spec which is fine but none if you want to do something different within the same spec. I don't know if it helps but you can bind the same skill twice to different keybinds...
@@thelegendbehindthecow it's more that I have entirely different spells in raid spec than m+ spec, like on druid I am spamming adaptive swarm in m+ but I take swiftmend in raid and want them bound on the same key depending on which I have.
@@Estarianne2000 I think you can bind two different spells on the same key but if you have a different bind for swiftmend in M+ then it starts to escalate quickly, yeah... They should allow you to have separate profiles for the same spec, may be we can suggest that to their discord!
It's like Grid2 made easier, I love it!. I really liked your guide even though at minute 16:10 you give one of the worst advice that can be given to a healer in my opinion. That option is for dps with a dispell, as a healer you must understand which debuffs you can dispell and which ones you should heal through them. Also, if you are in communication with your group, you can request the dispell from your teammates... when you don't have an indication that someone has an important debuff, the only thing you have left is to react instead of prevent, in addition to probably receiving complaints about something that someone else should've dispelled.
Very good point but I would still see that in the "Debuff" section which displays everything. It's just that I'm not going to get the bar colored thinking that I can dispel when I can't. The information is still there though so you'll know if you have to heal / ask for help / use defensives :)
I think there was a bug that would delete all custom indicators and supposedly it's fixed in the latest version from today. Pretty bad glitch to happen, especially if you didn't have your stuff exported as a back up. I was lucky enough to be on baby duty yesterday when this happened so I didn't even log in but for those that did, pretty bad experience :(
Yeah, I was the same but with Vuhdo. No reason to change really if you don't want to but Cell does give me some new options and it feels much easier to muddle with :)
Hm, it does let me do that. Are you assigning them from the click-casting menu? What happens when you try, is there an error? And if all of that is fine, check if you don't have another addon that steals the bindings and basically takes over Cell

Do you have everything assigned properly in the Layouts section? There are dropdowns on the side which specify which layout to use when solo, when in group, when in raid, etc. May be it's assigned wrong there?
Ive recreated it like i wanted it so no worries, anyway is there a way where i can blacklist the wildgrowth the Guardians are casting? so its not shown on party/raidframes
Hey, they keep breaking the import strings every time they release a new version - it's notorious. I've reexported them half a dozen times already but alas they keep breaking it... As per your blacklist question - your guardian's wild growth has different spell id from your own. You can install the "idTip" addon and you'll see it once you hover over the icons. So depending on which indicator shows it - you either have to go and remove the guardian's one from the list if both are there OR add it to the blacklist if it's indicator that shows everything by default. Let me know if you have trouble doing that.
Probably it has something to do with the bug from few days back. I've updated the link with new export that hopefully works: rentry.co/3f44eugn It's a layout export so may be that's why it's shorter? And pastebin keeps deleting the stuff I try to put there which is why I found this alternative
The addon is really good, but it's still in its infancy. unfortunately, many functions that vuhdo offers are still missing. as an example, i can't tell the addon not to display the windows when i'm in a dd specc and even if i select the settings that group 1 should not be displayed, it is still displayed.
Yeah, when it comes to spec specific stuff, they are lacking a bit behind but those are minor issues to me. They are also quick to adopt new features and suggestions if they are viable so moving quickly to the post-infancy stage :)
Hm, good question! I don't see why not, it would work out of the box but some of the indicators might need some work as I assume spell ids are different in SoD so if they are not there (which I assume) you will have to add them manually

Actually, I was attempting to import from the wrong spot. there was an import under the "about" section. It errored, I see the correct spot in the layout tab now. Nevermind! Leaving comment in case it helps someone else.
@@ignorantdevil Welp, that's one thing so hopefully it does. But they also break all import strings quite often when they update the addon. I had to reimport 3 or 4 times already. Hopefully it gets better on that front!
I tried Cell, its ok. Vuhdo has way more features, like bouquets and custom indicators, and for me the most important is being able to DPS hostile targets directly from healing frames, no healer addon does that.
Fair! There are workarounds for the bouquets and the indicators but it's not going to be 1-to-1 coverage with what Vuhdo has. Not sure what you mean by "DPS hostile targets from healing frames". Can you clarify?
@@thelegendbehindthecow Sure, you can create a custom window for either your target or focus which you can assign DPS spells, then just click the bar like you would normally to click heal. You assign the spells under the Hostile area of the spells section.

@@thelegendbehindthecow Yes, but its different, thats only for tracking. Vuhdo allows you to DPS directly from the frame. This is amazing for Disc Priest, for instance, you can focus the boss for attacks, but then heal the team as needed without losing any DPS uptime on the boss. I usually alternate between healing and firing off a few DPS attacks (my mouse has 4 buttons, so I always have a combination of 4 healing and 4 DPS spells on the go). I also use a custom bouquet that tracks the focus target health with breakpoints, so I can balance the boss's health with my mana, letting me know if I can push harder or need to be more conservative.
Fair enough! I personally never tried Healbot, been using the clunky Vuhdo forever and as long as you can make something work and it feels comfortable for you - it doesn't matter what everyone else says :)
You have to find which indicator shows it and then use the anchor positions to change where you want the indicator to show. If you want to move a separate spell - you'd have to remove it from its current indicator (or blacklist it, depending) and then create a custom indicator to show that specific spell. You can then use the anchor and offset controls again to set the position.
I assume you are asking how to open the menu so you can select inspect from there? When you go to the click-casting bindings and you add a new one, check the middle dropdown and select it from there instead of spell, then you can key/mouse bind it.
You can do all of that actually! To change the bar colors go to Appearance tab under "Unit Button Style", a drop down called "Health Bar Color". Few options there, including custom color. The go to Indicators and select the "Name Text" one. There's a class color drop down near the top which by default is "custom" but you can switch that to "Class Color" and voila. I might try that myself actually, it's interesting option :)

The biggest problem for me is that I can't fix my position. I like to always have my frame first, even when playing tank or dps, and I haven't found a way to make it happen with Cell. Other than that, it seems pretty nice. If they add that frame fixing option, I'll use it for sure.
Yeah, that's another small detail. If you are tank (or healer), you can use the sort by group feature that I show at the end and drag yourself to be first - that will work. If you are DPS though, you won't be able to control where you go even if you put DPS first in the order

@@Hagen0004 Hm, the first thing that comes to mind - add a key bind for targeting. If you go to the click-casting tab and you add a new row, you can select from the middle, I think it was called "General" and then on the right you can select "Target". Something among these lines. Once you do that, you can bind it to left click or w/e you want and it should work

Good question, I'll be interested in that as well and I'll dig into it a bit more when I get the chance. I have them separate and I use OmniCD with Cell which is generally fine but it's also a bit redundant so combining them might be the way to go
Hm, what spells would you try to use different rank for? May be you are not talking about retail but different version of WoW and I'm not sure if they support that kind of gameplay

And yes, you can totally do that. Just create new Layouts in the respective section. Once you do that you can manually switch them from the dropdowns on the right side for your group, solo, raid, etc. I hope that answers your question but if I misunderstood something, let me know

There's a Tooltips section in the General tab, you can enable the tooltip from there, decided whether or not you want to see it in combat and you can also anchor it to your mouse, cell or one of the other options
Is there a way to instead of sorting by role, make it so my frame is always on the bottom? That way you could just always use just party frame for any non-raid content and remove my own playerbar.
An alternative that would work for raid as well is that you just run "hide yourself" and then have the option in Cell to configure your player bar separately and set it up the same way you would do your party frames.
In the Layouts there's a "Hide Self" option that works for a party which I think is what you are asking for. Not sure about raid though as I think this option only applies to 5 man groups.
Do you have to manually change if your raid is a 25man or a 30 man? I've found Heroics range between those 2.
Manually - no. If you go to the Layouts section, you'll see dropdowns on the right allowing you to have different layouts for Raid Outdoor (40 man), Raid Mythic (20 man) and Raid Instance (everything in between)

Direct answer to your question is NO. However, there are a few things that you can do. First, you can change the order in which the hots are displayed by moving them up and down the list. It does not guarantee position if something is missing from the list but at least it's a start.
The other option is to make custom trackers (similar to the one that I made in the video) and place them wherever you want! However, the downside for this approach would be that you'll have to make and place every single one separately.

So unfortunataly it doesnt seem to work with HoT spells. Still great addon and I think I will stick with Cell, just have to get used to it being visually different :)
@@Facie Hm, it does track for me. Make sure you're getting the correct spell id in the custom indicators. Sometimes skills with the same name will have several different ids and if you input the wrong one, you think you are tracking that skill but in fact you are not. One of the things I really like about Vuh'do is the option to create additional bars in my layout for things like Target, Focus Target, a separate window for any group in 1-8, etc. Can Cell do this as well? Example: I create an NPC bar for Larodar so I can target the trees and roots through that.
Good point! Cell does have NPC section but I haven't muddled with it much yet. Putting this in my notes for future reference and may be advanced guide video with some of the other ideas/requests/questions from the comments!
Is the interrupts a separate addon or through cell?
It's a separate one called OmniCD - it brings the group CDs that you see below the frames as well as the Interrupts window tracker.

I have been playing around with this and love it. I am running into an issue right now where the external cooldowns and defensives pop up to left of their frame. When I preview all indicators it’s not there so I can’t figure out where it is coming from. Any ideas?
Could it be different addon or WA?
If it's not, it's just another indicator and you have to figure out which one. In fact, I have two different ones (by default one is left, the other right), one for personal defensives and one for "tank" defensives.

With Vuhdo, I was able to have my druid HoTs in multiple different places around the frame. For example, my Lifebloom would always be right side and my rejuv would always be left side (reguardless of which was cast first). Is it possible to do this with Cell?
There's a couple of things that you can do. First, when you display your hots, the order in the indicator matters as it's priority list. However, they won't show in specific places but only maintain the order specified there.
What you can also do it create custom indicators as the one that I did in the video. Up to you what skills you are going to track with them but you can place them wherever you want and kind of achieve the same effect as with Vuhdo and it's reserved spot locations. This approach will just take you a little bit more manual work to get there.
Maybe I missed it but when I cast ghost wolf it tracks this, or Ascendance/Ancestral Guidance.. the only thing is the icons overlap each other so I can only see one of the auras at a time. I would like to see the spiritwalkers grace duration while using other cooldowns for example but this makes it impossible. Have been through all of the options and cannot find any way to change this. Its on the left outside the frame by default with one big icon
You have to go into the indicators and figure out which ones are responsible for the icons that you want / don't want to see. Once you do that, you can move them around so they don't overlap and either remove some of the buffs or blacklist them (depending on the indicator). Not sure which ones you have to be looking at, as for example, mine doesn't track ghost wolf at all but just go through them one by one and you should be able to figure it out.
@@thelegendbehindthecow Edited: I finally figured this out, it is tracking Ghost Wolf and other auras on the side via the BigDebuffs addon which is compatible with Cell. So any adjustments must be in that addon!
@@BobGnarley. Yeah that makes sense as many of the stuff you mentioned was not there by default in Cell. Not sure how BigDebuffs works but may be you can move its functionality within the Cell indicators now :)

I have never really understood why we have debuffs and raid debuffs. When to use what? Everything important is flagged as a raid debuff afaik, does anyone actually use the normal debuffs?
My other issue with this addon is that I want fixed positions for my buffs. When you have multiple hots it's pretty bad that you always have to scan through the list to see if a specific hot is active or not.
Interesting points / questions. You can combine the raid and the regular debuffs. The idea behind is that the important ones that you need to react to (heal, use externals, defensives, etc) are marked as raid and in my case I also make them bigger with a different position. At the same time in the regular debuffs there's all kinds of minor stuff, for example, cheat death procs that give you information but there's nothing that you can do about them. I would assume people might blacklist those too but that's the main difference if you decide to keep them separate.
As for the positions of the buffs - I see where you're coming from. I had specific position in Vuhdo as well but honestly, I got used to not having that pretty quickly. Besides, keep in mind that the buffs list is a priority one so you can rearrange them to your liking. It's not going to always keep them at the same position but you can get close to that most of the time.
At the end of the day, if those are deal breakers for you, you can stick to whatever you were using before :)

does using click casting have any advantage over just using mouseover macros?
Not really as long as you don't select your target first which is the big time saver. I have this minor perception that click casting uses only the mouse (although there might be key modifiers sometimes) so you are only using one of your hands to perform the actions you need instead of both thus less coordination but that's so minor that it's probably also irrelevant.

That's a good question. Unfortunately, I don't think they support something like that. I know there's a separate addon that allows you to do custom tooltips although I'm not sure if it will be able to do what you need. Worst case scenario, you can make a notepad list or a screenshot and keep it on the side or on your second monitor. This is what I did back in the past when all the classes were new to me :)

Thanks a lot for a very informative video. Started playing around with Cell and loving it, think I will migrate from VuhDo. One thing I can't figure out, when I cast Efflorensance on my Resto Druid the indicator icon is only on my frame, not on the party. I like to see if my AOE ground effect is well placed, any idea how to fix this please?
Cheers! It's actually not trivial to track things like Efflo (and Healing Rain) as they are not buff per se. It is possible with addons and scripts but not sure if there's an easy way to do it with Cell or any other similar healing addon. You see the buff on yourself but that's a buff that indicates you've casted the spell already and not that you are standing inside (you will still have it if you move out).
However, one thing that you can do - if you run Spring Blossoms, you can add this to your healer indicator and it will work for everyone who gets that hot after standing in the Efflo. That's what I do :)
One question : when i have CELL addon, my control raid panel on the left disapear. Do you know how can i reactivate it ? i find it useful to place makers
I think that you can enable it from General -> uncheck Hide Blizzard Raid. They are all connected to this button, aren't they?
I can't move the pets in party. I want my party frames right over my actionbar, but the pets are under the party unit frames, meaning they go behind the actionbar. How do I move the pet unit frames from PARTY unitframes (not raid)?
The pet support right now seems to be pretty poor. I don't think there's a direct way to move the pet unit frames. However, you can set the anchor to whatever and the work with the X and Y offset sliders to move them in some direction. It's a workaround but I haven't found anything better so far.
I tried cell after using healbot for so many years and i was instantly in love. I have one problem though if u can help. In healbot i had the option to sort the raid frames with tanks and healers always in the same grp with me as the first healer always, in cell im unable to do that even when i sort by role it sorts each grp seperatly and my frame ends up somewhere random in the middle of all frames. Do you know a solution?
Interesting, I don't use sorting in raids so no idea on how to achieve that but my initial idea is to use the Spotlight frames and if you can achieve what you want with them, may be place them on top of the sorted raid to cover the tanks and the healers?

- you can't use Click casting on your partyframes in the way i did with clique and partyframes. for example, i want klicking 1 to be holy light when i hover the Cell party frames but 1 also is judgement on my actionbar against enemies.

did you have any problems with healthbar colors? i tried setting it op so it is grey when they are full hp and class color when they loose hp but that doesn't always seem to work :/

@@tftg458 Hm, I haven't had problems yet with colors but I'm yet to try the mono color vs class colors and that might have to wait until the end of the weekend as I'm on baby duty tomorrow.
As for putting the bars at the bottom - it does feel a bit like a stretch at the start but you get used to it quickly (at least I did but I also had my raid frames there before so that helped). I decided to put them there because having them on the side covers relatively big part of the screen which could be hiding something important that I'd like to see. The other reason is that this way they are closer to my bars at which I'm looking anyway for skill procs / WAs / cast bars and it's generally closer to the middle of the screen. I used to have them on the side and that's fine too but with little practice you get used to the bottom. Also, having them on the side not only hides part of your main fight area but also leaves the bottom of the screen as empty space that you are not using so moving them fixes all these things at the same time.
By all means though, if you feel / like them on the side, keep them there, nothing wrong with that!

With the after-prepatch patch Grid2 is borked on me so I gave this a try. Setting up was easy but there is no way to anchor to middle instead of left or right so when your party has 1 person, that person is in the middle instead of to the left always. Grid2 has that and I hope cell devs can add that as well. It makes it so any raid group will never grow to one side but always center around where ever you anchor it to.
Yeah, that's a minor thing but somehow I thought it's a thing in Cell. May be I'm mistaken with Vuhdo but I'll check and report back if I find that option. In any case, pretty sure they'll add it eventually even if it's not there
Addon is nice! But how do I change that the health loss is shown vertically and not horizontally? Without that change, it would be super hard for me to heal : D

I got you, trying the vertical bars right now as well and I like them.
Go to layout and toward the bottom find "Bar Orientation". Switch that to either Vertical A or Vertical B. Both go from bottom to top, the only difference is the position of the power bar which is on the right in the first case and on the bottom in the second.

I want to be reliant on external adds-ons as little as possible ,but blizzard party frames especially in M+ show only a limited number of buffs/debuffs. I was playing resto shaman on beta and default bliz frames cannot display simultaneously riptide,earth shield,xal'atath buff and skyfury buff :D
Yeah, I like the Blizz frames and I would totally make them work if it was not for the dispel/debuff tracking. It's just very close to non-existant there and you have no control to change everything so that's a huge deal breaker :(

I feel you, this last raid has been horrific for me as not only Thindral would drop frames for me but almost every other boss.
I haven't tested Cell in raid yet but watching Jak talk about it and reading online - it definitely seems that its performance is much better than Vuhdo. Based on that, I'd say the answer to your question is: yes.

Hm, which spells do you refer to? If it's the personal cooldowns or the defensives, there are two custom indicators, one for each. You can either disable them all together OR they have blacklists where you can input spells that you don't want to see.

That would be a stretch as I've never used them. I played with Vuhdo ever since I came back to the game and it is doing fine but Cell is much easier to work with and change. Can't talk about other addons though as I haven't played with them :(

Absolutely, you can bind smite through the click-casting interface (there's a section in the video for that) and then use it on top of the frame.

That's a good question. I don't think you can do that right off the bat. You can use spacing and margins between the groups but I haven't found a way to move them separately yet. I'll report back here if I do

Good catch. I don't think there's a way to completely remove it - the Fade Out option in General is the only available command right now.

Yeah, that happens every now and then, the list is not extensive. Grab the idTip addon so you can find out the Spell ID of the spell you want to add and just type that in instead - that works for me :)
How do you adjust OmniCD so it is below the bars in party? Instead of in the party frames itself
/omnicd -> go to the "Dungeons" section on the left -> Position tab -> if you don't like what you see in the Position dropdown, select "more" and then play with the anchor menus

If you go to the click-casting tab, add a new row and press the button on the middle, you'll have "Target" there as option. You can then assign whatever you'd like and it should have mouse left click by default but may be it's just not there for you.

There are a few things that you can do - class coloring is one of them obviously. If you go to Appearance and find the "Health Bar Color" dropdown, you can work it out from there. But I don't think they have an actual icon for the classes that you can display.

Not sure you can duplicate the dispel indicator but the way I have it - dispels are only set to the ones that I can take care of. And then I have the Debuff indicator that shows everything else so if there's something that I cannot dispel, it would show there.

You can totally bind stuff to your mouse (which is what I do). I think you can even see some of my binds in the footage - every healing spell is on my mouse so it's quicker and I don't have to target anything :)

Not quite what I meant; particularly at the start of an exp, recognizing the effects of a debuff out of the icon is difficult. What I want is to mouse over an icon in the frames and get the tooltip for that effect. Blizzard frames does this (and for buffs/hots too), Vuhdo does it. Haven't found a way for cell to do it.
@@rada87sss Mmm yes, I see that it's different. I still think there's no way to do it currently though. I'd love to have this option too as that was pretty good in Vuhdo and right now I have to select the person as target and manually scroll through their debuffs on the target frame which obviously is quite annoying.

I did it like 3 or 4 times already since I originally published the video but I just can't keep up with them :(
I thought it would let me set up separate keybinds for raid and m+ but it won't, and it's such a pain to switch them!
I try to have similar keybinds for both so my brain doesn't get confused but yeah, that's a weak point for this addon. They have profiles for each spec which is fine but none if you want to do something different within the same spec. I don't know if it helps but you can bind the same skill twice to different keybinds...
@@thelegendbehindthecow it's more that I have entirely different spells in raid spec than m+ spec, like on druid I am spamming adaptive swarm in m+ but I take swiftmend in raid and want them bound on the same key depending on which I have.
@@Estarianne2000 I think you can bind two different spells on the same key but if you have a different bind for swiftmend in M+ then it starts to escalate quickly, yeah... They should allow you to have separate profiles for the same spec, may be we can suggest that to their discord!
It's like Grid2 made easier, I love it!. I really liked your guide even though at minute 16:10 you give one of the worst advice that can be given to a healer in my opinion. That option is for dps with a dispell, as a healer you must understand which debuffs you can dispell and which ones you should heal through them. Also, if you are in communication with your group, you can request the dispell from your teammates... when you don't have an indication that someone has an important debuff, the only thing you have left is to react instead of prevent, in addition to probably receiving complaints about something that someone else should've dispelled.
Very good point but I would still see that in the "Debuff" section which displays everything. It's just that I'm not going to get the bar colored thinking that I can dispel when I can't. The information is still there though so you'll know if you have to heal / ask for help / use defensives :)
Ok, so Cell just did an update and now it no longer shows spells. They are all gone from the indicators.
I think there was a bug that would delete all custom indicators and supposedly it's fixed in the latest version from today. Pretty bad glitch to happen, especially if you didn't have your stuff exported as a back up. I was lucky enough to be on baby duty yesterday when this happened so I didn't even log in but for those that did, pretty bad experience :(
I use Grid and mouseover macros. 😂. Still works great after 15 years.
Yeah, I was the same but with Vuhdo. No reason to change really if you don't want to but Cell does give me some new options and it feels much easier to muddle with :)

Hm, it does let me do that. Are you assigning them from the click-casting menu? What happens when you try, is there an error? And if all of that is fine, check if you don't have another addon that steals the bindings and basically takes over Cell

Do you have everything assigned properly in the Layouts section? There are dropdowns on the side which specify which layout to use when solo, when in group, when in raid, etc. May be it's assigned wrong there?

Hey, they keep breaking the import strings every time they release a new version - it's notorious. I've reexported them half a dozen times already but alas they keep breaking it...
As per your blacklist question - your guardian's wild growth has different spell id from your own. You can install the "idTip" addon and you'll see it once you hover over the icons. So depending on which indicator shows it - you either have to go and remove the guardian's one from the list if both are there OR add it to the blacklist if it's indicator that shows everything by default. Let me know if you have trouble doing that.

It's a layout export so may be that's why it's shorter? And pastebin keeps deleting the stuff I try to put there which is why I found this alternative
The addon is really good, but it's still in its infancy. unfortunately, many functions that vuhdo offers are still missing. as an example, i can't tell the addon not to display the windows when i'm in a dd specc and even if i select the settings that group 1 should not be displayed, it is still displayed.
Yeah, when it comes to spec specific stuff, they are lacking a bit behind but those are minor issues to me. They are also quick to adopt new features and suggestions if they are viable so moving quickly to the post-infancy stage :)

Hm, good question! I don't see why not, it would work out of the box but some of the indicators might need some work as I assume spell ids are different in SoD so if they are not there (which I assume) you will have to add them manually

Actually, I was attempting to import from the wrong spot. there was an import under the "about" section. It errored, I see the correct spot in the layout tab now. Nevermind! Leaving comment in case it helps someone else.

You can go to the Appearance tab and find a checkbox called "Heal Prediction". Select that and you can even change the color it comes with :)
I tried Cell, its ok. Vuhdo has way more features, like bouquets and custom indicators, and for me the most important is being able to DPS hostile targets directly from healing frames, no healer addon does that.
Fair! There are workarounds for the bouquets and the indicators but it's not going to be 1-to-1 coverage with what Vuhdo has.

@@thelegendbehindthecow Sure, you can create a custom window for either your target or focus which you can assign DPS spells, then just click the bar like you would normally to click heal. You assign the spells under the Hostile area of the spells section.

Cell does have NPC and Spotlight frames that supposedly allow you to do the same but I'm yet to do a deep dive into them. If I find anything interesting I'll report back, probably with advanced guide video too :)
@@thelegendbehindthecow Yes, but its different, thats only for tracking. Vuhdo allows you to DPS directly from the frame. This is amazing for Disc Priest, for instance, you can focus the boss for attacks, but then heal the team as needed without losing any DPS uptime on the boss. I usually alternate between healing and firing off a few DPS attacks (my mouse has 4 buttons, so I always have a combination of 4 healing and 4 DPS spells on the go). I also use a custom bouquet that tracks the focus target health with breakpoints, so I can balance the boss's health with my mana, letting me know if I can push harder or need to be more conservative.
Cell can do this and it's far easier to set-up .. you can create frames for focus target pets whatever and use the click castings to cast spells

Hm, are you talking about a brez timer that comes from Cell? I'm not sure what you are referring to
How do you move a spell icons position?
You have to find which indicator shows it and then use the anchor positions to change where you want the indicator to show.
If you want to move a separate spell - you'd have to remove it from its current indicator (or blacklist it, depending) and then create a custom indicator to show that specific spell. You can then use the anchor and offset controls again to set the position.

I assume you are asking how to open the menu so you can select inspect from there? When you go to the click-casting bindings and you add a new one, check the middle dropdown and select it from there instead of spell, then you can key/mouse bind it.

The is no way to change color of a bar and use class colors for a name only
You can do all of that actually!
To change the bar colors go to Appearance tab under "Unit Button Style", a drop down called "Health Bar Color". Few options there, including custom color.
The go to Indicators and select the "Name Text" one. There's a class color drop down near the top which by default is "custom" but you can switch that to "Class Color" and voila.
I might try that myself actually, it's interesting option :)

This addon is good, except that mouseover macros don't work with it, and that's important for me as a healer.
Hm, my mouseover macro work for me, so may be try the latest version? Or there might be something wrong with the macros themselves

The biggest problem for me is that I can't fix my position. I like to always have my frame first, even when playing tank or dps, and I haven't found a way to make it happen with Cell. Other than that, it seems pretty nice. If they add that frame fixing option, I'll use it for sure.
Yeah, that's another small detail. If you are tank (or healer), you can use the sort by group feature that I show at the end and drag yourself to be first - that will work. If you are DPS though, you won't be able to control where you go even if you put DPS first in the order
you can 100% switch that, under Layouts there's a button that says Sort by Role, then you can move around the role icons.
you can also remove yourself from the list so you only have 4 and use you own health bar for just you.

I got your profile imported, and i've changed the click-casting to my normal keybinds. but now i cant target my party members by clicking this group bar, is it possible to change this? i dont use left or right click for any binds.
@@Hagen0004 Hm, the first thing that comes to mind - add a key bind for targeting. If you go to the click-casting tab and you add a new row, you can select from the middle, I think it was called "General" and then on the right you can select "Target". Something among these lines. Once you do that, you can bind it to left click or w/e you want and it should work
I wish you could make a much simpler and slower "idiots (me) guide to setting up the basics for this.......... (im old my brain works slow) the only part I really understood was at 22:40 ish for a short minute
I guess my accent doesn't help either :D One thing I can suggest - UA-cam has a control that allows you to change the play speed. May be try slowing it down a bit from there and see if that makes it better. If you come up with any questions, feel free to shoot them here in the comments as well!

Good question, I'll be interested in that as well and I'll dig into it a bit more when I get the chance. I have them separate and I use OmniCD with Cell which is generally fine but it's also a bit redundant so combining them might be the way to go

No matter what spell ID I use the addon uses the max rank for any spell.
Hm, what spells would you try to use different rank for? May be you are not talking about retail but different version of WoW and I'm not sure if they support that kind of gameplay
