I use the tranq version of the OG rifle you get. You need 3 cuttlefish scales and some parts you normally use for a weapon upgrade. I put down hammerheads with this and sailfish. It’s the first and only tranq upgrade for that weapon the others are lighting so I hope no one’s confused which gun I use. It’s easier to use the rifle than the tranq gun since you don’t have to upgrade the rifle muliple times.
Yes I agree. But I think the chance is lowered on this compared to the hush dart at 100%. The main idea behind this guide was for 100% chance at 3 star sharks and large fish. But this is A GREAT tip and something I haven’t tried as much as the dart. So the chances aren’t 100% clear
guns with the tranquillizing fx have a 40% chance of instantly tranquillizing fish (unless they die first) and 8 ammunition. i think it is more versatile than the fully upgraded hush dart, plus you can get it way earlier in the game. but the level 3 hush dart is more sophisticated :P

I am in chapter 2 with the tranq rifle and it's pretty consistent at sleeping sharks, tuna, etc. I've heard for maximum success/versatility you want to get the triple axel tranquilizer because each shot can put to sleepwhich means you have 5(x3 = (15)) attempts at the 40% buffer. The rifle seems like enough right now though. When do you use the net vs the tranquilizer gun? Is the net more so for groups of fish? I've noticed that it doesn't really work on bigger fish (like the tranq gun), but perhaps the upgraded version does?
any sleeping gun will do the trick just keep in mind that it also does damage so if the shark/fish do not fall asleep while you shoot at it you can kill it, but you can make it fall asleep with one shot if you are lucky, I personally use the first gun do not know the name of it but it looks like shotgun. And the good thing is that after you used your drones you can go and collect other 3 star fishes with it, of course if they do not die from the damage.
You can catch live sharks and big fish without updating any weapon. You just have to find a tranquilizer harpoon. I find one almost every second run and they have a high chance putting a fish into sleep

Once you unlock this weapon then maxed out the drone (lvl3). After this you only need to find 3 big fish and it's already enough to fill both restourant.
So i upgraded to the Enhanced Hush dart 2 and when i fire 2 tranqs at sharks they just dont go to sleep i've tried with 4 different types of sharks so far and none of them are working I have the drone... idk guess i'll try the tranq rifle

Wish I had known earlier. 🤨 Also during this hour, I tried to catch the Horned Parrotfish alive and you actually need to do it using the HARPOON of all things. GREAT quest design.🙄

I find hush dart are quite useless (except for the early game). If i want to catch small - medium fish, steel net gun can do it better and if i want to catch some big shark i just use tranquilizer version of underwater gun or grenade launcher. It rely on rng a bit but 40% to proc is consistently enough for 6-8 tries. So I recommend everyone to kill/catch any cuttlefishes whenever you see it for its skin and discard it if you don't want to carry it. 3 ea for gun that use bullet 5 ea for grenade launcher.
It is the only way to get them with 3 stars other than raising them in the farm, which people didn’t realize. But I agree. I like the net gun for small/medium fish!!

True that the net is better until you max both out. Cause not only does the maxed hush tranq big bois which the net gun can't do, it also catches small bois in 0.1s. Also has 1 ammo more than the net gun. I use it as my main weapon in the epilogue for pikaia, falcati, and waptias. The only endgame fish that the net gun is better for are the hordes of capelin

Do you have to craft multiple rank 2 weapons in order to create a rank 3 weapon? Duff wants me to create a rank 2 dart gun in order to create a rank 3, but I already have a rank 2 dart gun in my inventory. Can I not use this one in the crafting process?

Toy hammer is really op (1 damage, decent sleep percentage)

The Tranq Harpoon does this too, but its more random. had it happen once and have been trying to do it again for a while

So you have to max it out as I mention in the video.
You need to upgrade it to the Maximum level which is unlocked through story progression. If you don’t have the final upgrade, it won’t work.

3 star crabs are harder, the only way to get one is to buy the bomb net from the shop
