I have a lifted 92 on 35" tires with dual 4" chrome stacks on the back. it was my first ever truck I've had it since I was 14 and she's my baby. green and black with the black and green interior. ill never sell her.
That is rad!! I had to sell this truck unfortunately. I converted it to 5speed NV4500 and then I took a job working downtown Vancouver.. This thing could not be parked anywhere. Had to get a smaller vehicle. I will own one again some day.
It was hard! It went to a good owner. The frustration of owning it at the time made it easier to let it go but I look forward to the day I come back to one :)
I remember my grandpa had a truck like this actually his was a 91 2wd same color as this no extended cab though, remember that was a very nice truck wish he still had it.
Yeah these things are like.. The best of every world. 70's body style and build quality, with 90's technology, diesel Cummins... Damn best truck ever. They don't make them like they used to!
Yes I did! Moog 7226S spring! Leveled out really nicely. I tried to have coil spacers stuffed in there for extra lift... But the shop couldn't jam them in there even with 2 extra people helping haha. I'll make a new vid soon, the truck looks much different now. Added aftermarket wheels, bigger tires, HID+Projector lights, LED dash conversion, aftermarket deck + sub, more LED's around the truck. Looks better!
Beautiful Truck...A twin to mine!! Same everything (at least it was until I had it painted.). Most everything but the tires and injectors (and the injection pump of course) on mine is stock too. Bought mine brand new and I don’t think I could ever bear to part with mine...LOVE IT!
Nice truck, my dad just told me he is giving me his 92 3500 truck. Can’t wait to get my hands on that beast. I have to paint it get some new tires and do some Interior work.
I would just kill for this truck man a first gen 90-93 cummins is my dream truck and you nailed it dude we use to have a 06 mega cab that sounded just like this but I do believe it was way louder.
yeah i was trying too figure out why my old w350 didnt have it..it looked like it was there but it was part of the housing and not a seprate piece that would explain alot.
+John Lynn Thanks! Yeah My current piping is in great shape for now so don't really care to put money towards a full new system for the time being. I do light loads hauls anyways.
Awesome truck. I have the same one, but a bench in the front instead of the bucket seats. Still runs like a dream with somewhere around 250k on it. The odometer stopped working a little while ago lol
+Paul Bryant I had some aftermarket wheels for a little while. Hard to find something that looks decent on these really low 2wd trucks. Would be different if the truck was 4x4 and about 10" higher! I love the factory old man cummins look anyways ;)
Screw in the bolt on the aneroid valve so it gets full fuel at low rpm. You are not actually turning up the fuel so it’s not hurting the motor. It’s just giving it fuel without waiting for boost to open the valve. Black stack without hurting the motor. Message me if you want to know how.
Folks have told me to add an Hx35s on my truck but i tell'em what for its all stock. Does it help and would i need to upgrade anything else for this turbo to have an effect on either horsepower or engine?
Nice choices dood. U just topped off my next build, a rat rod with 1st gen cummins...of course going with ur style video here for the sound, but think ill make a custom stack.....hmmmmmm
Wicked thanks!! Not many people are into it but I love the TRON look to it. It's going to be a future restoration project once I spend some time to learn how to fiberglass. From what I've gathered it's not too bad. But for now the bike runs really great!!! And still looks good from a distance ;)
23027 that's awesome man, I got an 87 750 that I have to find the time to redo. Going for a slightly stretched look, but not to the point of where it's obnoxious. I haven't tested the motor yet but if it's bad I'm going to look for a newer 1000 motor or something to swap. I love the looks of the old bikes. Plus hats the lightest gsxr they ever made! Keep us updated with your build. I'll sub to you and keep my eye out for it. I might end up doing mine soon.
if you have the stock turbo on it............ which i assume you do............ you will be disappointed to find that the H1C does not have a silencer ring in it.......... that is 2nd gen onward...... hope you haven't already done the work=(
im assuming from the way you talk must of been your first diesel? why dont put the shaved fuel pin in turn the pump up? or do a p pump converson. or anything else. like a million things you could do. you should do 4inch or 5 in back. nice truck
Yeah definitely my first diesel, but if I were to get another I would do the same nothing to it. Just my preference! I like things internally to stay factory. So many aftermarket parts it's tempting sometimes. Thanks though!
I have a 3 inch exhaust and I'd like to put a muffler delete on but can't seem to find one that's 3 inches. Where'd you get your muffler delete or how did you exactly do it?
+onlylikenerd I took it to a shop that builds exhaust systems. This wasn't a purchased "muffler delete kit". Just a straight piece of 3" pipe that was measured and cut to fit.
+Peterson Bailey Langley here, picking up a 2500 1996 cummins laramie slt automatic 237,000km soon from my grandpa, doing KDP repair, anything I should be aware of
+23027 ah good Mines acting funny. and fellow first gen owners have had to replace the heater switch. Might be common. My dad says all these first gens have weird wiring as in if one thing goes so do the lights and windshield wipers.
Sounds like a bad switch on the steering column if I were to guess. That or the motor lost its high speed function. Start cheap and dig deeper! Odd that the cluster lights ALL went out... Likely the switch too though. Check fuses first for that one!
"Unmolested, bone stock truck...And I intend to keep it that way." Check out my before and after straight pipe modification, up next a turbo silencer removal. Hmmm..... Sounds great, next you need a fuel plate and a waste gate modification.
Haha yeah maybe I shouldn't say BONE stock. But I won't do any engine modifications. You should see all the parts I have laying around for the 4x4 + NV4500 swap I'm about to do..
I almost bought a truck like this one for 6k but then I was told nahh it to old. so I move on and I got a 08 Colorado for about the same price. now I'm like wtf did I bought . lol
Ángel Romero ah man that engine was worth it back then.. If taken care of a diesel can go 500,000 miles and more.. the only gas engine i have seen go the distance is the straight 6 that engine was in an old Zephyr 250,000 miles..
Haha odo doesn't matter.. Not with these rigs. I almost bought a w250 with bench seats and power windows, but I couldn't justify the asking price to have a bench seat and manual windows. Got this for thousands cheaper and in ten times the condition.
+missy welch Yeah I don't think this is the factory wheel my truck came with, the cruise control was missing its wiring harness when I was troubleshooting it so at some point it's been taken off/replaced. I believe these trucks have the 3 spoke wheel and pre-91 trucks had these older style chrysler wheels. Not totally certain though. I would like to upgrade to the newer style some day.
+23027 sounds good haha alls I had to replace was a door n a front fender cuz of a car accident dented my door n fender but destroyed the suv that hit me haha I just recently straight piped my 93 dodge ram 350 going by a semi u can barely hear a difference now haha(better than sounding like a school bus let me tell you)
+23027 sounds good man even before we repainted the red door n brown fender took my truck to a car show n still won a trophy it was 4 trophies from the past 3 years now :) so be proud of that truck ur also lucky that the trucks paint isn't rusted or peeling like some of the other trucks like that I've seen :)

My brother had an ls400 we did some work on, straight piped it for a while and then had some other exhaust put in. Coilovers for a hot stance and some great looking wheels tucked in really nicely. Really great car, 1UZ is an amazing motor. You can't really compare apples to oranges here though. This is a raw truck, yours is a luxury sedan..
im assuming from the way you talk must of been your first diesel? why dont put the shaved fuel pin in turn the pump up? or do a p pump converson. or anything else. like a million things you could do. you should do 4inch or 5 in back. nice truck
+Tyler Baker Thanks! There's plenty of options out there but I don't intend to modify or alter anything on this truck. I feel better leaving the fuel pump untampered and staying very close to stock. If the exhaust is desparately needing replacement then I will probably just go with the MBRP 4" because it's very cheap and works just fine. I'd rather put the money into restoring the paint and getting it ready to convert to 4x4 in the future!
Beautiful truck. Keep it forever. It cannot be replaced by anything being made today.
THATS A FACT JACK
@@ljbrizo that's a fact KEVIN*****
No no no. Get rid of it for cheap so people like me can buy it😁
I like how the red sweatshirt guy just comes out of the bushes "Oh let me rev that for you"
+Alex Taylor Hah yeah I have no idea who he is but he read my mind so I just let him go at it
Read my mind. I laughed hard at this comment.
I just bought one today. 92. Old fella had it. Very nice shape to, no rust anywhere and 181000km. Same interior too.
Kudos keeping it stock. So many that have been lifted and riced into oblivion. Beautiful truck
Thanks! These trucks look so great just the way they are.
Sounds great nice choice going with non-rolled tip.
Thanks! Do you have scale models of this truck? I have one of a regular cab pre-90 truck but I'm looking for an extended cab..
I have a lifted 92 on 35" tires with dual 4" chrome stacks on the back.
it was my first ever truck I've had it since I was 14 and she's my baby.

Good luck in finding another , its hard to say goodbye to a good truck.
👍

Yes M'am!
Funny mine had an 89 for towing his trailers. He is the reason im into diesels. Miss riding with him in his truck
Yes I did! Moog 7226S spring! Leveled out really nicely. I tried to have coil spacers stuffed in there for extra lift... But the shop couldn't jam them in there even with 2 extra people helping haha. glad to hear that your turbo is good............ ive found that those old H1C's are tough and good for lots of miles.
Beautiful Truck...A twin to mine!! Same everything (at least it was until I had it painted.).
Most everything but the tires and injectors (and the injection pump of course) on mine is stock too.
Bought mine brand new and I don’t think I could ever bear to part with mine...LOVE IT!
wow that is clean...i totally remember that SUPER obnoxious buzz noise when they key was in and the door was open
Love the truck! Granted it probably won't be stock but i would have angled the tip towards the bumper. Gives a little boost to the exhaust too!
Nice truck, my dad just told me he is giving me his 92 3500 truck. Can’t wait to get my hands on that beast. I have to paint it get some new tires and do some Interior work.

Damn!!!! Huge score!! For both of you guys. Lucky.
No shit? Hell find me that kinda deal man!
Thanks! The 6.7 H.O is a monster! They sound pretty raw I love them too. Mega Cab would be siiick.
I put a 4inch all the way back at a 45 degree angle 6inch tip sounds awesome 😎
these trucks were so comfortable to ride in as well.
funny funny..I have a 93 and it rides like a Tank..but ill pull anything
Nice truck looks like its been took care of
+Jacob Cooper Thanks boss! I continue to do my best to keep it cared for
how long were you looking for the silencer ring before you realized the H1C doesn't have one?
+John Casteel Took me 2 minutes to pop off the intake tubing to see it for myself!
yeah i was trying too figure out why my old w350 didnt have it..it looked like it was there but it was part of the housing and not a seprate piece that would explain alot.
i have a 92 with a million miles on it, cab beat, looks like hell, runs like a dream.
That's your hand? Wasn't sure wtf that was. Thanks!
Yeah, people commonly mistake it for my leg so just needed to clarify.. UA-camrs...
Good lord!! I wish I had that truck. It would get a full 5" exhaust!

+MrJman967 Slick truck!! I LOVE dually's. Ext. Cab or reg? Straight pipe is super simple mod, cheap, and good enough for me!
Love the new sound from the strait pipe.. now it needs some new wheels.

It doesn't have a turbo silencer ring, it's and H1C. Hx35s on second gens and he351s on third gens have silencer rings.
Roger that ;)
Matt Leonard my h1c on my 93 had a silencer ring but not my 1990

It's not a readymade part, it's just a piece of 3 inch pipe that a muffler shop makes to fit where the muffler is
Matt Leonard Yeah I figured that out, I took my 24v to a shop and they did it and I examined how afterwards. Pretty cool stuff
Nicely done! Not too crazy of a job to have done.
Sounds great

I have heard similar things about the heater switch. It just goes bad. A lot of people bypass it and make a manual toggle switch instead.
