  • With the “No Gap” wall mount, I installed the Samsung Frame in 30 minutes, including hiding the one connect wire in-wall. If you’re considering buying or installing this TV, you can see how a professional TV installer does it for customers on a daily basis. I include some hidden issues with the mount and screws as well as show how I overcome some obstacles on these installs. I even show how to fix drywall when you mess up. #samsungframe #samsungframeinstall #tvinstall

    I was planning on hiring a professional to mount my newly bought The Frame 65". This video gave me all the skills and confidence to do the job myself. Didn't even read the wall-mount instructions, nor used the provided paper template, and just used the video as reference. Thank you so much for taking the time to explain in much details how to mount it!

    I have one of these TV's on order so I tuned in here to get some tips on the installation. One thing nobody seems to be aware of is that the 'One Connect' cord supplied by Samsung with the TV does not have a UL rating. This means that technically it should not be run through a wall without the use of electrical conduit. And because the connector is over 1 inch wide you'd have to use a rather large diameter conduit sleeve (and do major wall surgery to get it in there). It's my understanding that a UL listed cable is available as an afterthought from Samsung (with a huge price tag), but the real head-scratcher is...why wouldn't all Frame TV's come with the UL cable in the first place? It seems reasonable to think that anyone interested in this kind of TV would want it for it's low profile and it's unique ability to masquerade as framed art. Who wants to see a cable coming from underneath the TV? Samsung needs to remedy this.

      Thanks for this, I was thinking the exact same thing.

    • @kfgreenwald166
      @kfgreenwald166 7 місяців тому

      @@toddmellSamsung actually discontinued the optional UL rated 'One Cable' so I ended up using 1" ENT conduit (plastic flexible stuff). It looks like that split loom product you see on cars but it's blue without the split. It's supposedly UL rated for only low voltage stuff like cat5, coax and etc. I'd guess that the 'One Cable" doesn't really qualify in that regard but it's better than nothing and gives a little piece of mind I suppose.

    • @Monkeyseemonkey79
      @Monkeyseemonkey79 7 місяців тому +2

      I think because Samsung knows everyone will just ignore the fact it isn't a UL rated cable and still run it inside the wall - just like this guy did.

    Thanks for the “how to” video! To the point, and well narrated. Easy to understand. I watched your video after I ordered my Frame, then reviewed hanging the mount this morning and with extra careful measuring I had it on the wall confidently in less than 15 minutes. Kudos to Samsung for a custom hanging system and thanks again to you B for showing me how to get it done efficiently. Now onto cutting the cord!

      I saw that. My last couple installs did not have them. Its helpful. You can install that on togglers only. Its pulling down not out, 3 across top and one in middle bottom would hold 5 frame tvs without a stud.

    Thanks for the awesome install today! Not a cord in sight. Flat as a pancake against the wall. Unbelievable! I watched this thinking I’d do it myself. I didn’t trust myself to get the measurements accurate. I just remodeled and didn’t want to ruin my new walls. But, watching you install mine, you did everything just as you state here. The Frame by Samsung is truly beautiful. Turns a tv into beautiful artwork with one little push of the button. Turns off by itself if no movement in the room. So many more little secrets it has as well. Thanks again!

    Instead of leveling up the lower part of the wall bracket, it's best to hang the tv and gently level it while it's on the wall. The lower wall-mount bracket bolts are torqued to allow the tv to be levelled without swaying while hanging on the bracket.

    • @pterridactyl3able
      @pterridactyl3able 3 роки тому

      This does not apply to the 44” Frame, so leveling the lower part of the bracket is important in that case. Otherwise, totally agree!!

    Thanks for the helpful video. To help prevent the camming out of the Philips head screws (stripping as you called it), you can put some bees wax or soap from a bar of soap on the threads before screwing them in. That makes the screw thread in more easily and helps keep the Phillips bit from chewing up the screw head. It works like a charm.

Typical drill bit kits here have 6mm, 8mm or 10mm... So this is just a heads up: make sure you have a 9mm drill or 8mm plugs and corresponding screws.

    Wahoo! I’m the 1,000 upvote. This video deserves it!
    The screws that come with the no gap wall mount are ridiculous. First, Samsung does not include the toggle bolts (screws “F, G” in my manual.) The only include the screws you would use to mount this to a stud. While you should definitely try to use at least one stud in my opinion, most TV buyers will have to mount at least a few of the screws on straight dry wall. For that you probably do need the toggle bolts. Why would Samsung not include the most important screws for wall mounting the Frame TV. The whole point of the TV is that it’s for wall mounting!
    (Oh, and the screws included in the wall mounting set-the “E” screws-do strip really easily. I only used two of the five of them and stripped the first three I tried.)
    Anyways, go out and buy a few toggle bolt and follow this video. It will save you heartache.

    • @chrisdechristophe
      @chrisdechristophe 4 роки тому

      Well most of the world has solid walls, so toggle bolts will be no use. This also means routing cable as shown is not possible. Instead either have cable on wall exposed or chase conduit with cable in it (though how to do that when there is a plug at each end?) into wall and plaster over it, ie a huge mess.

    Great in depth video.
    I've ordered the 55 inch Q95T with the no gap wall mount, it's clever how the power to the TV goes through the one connect lead too, it's a great idea that saves alot of cables going to the tv, I'm not sure if like it behind the TV though, as some people do,, as it runs quite hot, and it defeats the object of keeping the cablestidy and away from the TV, I get how some situations have nowhere for the box to go, bit why not just get the normal version, without the one connect box?

    At 20:00 I would have switched off the mains power and pulled forward the GPO (general purpose outlet) to inspect what's behind before cutting the hole. Plus I never 'CUT' a hole anyway for fear of cutting through a power cable and killing myself - instead I punch screw drive (blunt plain blade is fine) size holes into the wall 1 by 1 to cut out a rectangle shape in the wall - this way there is no danger of slicing through a mains power cable. By inspecting what's behind the GPO first you can see where the nearest studs are and where the mains wires run, and if you have a $10 ebay endo camera (or small mirror and light) you can see what's going on in the cavity. Also at 20:10 I try to keep the wall holes as small as possible to minimize spiders and bugs getting in the house (or tape over the hole after threading the cord). Also at 22:30 you don't need to fish-tape up a wire (plus I hate using conductive wire for such a purpose behind a wall). Instead you can tie a small fishing weight or bolt-nut to a string or fishing line and drop the nut into the hole, which pulls the string with it. Then tie or tape your cable to the string and gently pull it through. Also at 22:55 if it was my $200 one-connect-cord, I would have been a lot gentler, and treated it like glass (like you would treat a fiber optic cable). They say the bend radius is only 10cm which it looks like you pulled tighter while handling on a number of occasions. But if it was a customers $200 one-connect-cord I probably would have been as rough as you - you just don't want to see intermittent issues in a year or two caused by unnecessary stress during installation. Also at 24:33 you should use a 10mm open ended spanner (not a socket or needle nose pliers) to maximize nut tightness without damaging the nut.

    Nice and helpful video. Just mounted my Samsung Q95T 65" TV on this "no gap" wall mount and whereas it works fine and does its job I'd say "no gap" is a bit of an overstatement. There's still at least a half of an inch (12 mm approx) gap between the back of the TV and the wall no matter how much you try to "flatten" the TV to the wall after mounting it. There's also a bit of an issue with the balance as the TV tends to tilt down slightly which makes the gap bigger at the top edge of the screen than it is at the bottom. The solution to this is to use some sort of pads underneath the bottom edge of the screen to push the lower part of the TV forward in order to make the gap even on the sides of the TV. There is a couple of pads included in the wall mount package but they're just too thin to do the trick. Otherwise the wall mount does its job and the TV looks looks pretty good on the wall. Just don't expect a totally "no gap" attached to the wall painting-like looking TV mount because it's not the case here.

    Nice job but just a few points to maybe save you from making a hole. When see you a box(elec/any)mounted horizontal it has something horizontal that it’s mounted to. Also you didn’t center the tv vertically with the windows. It really shows. I always center both vertically and horizontally. Nice job and thank you for making the video.

    • @BTheInstaller
      @BTheInstaller  4 роки тому +1

      Yes, as my stud finding video states, you are correct for the most part. Some boxes are put in as old work in homes. And the location of the tv was exactly where the customer wanted it. As for the height, I always base it on 3 things, customers desires, what will be under the tv, and my professional opinion on viewing angles. I rarely center things vertically, it wastes a lot of good space under TVs and people have historically agreed over about 15k installs. Thanks

  • @MatMat1T

    I had the same issue (24:15) with the leveling mechanism arriving off vs. the main bracket and not twisting. As B suggested needle nose pliers on the bolts did the trick (rotate counter clockwise) to loosen the mechanism so it could tilt with moderate force as intended.

    Thanks for the great video! I had done my 65" Frame just a few days before, almost the exact same measuring method, nice to have been validated. Question.... have you found a way to really get zero-gap around the whole perimeter of the frame. The bottom of tv is nearly flush, but can't seem to get enough leverage for the top to truly be flush, it kind of floats off the wall about 1/2to 3/4". I am sure I am only one to notice it, but I would love to get it uniformly "no-gap". When I push on it, it does go flush, but the kinda springs back a little. There is nothing on the wall causing that and I don't believe the wall is not straight. wondering if anyone else has run into this.

    • @BTheInstaller
      @BTheInstaller  4 роки тому +3

      You need to use the small pads they provide at the bottom which will bring that bottom out and keep the top in tighter.
      They also make different color bezel/frame you can add.. between the 2 of those, I have them very flush.

    Thanks for the amazing video! I just got my new 2022 Samsung frame TV and am going to do a self install. This video was most helpful. Samsung has noted that I should remove the electrical outlet that is sitting directly where my TV will be mounted on the wall as it will not allow the TV to sit flush. I noticed that you installed over an electrical outlet. Is the TV 100% flush with the wall? I sure hope I don't need to have my outlet moved.
