Gary Oldman, one of the most underappreciated actors in Hollywood. A marvel of acting. He makes you forget him as the actor and makes you only see the person he portrays.
@@jgrywacheski Not in my book. Without naming actors, there are multiple winners that are always playing themselves and none of those actors are close to Gary Oldman. Even in movies like Lost in space or fifth element does he disappear in character.
Love Harris, but an interviewer he's absolutely not. Thing is, an interviewer should talk less than the guest. Much less, in fact. Far from it in this case.
Chris Harris is the perfect successor to Jeremy, Richard and May. The reason why jt works is because he doesn’t act anything like them and actually tries to make the show different. That being said, I still love the OG crew!
Harris is great indeed. I preferred him to the old three from the get go, since they, in my view became boring, doing the same thing over and over. Old men with a lot of penis jokes, that depended on the script and production of Top Gear more than people realized, which for a huge part became apparent at The Grand Tour where they did the same thing to the extreme and then realized they needed to change things. Yes, Chris Evans didn't work as well, but I liked Reid and LeBlanc, even though they did require to get used to. The two northerners are ok as well, but I wish they were a bit more car oriented. Flintoff seems to become that guy, but the other one not so much and just tries to be funny.
I love when a real fan (of the person or the content) interviews someone really well. Chris must've been tickled by Gary's reaction to his "gold top milk" comment. Just brilliant.
The Land Cruiser phrase is not from Africa but Australia/outBACK: "If you want to go into the outback, take a Land Rover - if you want to get back, take a Landcruiser". Great chat as always, really enjoyed it.
If anybody is reading this and has influence over Apple TV scheduling of shows, PLEASE, PLEASE could you broadcast Slow Horses Season 4 as soon as possible and not make us wait until December 2024. There are so many fans of this series, it would be really good if you could make us happy.
Even Film Journalists doesn't ask such quality questions, about film, about characters like Chris does. Hes funny too, like a comedian. Legends Chris and Gary❤️
Excellent news that there is a second one coming out. I was addicted to the first Slow Horses & could barely wait for the Friday release on Apple TV. In fact I watched them all over again & found it just as good the second time around.
OH! Love this. Do more interviews like this. Its great content. Gary Oldman is a great actor and Chris Harris, his genuinely school boy excited stance both on the actor and the series is infectious. Well played TG
Nice one Chris. Watched it all the way through, which is not what I normally do on UA-cam. You do deserve your own show. Title "Chris Harris does everything"
I loved when Jeremy would geek out on cars and talk about the minute details with his guests and I love that Chris does the same! Seeing their enthusiasm and reminiscing is wonderful - please keep at this segmet/series!
Still think the car chase in Ronin is one of the best - like an updated French Connection scene. Gary Oldman has had an incredible career - wish there was a way to watch Slow Horses without Apple TV
When you get two men you admire (albeit for different talents) into the same room magic can and in this case, did happen. Epic interview mate. You can tell Gary enjoyed himself as well which was a real treat to see. 👍👍👍
Great interview, absolutely love Gary Oldman, director, actor, Nil by mouth is one of the hardest hitting films ever on its subject matter, Book of Eli, Leon, to name just a few, absolutely superb history 👏🏻 🇬🇧
"It's a bit like easing yourself into someones dirty bathwater." THAT was one helluva description of getting into character! I LOVE me some Gary!!! 😂😂❤❤
It's hilarious Chris is quite blunt in how he delivers his jokes and Gary's laugh is infectious. Sometimes you can't even register that Chris said a joke and he continues on, then Gary's laugh just erupts.
The two Lotus Esprit Turbo chase scenes in Basic Instinct, and the Jaguar C-X75 chasing the Aston Martin DB10 in James Bond Spectre are my favorite chase scenes.
Looks like a great film series! (I was also thrilled to see (the Lady that played his wife in Churchill) also stars…) and to top it all, it looks like it’s set in London. - He really can’t go wrong in my eyes..
I was wondering what Gary was up to lately. I'll be seeking out that new series because I'm sure, like the man himself, it will be understated brilliance. Cheers.
He's always terrifying to me. There's that arresting intensity you hear from the sudden laughter to Chris' comments. Gonna be taking my son down to the Rose Bowl for same reason very soon. Will have to keep a lookout for Mr. Oldman tooling around in his Cayenne, laughing like a maniac.
Gary Oldman was brilliant as the bad guy in ‘Leon’. Really made that movie. I saw it in the cinema at the time. Still a great film btw (with a really young Natalie Portman)
The Rover SD1 and the Jensen Interceptor are some of better looking iconic cars from that era that weren't from a "popular" manufacturer. What Chris said about the Rover SD1 being on the assembly line for months was hilarious, I guess Rover was a pioneer of the "start stop" feature long before the other manufacturers got on board.
Yeah but it was under investment that killed the British car industry….. it was a major factor why those workers went on strike…. But that didn’t get reported in the press!
His funked up accent, due to years of movies, is mesmerizing. I'm hearing his english tongue fine but there is hints of Aussie in there..! serious method actor. His Leon performance was frightening.
that yellow japanese hatchback was a Honda Civic from like 1995. From the Rover era of honda. so this one was build in Swindon. with lots of european parts

TIL Gary Oldman is English. 🤣
See it’s easy anybody can do it. 1,2,3,4 stones!! -Zorg
Chris should do more of these. Such a great interviewer.
Check out his collecting cars podcast, absolutely fantastic
Yes
Chris Harris is a g. Spent years putting in work on UA-cam and car mags and now is finally getting his time in the sun
Love Harris, but an interviewer he's absolutely not. Thing is, an interviewer should talk less than the guest. Much less, in fact. Far from it in this case.
That last look of Oldman is the grin of a man who really loved the conversation. Wonderful.
I love, both Chris Harris and Gary Oldman. Great interview.
There’s more to Mr Harris than just sliding cars about isn’t there , a very talented man 👍

I liked that line, too. It was very cheeky. 😅😅
For the avoidance of any doubt everything Chris does he does brilliantly
And now you can add chat show host to the list.

Gary Oldmen?
Schizophrenic?

Gary Oldmens ..
I wouldn’t call this an interview….it’s a conversation. Nicely done. Oldman is my favorite actor. Loved him in the 5th Element. 👍🏻

they make a fantastic combo in conversation! take note--from two great storytellers on how its done in lights camera action

Chris Harris is by far the best presenter Top Gear ever had, great at interviews too. I hope he gets to continue Top Gear!
Gary Oldman is absolutely brilliant.
Gary is looking a lot like another of my favorite actors, the late Michael Lonsdale, specifically his look in Ronin.
Chris Harris, need to give the world more of these nice sitdowns... ❤️❤️
I needed this. One of my favorite car journalist talking with one of my favorite actors about my favorite subject: cars. This is heaven 😁

Chris .....you really enjoyed interviewing Gary didn't you ? What a beautiful piece of TV that was ..... absolutely fantastic 👏 👌 😀 👍 🙌
Phenomenal interview. What a delightful person. Goes without saying , an amazing actor. Highly underrated.
Brilliant interview Chris! Love the combination of Gary the petrolhead and Chris the OCD car-guy. Really works well. Please TopGear, more like this.
Such a good sitdown and chat about cars with one of my favourite actors of all time. Such a charming and interesting guy.
We need more , a LOT more of these !
Fantastic interview, great guest, and his new series is just sublime.
Bought the book after watching Slow Horses. Gary makes the programme. Compelling viewing and of course Chris Harris, quality interview as usual.
I could watch these two all day
Chris could most definitely do a series of these, and I for one would watch the lot.
Great review ,Gary is probably my favorite actor and like him my first car was a Morris minor in that light blue colour!
You had me when you both recall the shear driver joy in pressing the overdrive button on the shift lever.
This was a great interview. You should do more like this Chris, but not sure who you could interview next
Love Gary Oldman.
Absolutely wonderful stuff!
Loving Slow Horses so far & the combination of classic car talk is a joy!
Love Chris Harris interviews
Those Following Chris since he was a tin pot car reviewer, rejoice!
Nice to see the guy grow in this space

Loving Slow Horses, man is killing it as Lamb! Love that character!
I would be very happy for this to become a more regular thing, as long as the guests like their cars of course. This was great.
Please do more of these interviews.

Slow Horses is a cracking show. What a cool guy, legendary in True Romance, Leon, Tinker Tailor, and Our Darkest Hour 😎
I met Gary 30 years ago back when he was Gary Youngman
There's another joke about when Gary was young he was Gary Numan🙂
As for this interview and in the words of Chris Harris. “What a thing!”
