This is a really inspiring story! A true testament to how reptiles can help people and what strong willpower can do! Thanks for documenting this Dāv!
Yep, Dian
Would you ship me a male up in Ontario?please anyone know where to find baby beardie as young as can be in Ontario Canada? Help please
@@justasmallltowngirlll check morph market for your area
I wouldnt have a job if it wasnt for reptiles as my anxiety is pretty bad especially around people i dont know autism doesnt help either but if reptiles are brought up i can hold a conversation and not feel awkward im normally very quite around people or new people except when it comes to reptiles right now i just have ball pythons blue and red tegus and a female blue tongue i need a male but i also did breed bearded dragons but the people around here that deal with them or want them tend to be dicks or not know what their doing and want another for free and or money back when it was not my fault you left crickets in the cage and it died due to the wound because i have care sheets printed out for each animal i sell i also talk to them amd let them know what to do and what not to do and a main one for baby bearded dragons is dont leave crickets in the cage unless theirs plenty of food but even then i dont because ive had them dp the same thing even whem their was strawberries and veggies in the cage
A little anole kept me semi sane after my 14 year old dog passed. It hit me so hard with having major depressive disorder. My grandson won an anole at a fair while staying at my house. I stated it was now mine.
I have 2 years sober from opiate addiction for 5 years. I have to say my pets and my plants have 100% helped in my recovery!! Awesome inspirational story!!
I’m currently trying to kick adderall. Just seeing this comment helps me push forward!
My monitor rescued me after I agreed to foster him. Ended up not letting him go. Had him as my best friend for many years.
Same. Pets and plants have healed my soul from the damage I did to myself with drugs and alcohol. They're MY caretakers, not the other way around.
@@DEXTERMORGANXBOXwhen I read this comment and the few before it I started laughing….pets and plants saved my dumb ass too! My plant collection has scaled back some now but it still resembles a small jungle. Cats and 2 axolotls are the resident pets. I kicked a 5 year opiate addiction when I started focusing my attention on the things around me that I could take care of and in the process learned to take care of myself. I expected to see a lot of animal comments but the plant comments blew me away.
as an aussie its so nice to hear someone wanting to improve the lifespan of beardies and also the contract. this dude is a bloody legend
I called my first beardie Aussie lol
I suffer from depression and sometimes the only way I can make myself get out of bed is knowing that my bearded dragon needs me to feed him. I love my jasper. He keeps me going.
I assume jasper is the bearded dragon innyour profile pic
@ThatsDurrty yup, he turned 5 this year, that is his baby picture.
I just got my beardie as a present from my brother(ive been talking about getting a beardie for over a year) and every day I get up for him, to spend time with him even when it's hard. Does it ever ease? I'm stuck in the "it's always gonna be this bad forever" place with my depression.
@makadamianutt it has helped me. Sometimes he really is the only thing that makes me get out of bed because I know there is nobody else to care for him. He depends on me and I guess I need that in my life. Ya know someone to depend on me but without any drama lol. I hope your little buddy helps you get through the hard times. Sometimes getting a nice little snuggle from him also helps. ☺️ even if he only tolerates it for so long 😅
My daughter suffers from extreme anxiety and depression, and it is no exaggeration to say her leopard gecko has saved her life. Giving her some thing to focus on and care for is amazing.
Savannah monitor saved mine and my doctor filed the necessary paperwork to make him my ESA.
I have a bearded dragon named Sweetheart. She's a year old. I have an ESA for her for my depression, anxiety, and bio-polar.
I loved to hear how he went from rock bottom so living life to the fullest again. Super inspiring.
What an incredible guy and story! It's always inspiring to hear people breaking out of addiction, it takes true strength...
You don't think he still has an addiction? Pretty one dimensional of you
@@murrijuana2842 That's not what I meant, and I think you knew that. I am struggling with addiction myself, though not with any substance addiction. I know it never goes away, but breaking away from it is a very accurate description of what you have to do: you have to break away from what connects you to the addiction. Also some, but not all, addictions are both physical and psychological, the physical withdrawals are usually the easiest to break, and those can be hell. The psychological ones though... those are the ones that really get you.
If you are also struggling with addiction, I wish you all the best and all the strength in the world. Lift people up, it will help you feel better as well, you win nothing by putting people down.
Thank you!!
@@murrijuana2842 not everyone stays addicted I been sober for idk 5 or 6 years drugs are a block away. A phone call both my daughters have eds I will have to watch them die in their 20s just like there mom. If I am sober anybody can be
I bought a dragon a couple of months ago and she was a sweetheart I took her out side and I am not sure what happened but she got down and I am in a wheelchair and it got ran over I was just going crazy and crying and she died the next day I was just going through it, and I will not be getting another one until I get my operation so I can take care of it properly. I have to say that I still miss her she actually had a bed and I would like say it is time for bed and she will get over there and go to sleep I have never had a dragon like this before. I did go and get another one but I couldn't get it to be a good fit for me so I took him back and before we got there the dragon bit me he had to know what was going on but I think someone would be a better fit than me. I went through the same thing as you.
I have a bearded dragon and ball python. Interactions with my animals are my happiest moments and have gotten me through some dark days
Yup. These aren’t just pets
My fiance' jokes that I love my bullsnake more than her. I obviously don't but holding her has a calming effect that I can't really explain and it really helps me on bad days.
This video is my favorite one you put out. I was seriously addicted to opiates for over 20 years, went to treatment 5 times and have 6 felony convictions. I’m now 61 years old, just got my first 2 reptiles (2 Ball Pythons) and have been clean for 19 years. Opiate withdrawal is the worst, painful experience I’ve ever been through…I wanted to die. My life is better than I ever could’ve imagined now. I’ve owned my own business for 15 years, own my own home, truck and travel trailer. For anyone going through an addiction, like this man said, you CAN get through it and have a good life. Congratulations on your recovery and your Beardie’s are gorgeous!!! Thank you Dav, for this video!!🦎❤️🦎
That dude is a human role model for just about everyone. Animals saved my life as well...their the only ones that could of changed my mind. Gave me what I needed to wanna stay.
Beardies are absolutely the best! My first, Hermione, helped me recover from an emotional trauma where I was unable to sleep, couldn't leave my own house without debilitating panic attacks and could barely eat. I would cuddle and obsessively pet her and she calmed me down. She was always there when I needed her, giving so much love and comfort that I was eventually able to leave my house as long as she was with me. People suck. Bearded dragons are better than people.
Dav... definitely one of the best episodes you’ve done. Hats off to you and this gentleman for what he’s done. Being someone who is in AA, I see a miracle in this guy and I think he’s going to do great things with his life. Thanks again Dav for a great show. Keep up the good work!!!!!
Thank you!
An inspiring story. This is the difference between back yard and reputable breeders.
So touching and inspirational! I adore my 13 y.o. beardie, Rufus. He came from a breeder as a baby, and I’m not looking forward to the time without him. I’m too old to get another.
I love that you shared this story. So many people don't realize how hard it is to turn your life around once addiction starts, so showing it is possible is very important.
Very true and that’s why I made it
This guy is such a fantastic example to the reptile community. This is how everyone should treat the animals that they breed. It’s how I greet the pet rats I breed. Such an inspiring guy. I wish him all the best in the world.
Wow. So much here. One of the best, most honest, most humbling stories ever told in the herping hobby. Love the care he gives to his animals. Love the offer he makes to others struggling with addiction. This is an amazing man with amazing animals.
Very heartwarming stuff, both with regards to this man's attention to looking after the dragons, and also his story of recovery. Put a smile on my face!
The bit about Beardie genetic health and lifespan stuck out to me... My dragon passed away from, we think, cancer (It was some kind of lump that had grown on his liver), when he was 6. And I've heard of several other issues dragons could have.
But I think they're very special critters and make wonderful companions. I'd love to see them living long, healthy lives more often.
As a recovering addict myself, and share the same doc, thank you for your vulnerability! You have me in tears! I, too, have lost so many to this damn disease! Keep spending the word of recovery, and your work is amazing. Recently, I lost my bearded dragon, who was a rescue and wasn't in great health, and he was my baby. So seeing this and hearing your story, has hit hard on many levels! I can't thank you enough! Much love and success to you. ODAAT!
Kudos to you, Liam! Also to Dav, for making this video happen. I have several relatives who have beaten addicitons. Alcohol, herion, etc. You guys are a real inspiration, and I hope someone who needs that sees this and takes a different path. Well done!
What a great individual. I love that he's producing these beautiful beardies and sharing about his experience with addiction and how it lead where he is now. Way to go!
What a great breeder....how he cares for his animals, even taking them back. The story behind all of that....thanks for telling this story.
I would like to offer you love and continued strength in your recovery! You made some very courageous and hard choices and you are winning your fight. Please, please, stay the course. I know recovery is a life long journey, as I am sure you do too. I am so proud of you, even though we don't know each other. From one human to another, who just happens to care and is compassionate towards people with the disease of addiction, I believe in you. Sending love from Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦 ❤️ p.s. I am a slave to 6 beardies myself. I have not struggled with addiction but it has affected my life. I am a single, disabled mum of 3 kids. Beardies really help me through PTSD as well as my many diagnosis. My animals help me on a whole new level and I think we are both cut from the same cloth in that regard. I have a clutch in an incubator right now, even though I don't get success. I will keep trying. Anyhow, just wanted to add that about me to let you know that you aren't the only one who's life is enriched by these beautiful creatures. They also bring my kids and I closer too.
Awesome story. All it takes is turning that addictive mind into a positive direction and the world is endless.
He turned all that negative destructive energy towards something positive and has some amazing animals to show for it instead of pain and shame.
Congratulations on turning your life around, it's not easy. Awesome. Thanks Dave for doing this video and bringing this story to us!
So inspiring. I'm so glad to see that he was able to find something that he loves that was able to turn his life around. Beautiful animals and amazing story.
From one addict to another I know how hard it is to get clean and stay clean. Very happy for you. I've been clean for six years this September. Had to hit rock bottom. I have sever PTSD and the doctor said I had been self medicating. As soon as I can get a proper setup I want to get one. God bless you and keep doing what you're doing.
This is a awesome story about his life and how this precious Bearded Dragons can save lives. I hope this story helps others to get free from their addictions. I love how he offered to be there to help people who are going through what he did.
GOD BLESS 🦎💖🦎💖🦎💖
I truly hope it helps atleast one person and gives hope to anyone struggling whether with addiction or mental health!…Thank you!!
Thanks Dav for giving him a spotlight he deserves it. Kudos to you and him😊
Mr Liam is out here with the kindest heart and such incredible thought and care that he gives to each of his dragons. The way he is breeding to promote health and longevity, but still accommodates everyone's needs in the reptile room...what a star. If you have the ability to adopt and provide a good life to a bearded dragon, please contact breeders, vets, or try to sponsor if you are able. Thank you Liam for your dedication to helping beardie owners imagine how to spend the most years possible with their silly/fierce lizards.
Thank you both so much for this video and allowing us the privilege to hear your story! Hearing you discuss these beautiful animals and how interested and excited you get inspires the same feelings in me. And how you go about your business practices Liam is awe-inspiring and should be an industry standard for all breeders. Keep being amazing and RATTLE ON!
Dav my brother this is another reason why u got the most underrated channel on utube. This is a great story and keep your head up Liam and stay focused so glad u turned everything around and hope u will inspire more to do the same. Rattleon my brothers
What a beautiful experience and such an inspiring and important story! The amount of care, love, and devotion that goes into those dragons is amazing! They were all so handleable and active! This video was truly beautiful!
I got mine in December and he had literally saved my life. I have serious mental health issues and would never get out of bed and wanted to die.
Yoshi has given me so much in love and needing care himself. That has help starting down the path to better mental health. Now if only I could get him to eat greens ,
Veggies, and fruit. Vet told me to use baby food till he starts eating greens and veggies. Syringe feeding is nearly impossible on a stubborn dragon.
Great breeder, and thanks for loving on the normal type morphs… they don’t get anywhere near enough attention. Loved seeing the dragons in big, well kept tanks, too… breeders should all strive for this. And mostly, congratulations on achieving sobriety! That’s a real achievement.
LIAM!!!!! I love you buddy!!! I'm so greatful people like you are out there looking after the best interests of these precious animals. My beardie boy's name is Paisley. He's a rescue, just like me. You see, he helped saved me from the same thing your beardies helped save you from. My dream is to be able to make a living caring for animals like you do. Thank you for sharing this story Dave, thank you so much to you both for modeling the kind of integrity that I wish described everyone involved in animal hobbies.
Love this guy!! This is what keeping should be!!
I quit drinking 6 years ago, now I have my beardies to help keep me sober and alive too, plus I can’t afford to be an alcoholic now that I have beardies lol they helped save me too. But same same, I had to hit bottom and want to quit before it was possible, it took 7 years of half-arse trying before it was possible. I believe it’s up to us recovered to share our experiences, so that others may know it’s possible too. Thx for sharing Liam! These are Amazing critters. God bless you! You did it!
Random: the background noises, is what you hear when keeping dragons, lol it’s so soothing to me, I hear it here and I jump up to see what their up to, they don’t like pooping in their enclosures, so it’s sometimes a sign they need out to poop lol
Us addicts were meant for more in life, some of us are given the chance to find out what 🥰
So proud of guys like this.
True courage and a huge heart.
Wow that was deep. Respect to this guy for really turning his life around and to the beardies that helped him do it 💪
I am editing my mental health video like this, I had to stop myself from crying over your store, I had a toxic job, no drugs, but it was a pharmaceutical job, and my dragons pulled me through it, I lost one and the other helped pull me through that, I just love hearing that bearded dragons are saving more people
Best video yet Dav... what is needed for the world of captive animals and also humans... love, care and hope!
What a great video! RATTLE ON!!! SO GOOD TO SEE THIS YOUNG MAN CHANGE OF LIFE!
Agreed!
My reptiles are a huge part of my recovery, they help me keep grounded and give me a reason to keep going on a good path. This is a great story and inspires many! 😊
I've been sober 4.5 years now from heroin and other drugs. Animals, reptiles have def been a part of that. Congratz on the sobriety man. Finding the purpose is key for many of us.
Has Liam got any pages I can follow he’s such an inspiration! And I love that he wants to breed to make them healthier! I’ve got health issues and just got my first beardie and I’m completely obsessed with him! They’re amazing!! ❤❤
I would like the same information please. I think it’s wonderful what he is doing. I hope he is still doing this. I have one and I’ve had mine for 2 yrs. Never did I ever think I would have any kind of reptiles in my life but I have a beardie and I love him so much. He’s been a comfort to me.
God Bless You Liam! You have a beautiful family of beardies and its obvious you have so much care and love for them! So proud of you for getting on top of your addiction and allowing these beauties to get into your soul! It's a beautiful thing to see and hear you tell about! Stay strong and stay safe!
I really respect how much this guy cares about his animals.
Very inspiring . I lost my stepson , my wife’s only child to a heroin overdose Christmas Eve . We have been battling this for 10 years . Addiction is a very real thing that affects everyone in their life . I’m so glad you slayed that dragon , many many are not as fortunate . Prayers for you and your recovery, you got this !
Gosh that story really got me 😢. Thank u Dav for letting him share. What a wonderful example for changing your life around. I wish u nothing but blessings in life 💕
Wow! This guy is amazing! This is why I love your channel so much. Other people feature nothing but themselves or bully other youtubers to get views (Donny at NERD) but you focus on the keepers, thier stories and the reptiles. You're the best Dav
This man and his story are incredible. I love that he is so responsible with his animals.
What an amazing story - and well done for having the strength to know and do what you needed to do. Your Dragons are beautiful and I couldn't love the viewpoints of the health and care of the animal being the most important thing more. Animals can make the difference in the way you view your life - I deal with hardcore depression and anxiety and there are days that if it wasn't for my little ball python I wouldn't get out of bed. That little life depends on me being able to pull my crap together and get out of my head. You are an inspiration - and thanks Dav for doing this video!
Well done young man!
I’m a 60 year old woman who freaks out at any lizard bigger than a small gecko but your lizards had me mesmerised.
Keep living your amazing life. Blessings over you.
That's wonderful for him! I can definitely relate. These animals bring me so much happiness and therapeutic care and certainly changed my life for the better too.
Firstly this video really touched me and hit home. I my self suffered from addiction many years ago. Then recently this past December I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.(a very rare cancer) I have always wanted to have a poison dart frog and finally purchased one then it became now 7 frogs. These frogs have genuinely given me a drive to keep fighting. I have had a deep passion and love for frogs my whole life. Eventually they will be passed to my daughter who has the same passion but at this time besides my family these frogs have really helped me in so many different ways. Taking care of these frogs have been just an amazing fun experience and I truly hope others can have the same experience and love for animals an I ln return change there life in some way.
Thank you for telling your story! Really found this so encouraging. One of the best videos I've ever seen in UA-cam
Thank you for sharing your story!!!! Finding something to keep u busy something to keep your mind focused. You are so brave keep up the good fight !!!!
Thank you for sharing your story! I am glad you made it past the addiction and have changed your life around. Also thank you for being a wonderfully responsible caring caretaker and breeder!
Hats off to Liam !. I thought he was a great guy because of his passion for bearded dragons. He so does it the right way. I would definitely buy one from him. Then hearing his inspirational story is just so great. One of my favorite videos of yours Dav and I watch and like them all . Really thank you for this one . Great job
This is such a touching story! Very inspiring! Wishing him all the best! There needs to be more people like him in the world, people that can fight the struggle of addiction and turn their lives around. We’re slowly working towards breeding dragons within the next couple years! We’ve always bred leopard geckos but there’s just something so special about beardies. I can fully see how bearded dragons could help change someone’s life. They definitely make the perfect campions!
What an inspiring story! Thank you for sharing with us!
Really rad that he keeps them all in cool cages! Also wow his selling process is amazing, that’s how it needs to be done with reptiles. Also much love to that guy, I have 3 and half years clean
Agree!
Thank you!! Keep pushing forward my guy you got this! Much love
That was a fantastic story. So very proud of him. He’s also got some amazing Bearded Dragons. They are all so beautiful. Thank you for sharing this story with us. 🙌
My Sav monitor served as my certified ESA for several years. He beat the odds because as you probably know mortality rate for them is higher than 90% in the 1st year of captivity alone! Came to me as a hatchling that fit in the center of the palm of my hand. Lost him almost a year ago and the enormous hole in my heart remains. He honestly saved my life from myself more than a couple of times when times were exceptionally bleak and I was very sick. I want another companion animal perhaps a dragon. My Sav was 5+ ft and the best boy ever. Can't go through another heartbreak like I have been through though. Am getting older so maybe a beardie would be best. Captive bred is the only way to go and from a reputable breeder. This guy I hope still breeds and I can adopt one of his. ❤😊❤
Loved his story. You can just tell he is a good guy he cares so much and it heartwarming to see
To Liam. Animals Are THE best aren't they. Thanks for sharing this Dav.🤗🤗🤗
Good for him! We all make mistakes, what matters is he learned from it. And beautiful animals.
Exactly
It's so wonderful that you're willing to help other people. Praise you. Peace.
Awesome Liam! So happy you found your way! We have 2 Dragons and they are part of our family!
This is awesome! I'm also glad to see there's an ethical breeder in MN! There's something about beardies, once you own one they win your heart forever. I'm glad they saved you.
I’m from mn and I LOVE this video !! I could not tell you how many people come into the pet store I work at saying their beardie hates them or being handled when mine will cuddle into me. I know they have different personalities but I feel like a majority of it is mishandling. I have a normal morph and she is the most beautiful baby I’ve ever had :)
Without the “twist” this would’ve been just another bearded dragon video. Good job Dāv.
This is one of the few times I've seen someone keeping dragons on youtube who isn't doing a single thing that makes me cringe. Even the choice of loose substrate for the one female makes sense for her. I try so hard to make content to help dragon owners improve their husbandry, and I'm curious about the dragons who only live to be 5 or so years old. Anytime I've seen photos of a set up for a dragon someone just lost, who was 5 or so years old, they are doing something in their husbandry that could have been improved - like sand or reptile carpet, bad lighting, or the dragon was overweight. I love what this man is doing, I love his story, and I hope he continues to do well. Thank you so much for this video!
This is your best video (that I've seen thus far), Dāv. Kudos to Liam for his perseverance. ¡Fuerza!
Animals in general are great for sobriety. Having something else to take care of is great motivation for taking care of yourself. I'm two years sober and I didn't get sober because of animals but since I've been living alone I've gotten twelve animals in about a year and fully credit them with staying sober.
Hell yeah keep going!
Awesome story and as a beardy lover this is amazing to see. Great work Liam and pray all goes well your way. Thank you Dave
So proud of you!! What an inspiring story! I'm so obsessed with my baby dragon and call him my emotional support dragon and know exactly why they helped you. Mine is my everything. Sending light and love dear! Thank you for sharing!!
Liam I am so proud of how far you’ve come! I am so happy to see you like this instead of how you were before! I miss you friend!
dude what an awesome story!!! i couldnt stop drinking until i decided for myself to stop. hes so right when he says it has to be you to decide. man i wanna shake that dudes hand. i wanna give him a hug. what a cool dude and what a badass!!
Awesome story and a very reputable breeder! This shows how animals can change your life
Mad respect dude! Thank you for what you're doing for these animals and teaching us to do better. Congrats on your recovery. Stay strong brother.
What an amazing video. The love and dedication to his animals is truly amazing.
Really really inspiring story.
Glad to see ppl who really care about animals plus overcoming their own problems too 😊
Gorgeous beardies. They all look happy and are obviously very well cared for by a truly incredible guy. Definitely one of the best bearded dragon videos I've seen even though I don't understand all of the different breeds. Thank you for sharing your personal life experience. Namaste
I am truly convinced that many reptile owners and breeders would be falling down a terrible path if it weren’t for these amazing creatures. They force you to reevaluate the world and inspire you to fulfill fill your passions. Im glad you were able to highlight this story.
Wonderful to see people make a change for the better.
I relate to this story a LOT, in a different way. I had always been interested in reptiles and even had a couple as a kid, but a few years back, I was in a really dark place, struggling with serious mental health stuff, and I honestly didn’t want to be alive anymore. But I knew I couldn’t do that to my family, so I started looking for a reason to stick around… and that’s when I got my first reptile as an adult, a bearded dragon. He absolutely without a doubt saved my life. He not only gave me a reason to live, but a reason to get out of bed each morning, not sleeping in till 3… he gave me purpose and comfort and everything I needed. Now, years later, I have five beardies, 4 leopard geckos, and a Uromastyx, and so much love in my heart for all of them. They saved my life, so I will always do everything I can to give them the best life. It’s so nice to hear the story of someone else who was saved by their beardies ❤️
Blessings! I am so happy for you and all us bearded dragon lovers!
Absolutely very inspiring story I been down that same road now I have 19 ball pythons a bearded dragon and a leopard gecko breeding ball pythons is my hobby and I love it!
Liam seems awesome!!! Doing it for the love of the animals which is the only way to do it! Amazing story!!! Thank you so much for sharing, Liam!
Thanks for sharing this extraordinary soul! May God continue to bless his journey with these dragons and his sobriety. Enjoy this life man!
Completely inspired and I'm so grateful for this video.
Beautiful story. Thankful that you are doing something you are passionate about. You have some really beautiful beardies.
God bless you.
Much respect for this dude.
Very uplifting to hear that story I know so many young people on drugs that run their lives this gives me hope that it can be done great video
Great story! When my kids got a bearded dragon I’m the one that feel in love. She’s such a sweetie and makes me so happy.
Great video! not that I expect anyone to see this comment but the second he mentioned his inability to lie, I'm suspecting Liam may be on the ASD spectrum (like myself), which to me, at least somewhat explains why he is so conscientious about everything he does with the dragons. It's that higher empathy, the connection to animals, the attention to detail, the special interest in general. Just love to see it. Even a year later after this vid was made.
What an inspiring story. Hoping to breed a line or morph of certain bearded dragon by myself since ive been loving them since i was a child and been taking care of diff reptiles eversince. Nice video! Beautiful journey
I love this, what an amazing man and story.
