I just got my beardie as a present from my brother(ive been talking about getting a beardie for over a year) and every day I get up for him, to spend time with him even when it's hard. Does it ever ease? I'm stuck in the "it's always gonna be this bad forever" place with my depression.
@makadamianutt it has helped me. Sometimes he really is the only thing that makes me get out of bed because I know there is nobody else to care for him. He depends on me and I guess I need that in my life. Ya know someone to depend on me but without any drama lol. I hope your little buddy helps you get through the hard times. This video is my favorite one you put out. I was seriously addicted to opiates for over 20 years, went to treatment 5 times and have 6 felony convictions. I’m now 61 years old, just got my first 2 reptiles (2 Ball Pythons) and have been clean for 19 years. Opiate withdrawal is the worst, painful experience I’ve ever been through…I wanted to die. My life is better than I ever could’ve imagined now. I’ve owned my own business for 15 years, own my own home, truck and travel trailer. For anyone going through an addiction, like this man said, you CAN get through it and have a good life. Congratulations on your recovery and your Beardie’s are gorgeous!!! Thank you Dav, for this video!!🦎❤️🦎
That dude is a human role model for just about everyone. Animals saved my life as well...their the only ones that could of changed my mind. Gave me what I needed to wanna stay.

What an amazing story - and well done for having the strength to know and do what you needed to do. Your Dragons are beautiful and I couldn't love the viewpoints of the health and care of the animal being the most important thing more. Beardies are absolutely the best! My first, Hermione, helped me recover from an emotional trauma where I was unable to sleep, couldn't leave my own house without debilitating panic attacks and could barely eat. I would cuddle and obsessively pet her and she calmed me down. She was always there when I needed her, giving so much love and comfort that I was eventually able to leave my house as long as she was with me. People suck. Bearded dragons are better than people.

Great breeder, and thanks for loving on the normal type morphs… they don’t get anywhere near enough attention. Loved seeing the dragons in big, well kept tanks, too… breeders should all strive for this. And mostly, congratulations on achieving sobriety! That’s a real achievement.
Wow! This guy is amazing! This is why I love your channel so much. Other people feature nothing but themselves or bully other youtubers to get views (Donny at NERD) but you focus on the keepers, thier stories and the reptiles. You're the best Dav
From one addict to another I know how hard it is to get clean and stay clean. Very happy for you. I've been clean for six years this September. Had to hit rock bottom. I have sever PTSD and the doctor said I had been self medicating. As soon as I can get a proper setup I want to get one. God bless you and keep doing what you're doing.
What an inspiring story. Hoping to breed a line or morph of certain bearded dragon by myself since ive been loving them since i was a child and been taking care of diff reptiles eversince. Nice video! Beautiful journey
I would like to offer you love and continued strength in your recovery! You made some very courageous and hard choices and you are winning your fight. Please, please, stay the course. I know recovery is a life long journey, as I am sure you do too. I am so proud of you, even though we don't know each other. From one human to another, who just happens to care and is compassionate towards people with the disease of addiction, I believe in you. Sending love from Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦 ❤️ p.s. I am a slave to 6 beardies myself. I have not struggled with addiction but it has affected my life. I am a single, disabled mum of 3 kids. Beardies really help me through PTSD as well as my many diagnosis. My animals help me on a whole new level and I think we are both cut from the same cloth in that regard. I have a clutch in an incubator right now, even though I don't get success. I will keep trying. Anyhow, just wanted to add that about me to let you know that you aren't the only one who's life is enriched by these beautiful creatures. They also bring my kids and I closer too.
That was a fantastic story. So very proud of him. He’s also got some amazing Bearded Dragons. They are all so beautiful. Thank you for sharing this story with us. 🙌
As a recovering addict myself, and share the same doc, thank you for your vulnerability! You have me in tears! I, too, have lost so many to this damn disease! Keep spending the word of recovery, and your work is amazing. Recently, I lost my bearded dragon, who was a rescue and wasn't in great health, and he was my baby. So seeing this and hearing your story, has hit hard on many levels! I can't thank you enough! Much love and success to you. ODAAT!
Gorgeous beardies. They all look happy and are obviously very well cared for by a truly incredible guy. Definitely one of the best bearded dragon videos I've seen even though I don't understand all of the different breeds. Thank you for sharing your personal life experience. Namaste
When he was talking about housing the females together I totally agree. I had a female that was super depressed when she was by herself and wouldn’t eat. I think she was kept with others before I got her but not sure if they were male or female. It made me depressed watching her so I ended up giving her to a good buddy that had a male and her whole demeanor changed. She turned into a totally different lizard and it was really awesome to see. She ended up having several clutches but my buddy was never really successful with the eggs. I think out of all the clutches he only had 2 or 3 hatch and none survived to adulthood. The male ended up passing and then she snooped eating again and eventually passed herself. It shows you how emotional these creatures are. Those 2 dragons had a special bond. I think they were together about 10 years and we think they were probably 15-17 when they passed. They are some of the best pets and I would love to have more in the future.
Hats off to Liam !. I thought he was a great guy because of his passion for bearded dragons. He so does it the right way. I would definitely buy one from him. Then hearing his inspirational story is just so great. One of my favorite videos of yours Dav and I watch and like them all . Really thank you for this one . Great job
This is such a touching story! Very inspiring! Wishing him all the best! There needs to be more people like him in the world, people that can fight the struggle of addiction and turn their lives around. We’re slowly working towards breeding dragons within the next couple years! We’ve always bred leopard geckos but there’s just something so special about beardies. I can fully see how bearded dragons could help change someone’s life. They definitely make the perfect campions!
Wow 😢 I'm and literally in tears so touching so happy to see that there is hope for us who still struggle with this disease I do have a bearded dragon and she is my therapy animal and I've thought about doing what you do I just don't know how to get there just yet I'm still struggling with them substances and trying to figure it all out but I'd know that I don't want this life and to see how you've come out of that is so inspiring thank you so much for sharing your story
Love this guy!! This is what keeping should be!! I quit drinking 6 years ago, now I have my beardies to help keep me sober and alive too, plus I can’t afford to be an alcoholic now that I have beardies lol they helped save me too. But same same, I had to hit bottom and want to quit before it was possible, it took 7 years of half-arse trying before it was possible. I believe it’s up to us recovered to share our experiences, so that others may know it’s possible too. Thx for sharing Liam! These are Amazing critters. God bless you! You did it! Random: the background noises, is what you hear when keeping dragons, lol it’s so soothing to me, I hear it here and I jump up to see what their up to, they don’t like pooping in their enclosures, so it’s sometimes a sign they need out to poop lol Us addicts were meant for more in life, some of us are given the chance to find out what 🥰
So proud of you!! What an inspiring story! I'm so obsessed with my baby dragon and call him my emotional support dragon and know exactly why they helped you. Mine is my everything. Sending light and love dear! Thank you for sharing!!
God bless you man. So glad you found your passion and I love your dragons. I started watching reptiles videos and have seen how beautiful they are and how each one has a personality and can definitely enrich a person's life, just as a dog or a cat - it's just a different kind of pet, but just fascinating. Love how you care so much and make sure that they go to a responsible and caring home. All the best to you and thanks Dav for showing us this guys amazing dragons.
The bit about Beardie genetic health and lifespan stuck out to me... My dragon passed away from, we think, cancer (It was some kind of lump that had grown on his liver), when he was 6. And I've heard of several other issues dragons could have. But I think they're very special critters and make wonderful companions. I'd love to see them living long, healthy lives more often.
Wow this is one of your best episodes Dav ! This guy is awesome, the dragons are amazing. You gave us an opportunity to relish on reptile beauties while learning about an incredible person and their story.
Mr Liam is out here with the kindest heart and such incredible thought and care that he gives to each of his dragons. The way he is breeding to promote health and longevity, but still accommodates everyone's needs in the reptile room...what a star. If you have the ability to adopt and provide a good life to a bearded dragon, please contact breeders, vets, or try to sponsor if you are able. Thank you Liam for your dedication to helping beardie owners imagine how to spend the most years possible with their silly/fierce lizards.

Wow that was deep. Respect to this guy for really turning his life around and to the beardies that helped him do it 💪
LIAM!!!!! I love you buddy!!! I'm so greatful people like you are out there looking after the best interests of these precious animals. My beardie boy's name is Paisley. He's a rescue, just like me. You see, he helped saved me from the same thing your beardies helped save you from. My dream is to be able to make a living caring for animals like you do. Thank you for sharing this story Dave, thank you so much to you both for modeling the kind of integrity that I wish described everyone involved in animal hobbies.
Great video & amazing story 👍🏻👍🏻
This is a awesome story about his life and how this precious Bearded Dragons can save lives. I hope this story helps others to get free from their addictions. I love how he offered to be there to help people who are going through what he did.
GOD BLESS 🦎💖🦎💖🦎💖
I truly hope it helps atleast one person and gives hope to anyone struggling whether with addiction or mental health!…Thank you!!
I'm in Minnesota, too. Awesome episode!! I appreciate you sharing your story!
Completely inspired and I'm so grateful for this video.
amazing story, thank you Liam for sharing.
ODAAT!
This is amazing! Thanks for sharing
Gorgeous beardies. They all look happy and are obviously very well cared for by a truly incredible guy. Definitely one of the best bearded dragon videos I've seen even though I don't understand all of the different breeds. Thank you for sharing your personal life experience. Namaste
Thanks for sharing this extraordinary soul! May God continue to bless his journey with these dragons and his sobriety. Enjoy this life man!
Mad respect dude! Thank you for what you're doing for these animals and teaching us to do better. Congrats on your recovery. Stay strong brother.
Love your story an inspiration to people and your bearded dragons are beautiful little gems
Awesome story and a very reputable breeder! This shows how animals can change your life
Loved his story. You can just tell he is a good guy he cares so much and it heartwarming to see
When he was talking about housing the females together I totally agree.
Very uplifting to hear that story I know so many young people on drugs that run their lives this gives me hope that it can be done great video
This man and his story are incredible. I love that he is so responsible with his animals.
Liam seems awesome!!! Doing it for the love of the animals which is the only way to do it! Amazing story!!! Thank you so much for sharing, Liam!
Wonderful to see people make a change for the better.
I loved this video Dav. Thank you so much.
Hell yeah, congrats on your recovery and on your new career man, love to see it
Hats off to Liam !.
What a true champion. Your a wonderful man
It's so wonderful that you're willing to help other people. Praise you. Peace.
Such an inspiring story! Thank you for sharing your story Liam! Beardie On!
Awesome Liam! So happy you found your way! We have 2 Dragons and they are part of our family!
You did it!
Random: the background noises, is what you hear when keeping dragons, lol it’s so soothing to me, I hear it here and I jump up to see what their up to, they don’t like pooping in their enclosures, so it’s sometimes a sign they need out to poop lol
Us addicts were meant for more in life, some of us are given the chance to find out what 🥰
Blessings! I am so happy for you and all us bearded dragon lovers!
To Liam. Animals Are THE best aren't they. Thanks for sharing this Dav.🤗🤗🤗
Thank you for a great story.
Thank you so much for sharing your story Liam💕
Love this. So happy you found what makes you happy and your alive because of it!
So proud of you!! What an inspiring story! I'm so obsessed with my baby dragon and call him my emotional support dragon and know exactly why they helped you. Mine is my everything. Sending light and love dear! Thank you for sharing!!
Thank you for sharing! I love the beardie shirt too! All the dragons look so amazing!
Incredible touching story things Dav
Incredible story and beautiful dragons. God bless this man.
Great encounter and great video. 👍🤘
What i like with the beardies is how they always have this annoyed judgemental look.
Liam, thank you for sharing your story.
Inspiring story, God bless.
Wow what a great story made me tear up thank u for sharing
