Oh, Drew. I really must say a massive Thank You! My son is Autistic and he’s very anxious and stressed about the schools closing and his routine being upside down. A meltdown started and I immediately reached for the phone and turned your video on. Within less than a minute, he was calm and even started to smile. We both LOVE your videos and appreciate all your efforts, tips, tricks, humour and for the inspiration. You’re fabulous, Darling.xxx

The Sorry Girls did a speckled clay video a while ago and one of their DIYs was using ground peppercorn to create a speckled look before baking the clay! I made christmas ornaments using that technique last year and it turned out amazing. Now I'm inspired to combine your crescent moon dish DIY with their peppercorn technique for that speckled look!

Time sensitive= urgent, which is different than time consuming. Only saying this because it kept throwing me off... I was waiting for the part where we needed to hurry up and get something before it's gone, like a seasonal material, lol.

I just have to ask you something. Every place you show while doing all these crafts is so light and airy . It looks like you have no junk at all. I've been doing crafts for years and years. I'm 60 years old and started crafting as a teenager. Over the years I have taken tons of craft extras to goodwill. But I still have a large stash. So tell me do you have a room or out building full of craft supplies? I don't do anywhere near of different crafts that you do. How in the world do you not have a big stash hid somewhere? Please tell! Gigi

    • @lonefox
      @lonefox  4 роки тому +55

I actually only have one large 6 drawer dresser and another smaller dresser unit that I use to store all of my craft supplies! I don't use many larger power tools or things like that so I can store most of my supplies in the 2 dresser units!

    Tips for clay projects!
Using a little bit of water prior to baking you can get rid of any finger marks or imperfections, just remember not to go overboard with the water. Just wet your finger and gently smooth it out.
If your clay needs to dry before baking (maybe your using white clay?) You can always get rid of imperfections by slowly scraping them away. If you want a perfect border it's always better to trim it while the clay is still humid, not yet dry, but not eet either.
If that doesn't work with your clay, you can always sand it a tiny bit after baking it with the lightest sanding paper you have.

That green pot is fine and actually was even better before you tried to fix it. The trick is to pair it with other shades of green, perhaps with a really obnoxiously big and bright plant, instead of beside you mellower pots. The pot will recede and bring out the contents and blend with what's behind. Great dipping tutorial!

I’ve got two projects I’m going to do. One is a line art tray. I picked a complicated line art pieces but, have no idea how to get that image onto the tray. My second one my shadow box frame got lost in the mail so, I’ve got to get them to replace it. Anyway my inspiration piece had match boxes with prints on them in a shadow box. It was too girly for me so I decided to make my own with classic horror movie post printed match boxes. I’m going to paint the outside white and the inside black. I’ve thought I might even glue felt on the inside instead of paint just to give it more texture.

on project # two, I would glue the bottom beads with the hole up, add short wooden dowels into them, and use to hold sunglasses

I'd love to see a side by side shot of your inspo and your completed diy. So we could get a good look at how much better your version is, of course. 🙂

🤗 You need to purchase a lazy Susan from Ikea just for spray painting.. It's the best tool ever. Potting plants, rotating plants, and so many other things 😘

Absolutely loved all your D.I.Y projects. The round shapes with the embroidery hoops. Fab. The clay catch all tray, for me was wow! Always enjoy your segments and thanks for the Native Deo pack...they all smell yummy.

Wow Drew! once again you have outdone yourself. I literally loved all of the projects and can't wait to try them. The terra cotta pots are my favorite because you can do the same thing only with nail polish and on a white mug or glass and it makes the coolest marble cups. You take the nail polish and put however many drops of the colors you choose and then take a toothpick and swirl the nail polish and then dip the cup in like you did the pots, I love the effect it gives. Thanks so much Drew for giving us this video to watch and recreate in these crazy times, I still have to go to work but I am limiting how much I go out other times and am around other people. Stay safe and healthy, sending much love and lots of hugs! bye for now.

Nail polish dripped into water also works well for marbling.

Just make sure you waterproof your pots inside first. Because Terra cotta is porous water will seep between the Terra cotta and the paint and make bubble and push your paint off ruining your project. I use polyurethane. You can use any waterproofing spray. You can also use the polyurethane on the outside too as a sealant if you want your paint to be long lasting. You can choose matte or glossy or semi-gloss finishes.

Oh My Drew! I’ve been using Native for almost 7 years now!!! Although, my fav is coconut and vanilla and I’ve tried so MANY! I’m currently using CYPRESS &GINGER! I do really like it a lot! I actually appreciate all of Natives products❤️ Thank you for your DIYS as well as minimal ads you’re so creative! I always wonder how you recreate things prior to watching your version. You save others so much money! Your momma has to be so proud! As am I! Take care and god bless from central Maine❤️🥰
