Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer: Sine Qua Non | Petrolicious

- Опубліковано 27 січ 2020
- When Drew Coblitz acquired a 911 that had already been reimagined by Singer Vehicle Design, the company sent a note welcoming him to the family. Just another detail, part of a long list of examples of Singer’s thoroughness when it comes to the experience of owning a car that they’ve put their stamp on. By working up a genius combination of modern engineering solutions and only the best character traits from a more analog era of Porsche, the car’s abilities exceeded Drew’s high expectations. But there was something missing.
The comprehensive approach to the aesthetic elements in addition to the mechanical ones is another reason why we’ve seen Singer builds become the defacto high watermark by which all the latest 911 hot rod projects are measured against. For Drew, the opportunity to start from scratch and work with Singer on creating his perfect 911 enticed him to do just that, and the stealth black-on-black result is featured in today’s film. Join us for a ride through Pennsylvania’s back roads, and make sure to turn up the volume.

Often I appreciate hearing an owner talk about their car. This was not one of those times
lol
"BLAH BLAH BLAH ULTIMATE USABILITY HURDURDUR"
*Not even 1200 miles on the odometer*
HA GOT EEM !
The second he said "the future of collecting" and "conduit to this group"I knew this dude is a poser .He owns a Singer for the image first and the experience of driving second .That said it is an immeasurably cool car
Cheval Nektosha I bet that statement applies for most supercar owners as well...
@@0ttoman true .It's shame that an automotive love letter has become statement of status rather than passion
i guessed that too when he mentioned that he took a car that singer had already built rather than getting one commissioned for himself
Seems to be a good driver, his lines were decent.
0ttoman the last singer 911 owner featured here was quite a down to earth driver’s guy
This was the douchiest Petrolicious yet.
Congrats!
Per Eldh it’s been probably 2 years since there’s been a good, down to earth, this $50k car is my driver kind of guy. I remember in the beginning of petrolicious, they had regular car guys with above average cars. Now it’s guys with money who in most cases buy their cars. Petrolicious has changed the demographic for the channel.
Absolutely, and he even double parked it like a true douche at that bar.
Kabbalah string on his wrist, Level 10 hipster level : Unlocked.
I’m glad I’m not the only person thinking that. The older videos were about car guys I would like to hang out with and be friends with. Like you said, this is a douchbaggy video!
Amen. Hard to top One Car to Do It All from Petrolicious. I think I’ll watch that again instead of this guy upping his Chod factor.
You lost me when he said “Future of collecting”.. which is telling me that this is all about bragging rights first, then the joy of driving this car... that guy is just another rich douch
I love how the community, as a whole, hates this guy. He looks like a guy that tells people he drives a 911 and never forgets to include it's been reimagined.
Correction:
"... never forgets to include He and Singer reimagined it, mostly it was his ideas though more than Singer"
He reminds me of one of those guys that shows up to a Porsche Owners Club or any car event and all the other members groan in agony because he annoys them so much. Money can buy you all kinds of cool things but it can’t make you cool.
He seems like the kind of guy who tells you all about how the car feels through his backside, and then you notice he's sitting on one phone in each back pocket.
Lahm Le one thing is for sure though, we can joke and make fun all we want, at the end of the day he’s the one that owns a one of a kind Singer 911. I don’t know about anyone else but I certainly can’t afford one right now and probably won’t anytime soon unless I win the lottery.
@@porscheguy09 yeah i'd much prefer to him in the video, and not one of us in the comments section
I love all the comments about this guy. Puts a smile on my face.
Love the car. But the scene in the tavern almost looked like a parody of a Petrolicious video lol
He also just left his cup of cocoa on the bench and walked away ..
Michael C. Brown Yeah, that was odd, and I’m thinking while watching that some poor bastard sat down on it later.
That was very douchey.
That was weird, but the Whip is an awesome British pub/restaurant.
the close-up of the watch made me cringe a bit
This video didn't procure any special feeling compared with the first videos the channel made. It kind of feel mainstream and already seen in the dialogue. Still a lot of work done for this content but not as satisfying as before to see petrolicious videos...
Still better than most
dont be the guy who leaves his cup randomly in the coffee shop, put it in the to-wash bin >.>
Thank you for noticing, that irritated me almost as much as when 2 seconds later I saw he was double parked there.
@@yoseppijoe next time I go to The Whip, I'll park right behind him.

Singer must have hired the old marketing dept from the Olive Garden, “When you’re here (and have millions of disposable dollars) you’re family”
This guy is a collector "specialist" of fine cars, watches, etc. While I love Singers, the fact that they basically had an expose on him and a zoomed-in shot of his watch makes me gag a little. We're here for the cars Petro, not the people. Please don't forget that.
And of all richard mille , WOW said every rapper and footballer. what taste.
ポテンシャルの高いスポーツヵ-ですね✨
I kind of rolled my eyes when I heard the source for the title. The watch shot was on the nose though.
@@TheJonny2you But rappers and footballers do so much for our society! Haha only kidding...
@@cookiehead2 Should have shown how thick his wallet is....
100% confident this guy goes home to smell his own farts.
i agree
once they flashed his watch I paused the video to read the comments and yup.....everyone is on the same page
literally did the exact same thing lmao
Too much yapping. I just wanted to see the car.
I can't believe this dude's Singer has barely over 1000 miles on the odometer. That's like 5 drives for me in my M Coupe!
Oh god! He loves the sound of his own voice doesn’t he! 🥱
Stunning vehicles but unfortunately their cost is an element that spoils them and makes them a rich kids play thing. Even this video was more the owner than the car. Pity, as it's the car we came here for.
Body-kitted 316-shed regular 911’s aren’t for the financially weak either
Jrew I know. Even 996's are on the up and my E30 M3 was sold because I couldn't justify having so much cash wrapped up in a single vehicle. I missed the boat on air cooled 911/912 and still kick myself about the '68 912 I missed for £1000 and the SWB 911 Sport for £7000! I couldn't afford either at that time though. Nowadays I have a 1602 BMW but I hope never to sell that as I've had an 02 for well over 30 years now. Even they're silly money nowadays. When I got my first they were cheap bangers nobody wanted!
Body-kitted 316-shed I had. a 911 targa that I miss badly myself wish I would of kept it sadly you as you both said unless you get one that needs lots of work, they are Outrageously priced. 914s seem to be about the only ones one can buy without taking out a loan on ones house.
Kevin Norwood My big brother bought a new 1973 911 Targa when I was 16 and let me take off with it for an hour. Funnest car I have ever driven! Nothing like the whine and roar of an air cooled 911.
Kevin Norwood - I had a wide arched 914 many years ago. I wish I had it now. Being non original I’d do a Subaru engine swap and use it on track! Only other Porsche I’ve owned was a 924 and I loved the psychedelic interior.😎 Just needed more power!
This guys a hedge fund manager and I tend to believe those are some of the worst people in the world. However this is an excellent car.
Hedgefund manager in his early 30s? Jesus.. must either be really intelligent or really well connected (I.e fathers in the business). The latter is almost always true.
A. I just left the hedge industry after 15 years and can tell you they're all horrible.
B. At that age he's definitely a trust fund kid.
I thought that immediately . The solipsism and fetishistic acquisitiveness suggested the sense of entitlement so characteristic of hedge fund managers etc. Poker faced posers for whom passion is a luxury they can not buy or access.
@@frankieclifton ooooo solipsism! Good word. That said, kudos to this "poser" for buying a proper analogue car no?
Stig Rossi seems like its more of a fashion accessory to him..although props to him for driving it.
Richie Rich actually put fuel in his own car
And risked dripping it on the paint job. I'd open the frunk.
Petrolicious has become to feel more like I'm watching the owner's privately hired wedding videographer shoot the exact shots they wanted with the music they choose rather than the owner's love letter turned into video form like it used to.
I can’t with this dude. Great car but come on.
exactly. read my post
Finally a video where you don't have everyone complaining about the music and lack of engine noise... oh wait, everyone hates the rich owner. I liked this video for the great engine noises, and the Pennsylvania scenery.
what an amazing sound!!
Really bad name. It's one of those where you are forced to ask what it means and then you are trapped talking to this schnoz
Air cooled 911 guys who have never wrenched on anything in their lives are the new most annoying guys.
Only the ones who take themselves to seriously, plenty don’t. Besides...the most annoying guys are the ones who are really into their watches...and pose so as to try and make them prominent.
Didn’t you hear him say that he worked with Singer to build it. 🙄
I want to genuinely slap him
@@uppastdawn7627 By "worked with singer" he meant "I want it like that. Here's the money". Believe me I know, I'm an interior designer. Clients think that they always know what's best.
@@uppastdawn7627 lol
Only 1150km on the clock? If I had a car like this it would be my mileage after 1day 💩
And he said it gets driven CONSTANTLY... haha
Ha good spot. 😂 Fair weather driver
Haha... exactly!!! I would give a kidney for that car!
Exactly he if he has the time to drive the car he drives it.
Beyond beautiful, elegant, and badass!
What a sound, smashing that car in a straight line through every curve!
Thank you Petrolicious! :D
Great car, great roads.
Great, great car, nicely done!
absolutely gorgeous machine
A shot to let us know the guy has a Richard Mille watch too? Seriously? I nearly threw up.
"I'm worried about my image, I can't wash my car."
What a stunning 911.
Beautiful, stunning beautiful 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Gosh, I had high hopes for that. I lasted until 2:34. What poncey guff. Who revs a hand built engine that hard from cold? Someone who doesn’t know...
Love this car
The car 👍. The guy 👎.
Lovely spec!
Wish they waited to release this on April fools day. I think the directors couldn't help themselves, and made this video exactly what it should've been, so we can all get a good chuckle.
Pennsylvania roads representin!
It is beautifull!

Less than 1200 miles on the odometer?! That tells you all you need to know. The Village People playing In the Navy on the sound system
Coooool car, I would love driving one of these.
Beautifully shot.......
People love the fantasy of a vintage car. Singer creates this beautifully
This is amazing, this is right in my back yard! I drive these very roads in my e30, I visit the whip all the time, man I hope I get to see this car there!
Roads look great, you should put some clips up of you with your e30, I’d watch
MLT there will be a full oem+ partial restoration happening on it soon! I’ll be making a step by step video of the whole progress and will be filming lots of driving videos afterwards!
Cameron Adams That is right up my alley I look forward watching, subbed
Looks like a hipster joint ..
Cool car. Nice wrist watch. Well groomed. You must be very proud. Play on player
What a beautiful car
Thanks Petrolicious!
Perfection.
Cheers man!
Some damn nice driving roads around that area.
Wait this was filmed 5 miles from my house. I drive / ride these roads every week. That's a bad line through the esses on 841 near The Whip Tavern.
@Greg Hassler - - I instantly recognized the scenery as well. I grew up nearby and drove/rode PA-841, PA926, and S Doe Run Road thousands of miles ... much less traffic back in the late-80s and early 90s.
@@AmishNinjaMaster so true, 20 years ago I could almost always get a clean run on these roads, now it's almost never.
...but he doesn’t have to make suspension adjustments when he’s on the race track! Total POSER!
This car screams ‘ sophisticated simplicity ‘. What a car!
Become a fund manager - remove personality. This car deserves much more. Sigh. Didn't deserve more than 6:51.
Singer DLS with Comfort Seats is my dream car
Amazing car! The Whip is one of my favorite restaurants. Hope to see this car in person some day!
Kinda nice to see someone driving on our “wonderful” roads here in the northeast. Enuf of the SoCal canyons!
Awesome ride. Don't really like the black wheels. And the moment i saw his watch i know he's a douch. lol.
The $90,000 Richard Mille 😂 noticed that too
Noticed it as soon as they showed it. I was like, WTH!!!
Agreed! Flat black wheels were popular for about 6 weeks 15 years ago!!! If you MUST have black wheels, at least have a polished lip on them.
@@1959LP4U I've been running black wheels since the early 70's when I started driving. So have a lot of other guys. In fact earlier, especially on race cars. Fancy shiny wheels cost more and don't make you any faster!
So what colour wheels does your Singer 911 have ?
You lost me as soon as he crossed the yellow line....
And when he spoke, when he left the coffee cup in the same place he double parked in.
Plus every other douchey thing he said did.
Beat me to it, Micah! I was listening to this guy drone on about how he “doesn’t have to adjust anything” when he tracks it....as I watched him take his expensive 2500# track prepped suspension across the yellow line at normal road speeds because he’s afraid of the corner.....yeah, sure buddy, I want to drive to the NJ or your private NY track and laugh as I lap you in a much lesser car.
He shows an "elan" for driving! Thank you.
I opened this video stupid fast ❤️😂
Did Petrolicious just jump-the-shark?
I drive some of those roads to work. Too bad there is always more traffic lol
Amazing car...
4:18 even the squirrel wanted to see the car up close.
Regardless of your opinion of the dude, you gotta agree...Singer knows how to build a freaking epic 911!
She's singing, so beautiful
Love the car. That all said while the guy maybe nice in person in the video he gives off one of the douches/poser personas ever. From the ultra skinny Jean's to the turtle neck to the Richard Mill watch.
@JoKro I'm welcome to have my opinion as you're welcome to have yours. I think the only thing we may he able to agree on is that he is a great porsche.
@JoKro Will check it out now. Yeah, I was originally just going on the items I saw and how he held himself in this video. While unfortunate, first looks and/or stereotypes sometimes are accurate.
wow! nice singer
Nice wrist shot. Let’s hear about the watch too.
I seemed to like Petrolicious more when it was about real car enthusiast. You know, the ones who built their own cars.
Nice colour combo..
Nothing sounds better than the whine of an air cooled 911.
The type of dude that enjoys a decaf frappuccino and leaves the wing up when parked
I think I fell in love with Pennsylvania.
The mid-Atlantic area is very nice particularly a bit west inland.
more of this!
If I owned one of these, I'd drive it hard all day, everyday. I'd drive it until I or it, turned into dust. Cos you can't take it with you when you die, so enjoy it as much as you can, while you can. Forget about "the future of collecting" cos if you can afford one of these, then you probably already have more money than you need. Beautiful works of art these are.
Instead of making the wing fixed to “save 5-7 pounds” he should lose 5-7 pounds 😂
Mack 78 i was wondering: what’s the disadvantage in having a fixed wing? Loss of speed at low gears? 🤔
I thought he meant 5-7 pounds of downforce at first, lol.
And it being up is stupid looking if you actually know Porsche cars.....very silly decision and given the car's purpose, sillier yet
5-7 pounds....from his wallet
His watch costs at least twice as much as my actual house
🖤
Real nice machine.... I'm familiar with the area near the tavern... Brandywine valley in Chester county ....ALOT of old money out there....I think the monument is Valley Forge state park .... ✌️
I am in love. Big time.
looks hot as hell ,THAT thing should be driven MORE ,at the track...that's not a garage QUEEN!
One of the best looking sports car ,the manufacturers should maintain the shape ,even if they make them bigger
I would HATE filling that gas tank!!!

APs are much more badass when zooming in is refrained from...does anyone else remember when PETROLICIOUS was that comfortable old set of driving gloves and not a new iPhone 47. Those were the days
My dream ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This guy again??? 😩... how does one man ruin a car without wrecking it? Just listen to him babble about himself fitting in..
How can someone who has barely put a thousand miles on a car talk that much nonsense about driving?! Great car, I feel sorry for it.
I'm sorry but "under the radar" and "low profile" are not phrases I'd use to describe a Singer. I'll admit they are aesthetically beautiful and I'm sure a joy to drive, but as a '90 964 C2 owner myself, I'd like to see Singer take a page from the Ruf playbook and just start producing their own 964 tubs. Taking good 964's off the road just so Singer can modify 90% of the original car is, in my humble opinion, a waste of a good 964.
I believe they take rough condition cars and restore/modify them, but I could be wrong
It’s not a McLaren, Ferrari, or Lamborghini yet it’s value and driving experience exceeds most of them. To the average person, and even most car enthusiasts, it’s just a “classic” car that people will say is nice for its age or even cute. 99.9% of people that will see it on the road simply see an older car with shiny paint-that’s why it’s “low profile” and “under the radar” and part of what makes them great!
Aside from possibly adding value to stock specimens, why cares what a company does to a few hundred cars out of 66,000+ produced?! It’s not like they’re chopping up RS’s. They’re merely taking a mediocre sports car and making them exceptional!
They made over 65.000 Porsche 964's and singer makes very few a year.
I'm a creative master who spent a half million to create my unique spectacular vision. So I uh.... just painted everything black.
Simmers Onwheels , we saw more of the coffee shop than we did of all the special car bits!
Ok so I dont usually like 911 but this one is badass
