Nice video, beautiful classicly done Porche and great driving 👍🏿,curious 🤔, when you were driving in the Golden State (on a golden day 😎), was that nearby San Francisco?
This is one of the few channel where you can really imagine sitting in the car, driving it for fun. No bruh gimmick, no unnecessary joke, just pure passion.
If they had this video on Top Gear, people would be hailing it as the highlight of the series. Great cinematography, superb insight & commentary. Top work Henry and Carfection.
What? this is way too classy for TG. They would have drowned it out with bizarre staccato audio with juvenile camera filters and 'chop socky' ratchet- editing like a cheap action film. I get you though Rob. :-)
okay, so just saw the intro and had to pause, this gave me chills, it was so good. carfection is at the peak of automotive journalism right now, lighting the passion of man and machinery
Okay, this seals it: Carfection is the best car channel out there. Enough technical detail to make it genuinely informative, Henry's nuanced and beautifully written (and extemporaneous) commentary, and the best cinematography/photography in the game. Having primo access to the best vehicles on earth doesn't hurt, either.
I got to spend 30 glorious minutes driving Singer's Pfaff Commission for review. Having driven a lot of 911s over the last 30 years I heartily concur with Henry's impressions. If I won a really big lottery, Singer would be my first call!
Outstanding. Henry + dreamy cinematography and color grading = the best car videos on UA-cam. Nothing else compares. Top Gear, The Grand Tour etc. need to up their game dramatically.
Wow wow wow. The whole piece is so poetic and puts a smile on my face even though this is not my car and the fact that I'm not the one driving it. Henry's energy is so contagious. Great work Carfection and Henry.
I didn't want this video to end, nearly as much as Henry didn't want his experience to end. I was totally captivated with this. Stunning and hugely goosebump inducing! What a dream!
The smile in the opening minute paints all the picture we need Henry. It’s my absolute dream car too, and not just because of the car. Rob’s history and story about how he came to form Singer is also fascinating, and makes one just love the brand even more. Another beautiful Carfection production - thanks to all involved for taking us along!
Massive respect to the editor. Colour grading is spot on and cut so well together. Everything else is fantastic as per usual (Henry, the review, the videography etc). Awesome!!!
I love Henry's films they always have a unique quality - the dialogue and filming are a cut above everything else and seems to transport you somehow to sitting in the passenger seat while he rips along in a Singer 911 just enjoying the ride. Fantastic!
The winding roads of southern California are the best place to drive a perfect specimen of the automobile of this caliber. That tuned 964 chassis love those turns and curves.
"Best auto journalist out there who's a true car guy"How he narrates a story behind its history and how these guys are presenting is just fabulous. All love always!!!
What a FANTASTIC feeling it is when you’re so Happy you keep thinking that this Special Day will End. Only Henry makes me smile ear to ear and makes me want to DRIVE.
Like a lot of people here, I'd like to think I've seen every Singer video out there. What Catchpole does here captures the essence of the drive in a way James May did with his review on Top Gear. Thank you!
I feel like Henry and a Singer are such a perfect combination it feels as though they met years ago - that the two of them should be together is so obvious it can't possibly have taken until now. Yet somehow it did, and entirely predictably, it's perfect. Bravo gents. The journalism is as good as it gets. The film making and editing is breath taking.
I love the part about picking cars of an imaginary dream garage, and while I've never driven one of these I'm confident that if I win the lotto I'm buying one! Perfect car + perfect video = Carfection.
I have a uncle in Santa Barbra California who has a 70's Porsche 911 SC targa in this same color. I'm very grateful I got to ride in it a few times as a teen. It made me a big Porsche fan for life. The flat 6 sound the beautiful color combination, the twisty road, all perfect. Thank you.
This video alone is deserving of 1M subscribers. Well done Henry and the Carfection team for producing some of the best motor vehicle films available on the internet today. You keep me Daydreaming hard!
Henry you have without any doubt just made the definitive review of a Porsche Reimagined by Singer.Just listening to your narrative over laying the sound of you driving the car made me feel like I was sitting in the driving seat, but then to top it all the footage, static, point of view and tracking the editing and overall compilation was movie quality. This is the best review that Carfection has done so far. Would it be asking to much to edit another video of just the driving? I drove some of those roads last May in a bad rental car, wishing that I was driving one of those Singers
Henry gets it! I do the lottery with my mate and we always said, if one of us didn’t know we’d won it, the other would surprise them with their dream car. I always said I’d have a Singer! What a machine!
Really enjoyed this! Instant watch because it's a Singer. Really love seeing their works. Always gorgeous and interesting. Hope to see one in person one day. Heck, I'd be thrilled to have a coffee table book on their cars!
This has to be the Best advert that Porsche could ever have, the look ,the sound and the joy that comes from the screen as that Beautiful car enjoys itself on that wonderful road. My Thanks to all the companies involved in making that car and the video production company for making that film....... Thankyou 😁👍🏼
I always missed Alex's reviews, but I think with this one, I can admit Henry Catchpole is just as good if not better. Pure passion, no bullshit. That's what I love to see.
I've loved Singer since I first saw them on Top Gear many years ago and you described it beautifully when you said it was the one car you'd have because it's the one car I'd have in the dream garage. So beautiful, so elegant, so quick.
I think this journalist thoughtful Nigel Slater laid back style works really well with this car. Great car complimented with well timed spaced comments to give the watcher/listener time to ponder this wonderfully detailed masterpiece.
Just watched this twice over. I think it might be one of the best car films I’ve ever seen on UA-cam - and I’m not even much of a Singer fan (or, at least I wasn’t...)! I know how hard these things are to make well. ‘Chapeau’ to all involved 👏🏻
At the end when he talks about picking just one car I felt that. A Singer 911 would definitely be that one car for me. You could drive one everyday to work and it wouldn't feel out of place. You could take it to the track and it wouldn't feel out of place. You could pick up a date in it and it wouldn't feel out of place. You could take it on a road trip and it wouldn't feel out of place. You could teach your kids to drive in it and it wouldn't feel out of place. And beyond that, not only would it never feel out of place it would feel like absolutely the perfect car for each of those jobs. It would feel like any other car would be a downgrade. I've been trying to find the right few words to sum all that and I think I recently found them. It's the main characters car. By that I mean, if you want to write a story about a magical person. The kind of person we all desire being; smart, classy, romantic, charming, mysterious, a touch dangerous etc... All those perfect idealized qualities that only really exist in romance novels and spy thrillers and fairytales and you want to choose a car for a story like that. Something that makes the character more interesting just by virtue of their choice in car. That doesn't overpower the character but enhances them instead. Something that isn't vulgar but instead indicates exquisite taste. Something unusual and exciting but familiar and comforting. The only reasonable choice is a Singer 911. The Singer 911 should't exist in the real world, it couldn't. It's a fairytale. Except its real.
Wow, I drove behind this Singer car with the SONG 2 plate from LA to around Santa Barbara on the way to the Rennsport Reunion at Laguna Seca a little over a year ago. I made a point of being behind him at any opportunity, for the soundtrack and the rear view. There was also a 997 GT3, a 991 GT3 RS and an Aston in the same caravan for some very special hours winding up Highway 1. It was glorious.
My god Henry, you just produced the best review I have ever watched! I have seen several Singer reviews but the production here is superb. The 911 is a bit like an old favorite rock song, you know you love it but have heard it so many times it becomes a bit stale. Stop listening for a while and then, the next time you hear it you fall in love all over again. This is the automotive version of that. Singer 911. Perfect. Thank you very, very, much Carfection team.
That's up there with as good as videos on UA-cam get; perfectly done, wonderfully enjoyable. Not normally a YT commenter, but felt this one was worth it
Well said, Henry - you're not the first to hold this view. And while no 'production' 911 has ever been on my shopping list, this would find a place in my garage if someone would be kind enough to find the half million...
What a video!! Amazing cinematography. As other comments have said, it would be great to have a long video of just Henry driving. This JUST beats his caterham in the snow up the hill :)
Henry doing what he does pretty much better than anyone else. You can poke all your modern computer controlled super and hyper cars. This is where my lotto win money is going, just need to win now lol
I’ve just come back to watch this after your Gunther Werks video where I questioned whether that, good though it may be, was in the same league as the Singer. I think the answer is pretty clear, not that I can afford either! Great video as always Henry.
If money were no object I would buy a Singer Porsche 911. For many, the 911 is the dream answer, because it evokes everything mere mortals lust for in a sports car. Yes, there are probably faster, technically better cars - but for sheer lust and classic 911 1984-1989 design, it's the car to own - classic Porsche - especially when touched by Singer and built by Singer specifically for your personal tastes. Great video Henry! - still waiting for my life to work out so I can buy one. I'll just have to slum it in my MX-5 until then OR maybe a budget Singer Honda S2000 for $200K, now there's an idea - LOL
You want to watch that epic award winning film in a cinema, not on the little screen on theback of an airplane. You hope you'll find the right retort the instant the insult has been thrown, not 20 minutes later. You imagine love at first sight occurring across a crowded room at a black-tie ball, rather than as you're taking the bins out on a tuesday morning. Right time, Right place. But life doesn't always work out like that. Then again, sometimes it does. Carfection intros are perfect.
A love letter to the car and a middle finger to EVs all at the same time. The love of cars at Singer, Henry's love for cars, nature's love for man, it's all here. Well done chaps.
Just about to go and pick up my Porsche at the garage after some repairs....I'm in a mood about the money it's costing me...it certainly isn't a Singer....but this video has calmed and soothed me.....sensational.

feels like evo from a few years ago
Henry Benson In all the best ways
I heard a joke. Relax of course this excellent so are a few others
What’s a bruh gimmick
Can we have just one hour of Henry driving it in silence with just the sound of the engine, the tires and the wind? That'd be the dream...
So they'd use a same car for a 2nd review 🤨
I have a better Idea... How about a week or two of *_me_* driving this thing around Europe... South of France, Germany autobahn, Goodwood etc...
I think the dream is to own one!
But with no shots of Henry's intentional coiffed grunge.
@Giovanni Macias no

Rob Staples Clarkson did review it. I can’t recall if it was TG or TGT
TG couldn’t make this video in a million years.
James May did a Singer video on TG years ago...it was pretty good actually.
@@ericpisch2732 The old TG can. Watch the episode in which Clarkson reviewed the Eagle Speedster.

Henry Catchpole definitely knows how to talk to enthusiasts ! stellar review
I definitely second you on that one👍
One man's opinion... Henry & Chris Harris are the two best reviewers in the business. I look forward to a long career for them both!
Hoooooollyyyyyyy...
That was absolutely bloody amazing, goosebumps!
This is something special
Something that cost $1 million it better be!

This should not be considered a mere review. It's an award worthy short film, with an amazing script, stunning visuals, and wow, what a soundtrack.
The short sequence between the monologue and the title at the start was masterful. I love this channel.

I love that the license plate is "SONG 2" - the song that was used in the E39 M5 Madonna commercial. funny that it's on Montana plates
The true measure of any car is the smile it puts on your face :-) And Henry had a huge smile !!!
I feel like the Singer is the definition of "The whole is greater than the sum of its parts."
The parts used are as good as you can get, but i know what you mean peace
This video and the “Manual” video are the best thing on UA-cam.

Catchpole’s commentary is as delicious as the car he is describing. His is a rare and gifted talent.
Well I think your permanent grin throughout the video says it all! What a beautiful car, very very impressed!

I have to agree. If you can only have one car, the Singer checks all the boxes. Gorgeous Porsche.
