So correct lol
This CHEAP 99 cents device is a B E A S T
I was happy to hear you mention it runs on 5V almost immediately. So many of these monitors don't specify their power needs.
Nice! Great value proposition here. The Genki Covert Dock might be a great way to pair this with Switch, too. That'd be for playing in docked mode and keeping everything charged, what with the extra USB port on it and all.
I am using a 15" portable with my note 20 ultra. I can't say enough good stuff about it. As a little productivity setup, or streaming geforce now. I opted for a Virzen unit which has no battery, but does have touch capability. I prefer to power things with my portable battery...Loved the setup so much that now use a couple of portable displays with my mini Ryzen APU. Then use a single unit with my Note or PI4. These modern portable displays are absolute game changers.
Purchased! Looks good for the price. I plan on using it with the Switch and the Pi400 in Tate mode for shmups
Dude, this would be great for a tate mini arcade build. Look into Coinops Diamonds 3 vert.
Thanks for the great review ETA Prime. I just ordered one for work. I need to get out of the home to work, away from distractions.
I have nice 2k displays x 3 monitor setup at home, so wanted something more than just my laptop screen while not @ home. I hate working from a single screen.
What to say thanks for the review and info... bought one for a second monitor for work on the go and it’s really nice..
Thanks for the review. Considering that there are a number of these in the market now, maybe you can consider testing the color accuracy as well in the future to differentiate between them. These monitors could be useful for on-the-go photo/video editing users as well.
Awesome. Have been looking for a portable monitor for awhile now. This might be the one.
I JUST bought one of these to use on the go with my Dell G5 SE. Wow! So first off, using my laptops USB-C connection, which goes to the laptops iGPU, the monitor shows up as HDR, 10-bit AND AdaptiveSync (Variable Refresh Rate). I did NOT expect that for the price. Brightness, it's damn close to the 300nit display on my laptop, so it's definitely more than 250nit, but unsure how high.
Did You Comfort HDR And Free Sync Operation?
this monitor is also on Amazons deal of the day like every other month and the price goes down to $119
Ty so much I am going on a road trip and I was looking for a portable moniter
@ETA PRIME You can change it at 5:21 much faster with "Windows" + P.
With the upcoming Steam Deck I been looking for a portable gaming monitor and I'm like oooh this looks good, might have to pair those two together :D
i purchased this display based on this video, and Im using it for my raspberry pi 400. this is an awesome product, i can run my pi and display off the same 30000mAh battery and it's so clean and portable. thank you very much for your detailed and honest review videos
How long does it last?
@@DominiqueWillkins honestly it latsts forever, i can run the monitor and pi for about 8 hrs
Man you always find the best stuff! Great video!
Cant wait just ordered
Sold out within a week, thanks ETA
I just bought it Prime! Gracias brotha!
I was so surprised that a dock wasn't required to use the Switch with this monitor oof
Great video I’m grabbing one of these
If you press Windows + P, you can quickly get the options to Extend/Duplicate/Solo the monitors.
Thanks for the info
I paid around $150 for a touchscreen 15.6" IPS. I'm currently using it as a 2nd display (Primary really) at work connected to a 13" HP Spectre x360. I don't know if it's always the case but when I found it on Amazon there were a ton of sales for portable monitors going on. A ton of sub-$200 deals
You are my favourite UA-camrs 🔥🔥🔥
I just bought one using you affiliate link. Darn good review ETA.
Damn I should have gotten this instead of my over priced 5inch pi display. Thanks for the video :)
Lol seriously? 5inch????
@@slapmeisterrecords8226 seemed like a good idea at the time 🤣
Mistakes were made
Just ordered mine and it will arrive on Sunday. Just what I was looking for to play my Switch on the go! Thanks
No dock needed? What resolution the switch will output?
@@jeff15 I assume it will be 1080p since it will be displaying through the USB C onto the 1080p screen.
@@DramaFreeGaming I just received mine today as well. But I believe it's only 1080p if it's hooked up to the Switches dock. I could be wrong though.
@@brandonconstantine3853 My games look great on the screen. I think it is 1080p. Happy gaming and enjoy.
Any issues so far with the pixio and switch? Just ordered mine

My Wallet: Oh God, not again!!
Great review as usual!
They hv a inbuilt speaker too
Cool! 🔥
What are you trying to say?
Putting genshin impact on the thumbnail, you know how to interest me 😂
How?
Same... if only Genshin has native support for controllers
Could you please put Castlevania Aria of Sorrow in your next video, please? 🙏🏻
@@robertbonzon69 I guess it has also a native controller support given that it was also released on PS4 besides PC and mobile devices, and also LowSpecGamer tried Genshin Impact on the GPD Win 3
@@themixgenius1993 It doesn't. Surprisingly the mobile version of Genshin Impact doesn't support controllers, despite the PC and PS4 versions support controller. You have to use the touchscreen.
Really liked it , but I will wait for touch version if they thought about realsing it
You should attach a little Ryzen machine (M75q) to the back of the screen, use a wireless keyboard / mouse / controller for the ultimate portable and quick PC gaming setup.
Really nice screen I was looking for one with a touch screen though
whoa didn't know u can use the S21 as a trackpad! Samsung is so on the ball here w Dex!
Imagine this with 144hz, carrying it into lan parties with your htpc system like a true chad.
imo a monitor labeled as "gaming" that is only 60hz is not a gaming monitor.
@@criticallycheesycaleb6681 I have to disagree as fighting games MUST work in 60fps.
so 60hz is perfectly fine for a gaming monitor.
however the display has to have the smallest amount of lag possible for it to be a gaming monitor.
@@WednesdayMan I think you missed the point. All modern monitors have a refesh rate of at least 60hz. "Gaming" monitors are labeled as such because they have the specific adavantage of a higher refresh rate. If a monitor is only 60hz, then there is nothing "gaming" about it and it is just marketing bs.
@@criticallycheesycaleb6681 and that's where I think you're wrong. it can totally be a gaming display at 60hz, it just has to have the lowest possible display lag. what you define a gaming monitor means CRT monitors would qualify as gaming monitors since they go from 85hz to 200hz.
(yes a gaming monitor can have more than 60hz. no 60hz shouldn't disqualify a screen because it's the standard, that's stupid imagine 120hz becomes the standard of monitors and TVs and no one calls a 120hz monitor with the least amount of display lag possible because "All modern monitors have a refresh rate of at least 120hz" like... what else am I supposed to define this screen as?)
@@WednesdayMan people still use CRTs for gaming for that very reason lol, it's more of a niche thing. The refresh rate makes a bigger impact than input latency. Even when input latency becomes a point of inconvenience, you would notice the lacking refresh rate first. At 60hz, it wont matter how low the input latency is because you are locked at 60hz. 120hz isn't the overall standard because monitors dont need 120hz for basic things, which is why that is reserved for "gaming" monitors. Your "what if" example is irrelevant. What if our cars could fly? What if meat lovers pizza made you skinny? The "what if" doesn't matter because it doesn't change anything. Besides, do you see many other "gaming" monitors from big brands Asus, MSI, etc., that are locked at 60hz? No, because even if it may have 1ms response time on a TN panel, it would be crippled by the 60hz cap. This 60hz monitor was labeled as such by the brand because they know that plenty of people that dont know what they are doing will see "gaming monitor" and think it is legit.
ETA is the man!
Yeahhhhh:D
Fosho. 😎
I keep eyeballing something like this but feel a touchscreen would be immensely more useful with Dex. Not that it matters, the link provided takes me to a full size monitor on Amazon UK with the same name lol
same. can we buy this in UK?
@@Shifytee123 not this l model it seems
The brick has twovchargig ports and cabling for the pi400.
Now, while the mat it comes with probably works fine, it needs a proper stand.
my monitor I use is a Pixio PX7 Prime, and it is amazing for the money
I wish there was a generic shell you could throw your old laptop screen in to make it a portable display. I have a decent 120hz ips panel just laying around looking for a second life. Heck, I also wish there were double din enclosures to use your old car stereo as a standalone stereo.
Make some slots on the sides of the monitor and insert your switch joycons, BAM new nintendo Switch Pro!
@@alleosussquirt8041 even the Wii u wasn't that big
Nintendo Switch XL?
BAME is racist you bigot!
@@slapmeisterrecords8226 What?
@@slapmeisterrecords8226 dude i think you wandered into the wrong comment section. Hes saying bam like the sound effect. Or like Emeril's catchphrase.
Sometimes I don’t come here for the actual product. His voice is so relaxing. The stuff he covers is interesting but that voice could chill out anyone .
take note that there is a pair of mono speakers on one side of the monitor(nearest to the usb c connectors).
Getting this for the steam deck
Thanks for the video! In regards to powering the monitor off of your laptop does the USB C Port need to support power delivery?
this is why the usb c port is a huge tech improvement since slice bread (jk).. now have to wait for the usb c thunderbolt tech to have full bandwidth lanes as the desktop pc gpu..
I would love to see how retropie works on this monitor. Let me explain, I ordered a portable monitor like this and it worked great for the desktop environment but when I loaded retropie the screen would not work properly.
Thats actually hella cool.
People with not much space would kill for a 120hz/144hz version of this
TBA
hell of a deal with extra 10 bucks off.. but already have a 15.6 portable monitor.. but very tempting!
Looks great
What is the comparison of this monitor vs the LePow Z1 Gamut?
How are the color accuracy, white balance, screen door effect and matte finish? My xtendtouch v2 has bad white balance/poor color accuracy and botched grainy matte finish.
At 7:29 it looks like you're losing a lot of detail in the orange beach umbrellas, they look flat
I have a MSI portable monitor. It has the same amount of ports right down to the same exact position. It wouldn't surprise me if MSI sourced this monitor just to put a 250 dollar price tag on it.
So many of these portable monitors are OEM rebrands, and I have a cheaper one that I bought a few years ago; after some research I realized that every single one with the same ‘features’ as mine wound up being the exact same product; You almost for sure hit the nail on the head. Although, it’s good to see that these rebrands are at least getting better in tech! I’d rather have one of these than my junk screen that barely worked. :P
Doesn’t the MSI have hdmi in and out?
@@KC-bg1th in most industries, no-name products have the same quality as branded products. The only industry that I wouldn't really trust generic products is the healthcare and medical industry, especially in the times we live in.
@@KC-bg1th I’ve been looking for a screen myself, and they all just slap different logos on the same product
Got me one 👍
I have a similar screen and the mini HDMI broke very quickly. Be careful with those connections - they are flimsy as crap. Luckily I use it for work with USB-C.
Can this eventually brick an NS without a proper dock? I need to cuz I want it.
Yea that’s what I was thinking. Probably not a safe choice until you know.
can you recommend a good touch screen portable monitor aswell for playing music game with smartphone without buying an ipad or android tablet.
Question, I have a thumb stick style mini PC (no headphone jack) - connected to a portable monitor… The portable monitor has a headphone jack. At one point, I had a bluetooth speaker connected (no issues), but prior to that the headphone jack worked fine… Nevertheless, now I can’t get audio out to the headphones… I’ve installed all Windows updates, tried restarting, and shut down boot back up, etc… Do you have any suggestions…? When opening the settings, I only have the Intel option regarding audio…
Thanks!!! Got one!!
Woah, woah, woah... back up, you can output from the Switch using only a USB C cable!? I thought the dock was necessary for that?
yes! that was eye opening to see all the video over USB-C use cases! 😳 I finally get all the USB-C hype now :-)
i heard that the dock makes it in 1080p
Bought this and audio doesnt work with this monitor on my raspberrypi 3 :(
I’m looking for a smallish one. I have a 11” MacBook Air and that’s too big and I have a 3.5” touch that you recommend quite some time back and that’s too small lol need something in The middle.
Me: I think I’m gonna start saving money today.
Me: *watches video*
Me: WHERE IS MY DEBIT CARDDD
My wife is going to be pissed lol
Lol same! I bought it immediately for my Switch
@@brandonconstantine3853 i don’t regret it at all lol
how long does the battery last w/ the pi 400 attached to it?
how can you use the Nintendo Switch on the portable monitor without the piwer supply? can you use it with just an usb c to (mini) hdmi??
Question, I have a 720p phone and mostly play youtube vids(the quality options are usually capped at 720p), will connecting it to this monitor make it so that my youtube app detects a 1080p screen and give me a 1080p quality option?
Aside from FreeSync (what range is it anyway? that's most interesting feature of this thing, too bad you didn't touch on that), why is it called "gaming"?
Can just change 2nd display settings with a key combo, think it was windows+p or alt+p
And they only ship to the USA..... Just tried to order through Amazon and their own website. You should mention this during your reviews ETA so people don't waste their time but more importantly it might put a little pressure on these companies to sell them in other countries. This isn't the first time I've tried to order similar monitors and each time I eventually get told they don't ship to Australia.
Will this work with an iPhone for monitoring video recordings?
Awwww I was close to being early nice video even though I haven't watch it yet
That is cool as heck...
👍👍👍👍😎😎😎😎
How does this stack up against the XtendTouch portable monitor?
What's the peak brightness?
Looks like HDR is just in the name.
It's IPS so hdr is not happening anyway. Brightness probs 200 nits max
@@bird6691 so all those hdr ips monitors and tv are all fake?
@@pmsajal essentially, yes. Literally 0.001% of monitors can even do vaguely competent hdr let alone good.
HDR is just marketing anyway
@@RainerK. No?
I noticed when you hooked up the switch it was also charging it. Did you notice by any chance how well it was charging???
Can you power the monitor while playing the Switch with a USB-C? I have one of these and I'm looking at buying a small electrical power supply when I'm in my car for 8-12 hours. Please help. The power supply is $200.
kinda look heavy but I do like the matte ips screen tho..
what about casting (wireless)? will there be some lags?
and do we have aftersales support on all these weird name products..
It supports zero lag casting. Check the specs!
How does it compare to the MSI? I’ve been looking at both.
Is there a way to connect a console to a Galaxy Tab S6 to use as a monitor?
Mine broke ( My fault ) and now they are sold out everywhere. Don't know if they don't make them anymore or are just effected by the chip shortages but I sure do miss not having to lug around my 27in monitor when I go to my brothers or a friends place.
Windows button + p (Quick acces to secundary display settings)
Could this be for go pro camera to show video hm
1) why not use switch dock ? the monitor does not support hdmi ?
2) can use mobile phone to connect the monitor ? like to use it as video player?
@ETA Prime Does anyone know how he got the switch to output to the monitor via USB? We have this monitor connected the same way but it tells us to use the ac adapter supplied with the switch and won't output to the monitor
Is the monitor itself plugged in with its own power source?
Also, be careful. That could brick your switch.
It looks just like my Labists monitor
I can't find this on Amazon UK, Germany or Italy. The link in the description doesn't go to the monitor either, but to some other full blown Pixio monitor. Any ideas where I can find this online?
Thanks.
Can't find it on Amazon FR either.
If you search on the US site you'll find it, but it's $199, I could have sworn I heard the price as 139 in the video, I'll have to go back to the video to check. Oh well
What kind of power bank do you use to play with the switch?
Cool!
This, or spend a little extra for an Asus Zenscreen MB16ACE?

it would be nice if it had a mount for in your car
Can you use a capture card with this thing?
