My "spooky" looking plants are my Euphorbia Dead Plant, my Sansevieria Samurai, Pickle Plant, Rat Tail Cactus. I like weird looking plants to mix it up. Happy Spooky Season 👻
My favorite spooky plant is a rabbit foot fern :) when it outgrows its pot the rhizomes wrap around the pot and they are hairy! They look like spider legs, so cool.
Looking at your bats on the cabinets, it would look so cool if you put a decal of a full moon or a spooky tree on that center cupboard so it looks like the bat's are flying around it 🤩
Love the Dark Lord!! The leaves get darker as she matures and gets more lobe-y lol. Also I’m obsessed with how the new leaves come out like blood red 🩸I let mine go bone dry before watering and she’s in my Milsbo so around 65-80 humidity throughout the day. She has a similar growth pattern to a PPP so eventually putting her on a little pole will be beneficial! But she’s so easy and pretty, my mom loves her too 💕
Love your spooky plants! 👻 My choices are more "goth vampire" themed philo dark lord and squamicaule blood/red/pink definitely leading the line 😂🖤 also honorable mention to my little monster venus fly trap and florida ghost 💚🎃
Even though Alocasia Polly is sort of a basic plant I feel like they are great spooky szn plants! The veins kind of look like spider webs and the deep purple backs kind of make the leaves look bat-like. I enjoy mine a little more this time of year.
I love the Syngonium erythrophyllum and yours seems to be doing great 🥰 I had two once, but unfortunately they didn't do well in my care. Not sure whether I should have given them more light or watered it more often, or both. I ended up giving them away. But now when I see yours there's a little voice in my head going "maybe I could try again" 😄
I love my ZZ raven for spooky. Those dark dark leaves against the lime green new shoots . Gorgeous. . I also love all the weird ones. Cacti, Euphorbia, and I'm gonna be looking for that last one you showed so cool. . Happy Spooky Season !
I have on of those black syngoniums, here in Australia I bought it as ‘Red Arrow’ and it only had two leaves and a very small root system that wasn’t supporting more than 3 leaves, anyway I chopped of the top and it only had slight Ariel root ‘bumps’, stuck them in water and I think like 2 weeks later it started throwing out roots! Was so happy I saved it haha I did use a rooting gel too 😄 yours looks so good too! Really hoping mine gets there eventually
In Canada they’re also labelled “red arrow”. I have three hanging baskets of this now (one of my favourites) and they were all labelled syngonium erythrophyllum/red arrow ❤
Your Florida Ghost is stunning, and the Zombie plant is so cool! It looks like a spooky tree that belongs into the porch of a haunted house. 👻 I also have filmed a "Halloween" plant collection and is going to be uploaded pretty soon. 😜So excited for that! We have a couple of plants In common because they fit so well this thematic. 👽
I knew you would be saving the Tortum for last. 😁 I kept anticipating it and finally there it was. I love that plant. Also, love the spooky music in your outro.
All look so spooky good. The Dark Lord mixed pot is a great idea....the silver will pop & the dark leaves will stand out. My spookiest is my Sans Suffruticosa which has a hard, thick 20 inch "leaf".
I love my Raven ZZ it is so black & the new growth comes in with black edges, which spreads rhruout the leaves as it matures. I also have a black begonia.
My Halloween wish list plant is the Philodendron Majesty. I wish I could find one. Spooky plant I actually have would be my cuprea. She's a teeny tiny little thing at the moment but I love how they look mature.
My favorite spooky plant is Colocasia Pharaoh’s Mask - dark green w striping and raised black veining through the center outwards. My boyfriend calls that my Frankenstein plant 🖤💚 (Definitely best kept an outdoor leafy bb tho and note I’m in FL)
The fuzzy one, Serpens, you could imagine the petioles as hairy witches legs. If you haven't seen it you should watch WITCHES, with Better Midler. Not too spooky but laughter is really good for your mental health too. Bette is amazing as a witch! I hope you like it! It's an older movie but definitely worth the search. Beverly
Gahd the erythrophyllum is so difficult for me. The growth is always tiny and they always die 😭😭 but also I love it for Christmas especially when it’s already trailing… because it’s just the perfect mix of red and green.
I have the syngonium too and it’s just starting to regrow after propagation as well. Another dark leaf one I love is my new Alocasia Scalprum. It’s so beautiful.
That euphorbia it's cool I have a plant called dancing bones, (rhipsalis salicornioides) its a cactus, my plant is green, it looks like a whole bunch of little connected bones. That white Ghost looks like my cauliflower 😂
Your tortum looks soo amazing 😍 was never a fan of it but seeing you gush and grow yours really has made me appreciate the unique beauty of the tortum 🌻💫💛😍
My Halloween type plants are the Dykia ( similar to aloe/agave plant with thorns) I've needed to repot it bigtime since he multiplied so I repotted it first time watching the video so I'm replaying to see what others you chose. I ended up with 2 Dykias and 2 babies so I'll need to rehome a couple. My other Halloween plants would be my zz raven and I got some sort of begonia that has a leaf shaped like bat wings ( at least to me) I should also add "Scary Barry" seeing as that's what I named him when I first got him. He's a hoya shepherdii when I first got him he looked like he was on his last life ( I really didn't think he was going to make it) Surprisingly he's my only hoya to bloom ! Still scary 2 years later , right now I'm trying to reboot him from root rot.
Awesome plants. Thanks for sharing them with us. I really love the dark leaf Syngonium. Absolutely stunning! I think my favourite alien looking plant (though I’ve only seen photos of them) is the Alocasia/Colocasia Pharaoh Mask. Definitely looks like it’s straight from the film Alien!
@@wildfern if you have ever wondered how I’m so quick on these videos 😆 it’s because I watch tv and UA-cam on my phone all day so I’m looking at the screen when the notification pops. This time I was literally scrolling trying to find something and you published it. I was like hell yea! Happy spooky season fern! I turned 29 yesterday 🫶 birthday girl over hereee
My spooky plants are my cynanchum marnieriana, which I’m told is a cactus; my philo black cardinal; my watch chain succulent cuz it grows straight up like creepy long fingers; and my Monstera delicious a who is about 3 feet from the ceiling!
Hi Fern. Can you please remind me what it is that you have been wanting your Begonia "Linda Dawn" to do for you? I know it's been fussy and uncooperative for you. My nursery has one and I really like the darkness of the leaves. It doesn't appear to have any spots on it just the color of the foliage.
Omg!!! Hearing that Syngonium Erythrophyllum is difficult to propagate is so reassuring. I took some cutting of mine because I wanted a fuller pot and now all the props are dying and I was so sad thinking I did something wrong. Still sucks to lose them but now I know why
I love all these plants!!! Several added to my wish list. I think the Euphorbia Trigona Rubra is creepy cool looking. and of course the black ZZ plant! But my creepiest plant by far is my Nepenthes. When I look at it real close up I start to get grossed out ha ha
which was the first Philodendron? I have both P. serpens and P. squamiferum as well. You made me think that an hybrid between the 2 could be interesting.
I love Dracula orchids, I find them hard to grow because they require a cooler and dryer period in the winter, which forces me to move them to a cooler place in winter. At some point I always forget that they are there, neglect to water them and they die off…. 😞 so sad
Also. Am I the only one that grows certain plants in “low” light, or shaded from my grow lights by others? I say “low”, not meaning a dark ass corner of my house. But some of my plants, I purposely shade so that their foliage remains a dark, deep color.
It bothered me more than it should’ve that you didn’t mention your verru with the squami & the other fuzzy petiole babe !!!! 😂😂 she’s amazing & deserved a spotlight moment with the other 2 🥹💚💚
My "spooky" looking plants are my Euphorbia Dead Plant, my Sansevieria Samurai, Pickle Plant, Rat Tail Cactus. I like weird looking plants to mix it up. Happy Spooky Season 👻
I want to get my mom a euphrobia dead plant for christmas just to see her reaction....she's uhhh....not allowed to touch plants
@@thatonedog819 🤣🤣🤣
I don't have many rarer houseplants that can be deemed spooky but my Raven ZZ & Ludisia Discolor gives me "gothic" vibes.
Anything dark even. My favorite plant is a burgundy rubber plant. The sansevieria zeylanica looks a little spooky too
My baby wake up in the middle of the night and found this upload♡♡♡ love to be catching up on time
thank you for watching 🖤🖤 hope you're able to get some more sleep :)
Rabbit's Foot Fern is my creepy queen. The tarantula legs just scream October ❤️🕷️❤️
Yes acclimatize and acclimate are both a word.
My favorite spooky plant is a rabbit foot fern :) when it outgrows its pot the rhizomes wrap around the pot and they are hairy! They look like spider legs, so cool.
Looking at your bats on the cabinets, it would look so cool if you put a decal of a full moon or a spooky tree on that center cupboard so it looks like the bat's are flying around it 🤩
For a mixed pot you can also try Jade Pothos with Neon Pothos ☺.
That syngonium has such a crazy depth of black and red 🥰 I LOVE my crown of thorns, dark foliage, plus spikes? Heck yes ❤
I just got a Dark Lord recently and I am OBSESSED

Even though Alocasia Polly is sort of a basic plant I feel like they are great spooky szn plants! The veins kind of look like spider webs and the deep purple backs kind of make the leaves look bat-like. I enjoy mine a little more this time of year.
Not to mention, when they inevitably get really bad spider mites, they will have ACTUAL webs!
@@thatonedog819 I’m cracking up because how true is this !!!
I love the Syngonium erythrophyllum and yours seems to be doing great 🥰
I had two once, but unfortunately they didn't do well in my care. Not sure whether I should have given them more light or watered it more often, or both. I ended up giving them away. But now when I see yours there's a little voice in my head going "maybe I could try again" 😄
Do it!
That first plant shows hints of purple when you move the leaves.
I love my ZZ raven for spooky. Those dark dark leaves against the lime green new shoots . Gorgeous. . I also love all the weird ones. Cacti, Euphorbia, and I'm gonna be looking for that last one you showed so cool. . Happy Spooky Season !
Random thought - put your begonias in self watering pots. They love water and benefit greatly from them!
Philodendron squamicaule “pink/blood”. Love it.
The mixed pot is gorgeous 😊
That syngonium is perfect 😍 will have to get some of these
My variegated adansoniis leaves look like tiny ghosts 👻

i just mixed a miccans and lemon lime philodendron!! i can’t wait to see it all filled out
Love them!
My spooky plants would be my philo mican and my alocasia black velvet. I guess alocasia African mask as well.
I knew you would be saving the Tortum for last. 😁 I kept anticipating it and finally there it was. I love that plant. Also, love the spooky music in your outro.
I have a small dead plant euphorbia. Can’t wait till mine grows and looks like yours! It’s so cool and chill. Love spooky season 😮
All look so spooky good. The Dark Lord mixed pot is a great idea....the silver will pop & the dark leaves will stand out. My spookiest is my Sans Suffruticosa which has a hard, thick 20 inch "leaf".
I love my syngonium erythhrophyllum. Now that I’m thinking about it, I probably learned about it on your channel lol 🖤🧡💜
The raven ZZ is definitely a spooky plant for me!
Yessss - love her! If only mine would grow 🤣
@@wildfern I throw mine in nearly full sun and it probably triples in size this summer. All of my zz did
I love my Raven ZZ it is so black & the new growth comes in with black edges, which spreads rhruout the leaves as it matures. I also have a black begonia.
My spooky vibe plants would be, spider plant and rabbit foot fern
My Halloween wish list plant is the Philodendron Majesty. I wish I could find one.

Such a great spooky collection! I think one of my spooky plants is my birds nest fern because it looks like claws are coming out of him!
I’m so glad to see a tortum stacked up
great choice of plants for October.
I always thought calathea lancifolia had a sorta creepy witchy vibe
The tortum looks a tree that tim burton would design.
The fuzzy one, Serpens, you could imagine the petioles as hairy witches legs. If you haven't seen it you should watch WITCHES, with Better Midler. Fern you would LOVEEEE hoya undulata!!!! It’s such a freaky dumpster hoya! Little bratty , they don’t like any change in environment , like at all lol
Pterisanthes sp is my favorite spooky black plant 😍
I have never put my tortum in a cabinet it’s been doing fine.
I fricken love you, Fern!!! and the hair is GIVING.✨✨
Gahd the erythrophyllum is so difficult for me. The growth is always tiny and they always die 😭😭 but also I love it for Christmas especially when it’s already trailing… because it’s just the perfect mix of red and green.
Cuprea and begonia ferox are cool and spooky for me
The tortum looks like something thaty cats would enjoy chewing on 😅

I love spooky plants! 🖤🧡

My strangest plant is my Cynanchum Marnierianum AKA “bundle of sticks”

I love all these plants!!! Several added to my wish list. I think the Euphorbia Trigona Rubra is creepy cool looking. and of course the black ZZ plant! But my creepiest plant by far is my Nepenthes. When I look at it real close up I start to get grossed out ha ha
Cannot find syngonium black anywhere. Love!
hmm well I've always though My Aloe Vera Christmas Carol looks like some kind of Lovecraftian tentacle monster
This was such an interesting video. Gracias!
which was the first Philodendron? I have both P. serpens and P. squamiferum as well. You made me think that an hybrid between the 2 could be interesting.
You make my every single day better with your videos, thank you so much, ilyyyy!!! xx
Tortum, love them! One of my favorites in my collection.
That looks like something my cats would enjoy munching on... There's a reason why my spider plant is hanging...
For me it’s the witchcraft orchid, hands down. Both of mine are in spike right now, right in time for Halloween 👻
omg I still need one 🥺🖤 that is so awesome!!
I love Dracula orchids, I find them hard to grow because they require a cooler and dryer period in the winter, which forces me to move them to a cooler place in winter. At some point I always forget that they are there, neglect to water them and they die off…. 😞 so sad

Omg it actually crossed my mind when I was filming haha! But mine isn’t very hairy yet :( can’t wait until it’s more mature!
There's a plant that looks like a brain, I don't know the name but it's cool asf. I've named Syngonium Bloody Mary, it was my first red back plant.

Have you seen Philodendron Squamicaule?
Dracopelta means dragonskin - perfect name!
Awesome music at the end.
