When I see spider mites on a plant I give it a shower and use the shower head wand to directly spray the leaves and all over the stems. Then I treat with insecticidal soap. I think physicly washing away the pests and realy getting inbetween all the stems helps a lot and the plant usually perks up after the "rain forest" treatment.

When I saw that bonsai in a globe pot, in one of your previous videos, I fell in love so I asked my husband if he could buy one for me for our anniversary instead of flowers. He searched 3 different Home Depot’s, here in Central FL and nobody had them but your Home Depot in Grand Rapids still has it…taunting me! 😩

I got a smaller Fan Aloe at a local Lowes and a Euphorbia Medusa Head. They were on my wish list. Yippee!!!
I killed several Hoya curtisii, until I found a hanging basket three years ago at Lowe’s. The secret is lots of light. And do not water until the leaves are bendable. I fertilize each watering and spray with orchid fertilizer on the leaves every Monday. She grows like a weed. ❤

Rattlesnake calathea is complicated but if you figure out where it wants to be it's pretty good. The stromanthe...I struggled with them but I have finally mastered it. Mine is growing and beautiful. It sits in the kitchen about 3 feet from a south facing window

Hi 👋 please put the string on the wick and grows back down in the tray with water.. so many people pick up the plant and don’t tuck the string back down in the water, then they die. That is the water source for them. 😊

Hi Ashley, love the Ric Rac Cactus you picked up and what a deal! Do you feel that the stores/shops in Michigan have better inventory of plants than Charlotte or about the same? It’s been years since I visited Michigan and unfortunately I didn’t get to shop plants on that trip. I left Michigan with a great impression of the State and the people. So glad you are getting to enjoy their hospitality. Take care! 👌🪴🥰

There were some great finds there. Loved the birds nest anthurium (haven’t seen that variety in the UK) and the sansevieria on the lower shelves, maybe golden flame? Lovely colouring. I think the epiphyllum was a great choice. I picked one up in Autumn and it’s got through Winter with no problems (draughty flat, not great light levels) so it’ll do well for you.
PS the plant that you described as possibly a type of aralia, near 19:26, looked like radermachera sinica, commonly called China Doll or Emerald Tree over here. It has a very elegant growth pattern but I’m not great with them as they don’t like to dry out too much 💕 🪴

It has been a while since I bought one, but Hydranges color will vary with your soil pH. You will get one color if you soil leans toward acidic and another if you soil leans towards alkaline. I was in Home depot here in Greensboro about a month or so ago, and they had a display of absolutely HUGE Peace Lilies in the most gorgeous shape! AND they were on sale for $16 normally like $48!!!! But I just could not get over there not being a single brown spot or ripped leaf! They were absolutely perfect!! I wish I had more room as I would have come home with a few of them. But the one I did bring home is doing wonderfully for me. I was shocked they were on sale and in that great a shape. Typically, in my HD anyway, the condition has always been beat up. I do need to get over to one of the stores, I want to get 2 Tradiscantia Wandering Jew's. Mine both died last year and they look so beautiful in my south facing bedroom windows, All the bright sun pulls out some really beautiful silver shimmers!!
