      @@kestrels-in-the-sky Ill give you one example; battle of seelow heights which was in 1945 outside of berlin , had over 100k troops, 20th Panzer Division, 25th Panzergrenadier Division, 9th Fallschirmjäger Division, 11th SS Volunteer Panzergrenadier Division "Nordland", 5th Jäger Division . With minor elements from the Luftwaffe and Volkssturm.
      The last being what you mentioned.

      ​@t2av159 exactly "Battle" in just about every case the Germans took everything they could spare and use it everything that wasn't much use was used secondarily which was why in 1945 as the war progressed further into Germany you see actions fought with more and more Volksturm and other militia groups and less conventional army units. In many cases guard and other auxiliary units were made of foreign volunteers or people judged unfit for frontline fighting. This is why many of the soldiers at Dday were former Soviet soldiers in the 243rd and 709th Static Infantry in the Wehmarcht

    My mum was a survivor of Theresienstadt, Majdanek, and Auschwitz and would tell THE darkest jokes about those days. Her fellow survivor would laugh & agree - but the quips would horrify those who had never had a day of hardship in their lives (she actually had some snowflake 20 something DEMAND she apologise for something she said LOL). She would've enjoyed this video immensely. Her motto was "Oib zey halt'n dikh fun lakhn, zey hoib'n gevinen" (roughly translated from Yiddish: When they've stopped you from laughing, they've won". Good on you, lads. Great video!

      @@Edjones-yf6xk Probably the same as the vast MAJORITY of people who ever were in the refugee and work camps survived. By not getting sick or doing anything to get themselves killed. Tho its really ironic that they still call them death camps dispite close to 70% of anyone who was ever sent to them surviving.

      @@Edjones-yf6xk Most camps were concentration camps or work camps, rather than death camps. So while in all of them the guards were monsters, people were moved from one to another as they got crowded, until they eventually ended up in a death camp.

    This dark historical drama is absolutely amazing!! It's so refreshing to see... Since 98% of UA-cam is family friendly shit comedy like awful poop jokes and shitty sexual humor. Your content is such a breath of fresh air!! Keep up the fantastic videos! You should do other historical events like the ATF at Waco or jfk assassination, hope these examples aren't to soon

    I don't know how HEMA will feel about the "Rise of Kingdoms Advert" technique, some might call it an ahistorical move while others might argue that if Rise of Kingdoms had existed in the medieval or early modern eras then its use might have been added in the treatises, obviously I can't speak for anyone in HEMA so I guess its up to them as to how authentic this move is.
