    3 months ago I happened to stumble across Dr. Ekberg and Dr. Berg's videos on weight loss and insulin resistance. Since then, I have lost over 30 pounds and for the first time in my life, my lab results for my semi annual check up were all within acceptable range. In fact, my doctor was so shocked at the change that he spent most of my exam in awe of what I had accomplished by cutting out sugar and carbs and fasting twice a week. These 2 doctors speak facts.

    One year of high fat - low carb diet behind and I am no longer overweight according to BMI. It was super easy and took almost no effort. I just stopped eating at restaurants and lunch places and started to make my own food, and left out all the carbs. Salmon in creamy sauce with sallad and vegetables tastes even better without rice or potatoes. I eat better tasting food than ever and I am almost never hungry. I did not even exercise much since i am super lazy, but at least I do some long walks every now and then. This channel has been great help in the journey.

      @s.marshian8455 2 роки тому +2

      @@tonjahooper1502 I can’t speak for Kelly on what she did, but the diet will definitely be the most important factor to start the weight loss. That along with a balanced workout program of some form of strength training and some form of cardio. And sleep. Lol, trying to get back on track myself right now so not doing too hot with those three but it’s a process.

    • @arishem555
      @arishem555 2 роки тому +1

      @@tonjahooper1502 everyone is really different. we have different DNA and someone can do something more easy than the others. Like let's say if my parents from Syberia originally, - I have that DNA which is trying to store always as much as possible and it's not easy to cheat the body. Despite I live now in Houston. But I crossed one russian blogger today and he said a very interesting thing. Calculate the HR (220-age)*0.7. For my 40y it is 126. And the he proposed at least once per week exercise in a next way: walk/run on the pulse you've calculated. For sure you cannot keep it very precise, so, +-10 should be fine. And the scheme is: 45 minutes easy walk/run and 45 chilling rest (not doing anything, sit done and read the book). Then repeat 45 minutes and then again rest. Repeat it that many times as you can. Plan your day so you can walk somewhere nice place to get the result. Also, he mentioned that don't eat anything before, during exercises and a bit after. Only water allowed. No juices or tea. Just water. The reason for that what he said, - is that during those rest intervals, - underskin fat is moving to the muscles. And when you are working out (lightly), - it's burning muscle fat. So with this training, we are "cheating" the system and asking the body to move skin fat to the muscles. With that approach, he said half of the spent energy will be the fat. Just started today that system and will see how it goes. With that said, - I'm eating healthy, no meats, no alco, less sugars, only wild-caught fish, only organic and non-gmo, .... doing bicycle, treadmill and walking home. Also going to to the park when it's not that cold and so on. Plus not eating after 6 lol. Will see where it goes with that technic.

    I bought a pressure/rice cooker and started loading it with veggies. I've noticed my love handles are going down and I'm walking sleeker. Prior to covid lockdown I was 180 lbs and eating at salad bars. Since those are no longer around I felt lost, and going back to junk food. This little pressure cooker has helped me so far. I'm not eating carbs after 7pm unless it's in the form of veggies.
    Last night I cooked salmon in foil in the cooker, with sweet potatoes, carrots, asparagus, zucchini, broccoli, and onions on the veggie tray above. It's very easy and not over cooked.

    Having had graves disease I know for a fact that calories in calories out have very little to do with weight. Graves is hyper thyroidism. I lost 22kgs in a year eating whatever I wanted and plenty of it. Weight is all hormones. When my thyroid was removed I put on 35kgs in less than a year eating much less. Removing carbs and sugar for a year I'm down 20kgs by not raising insulin in my body very often. What Dr Sten is teaching is true not a myth. I'm aiming for another 10kgs loss to reach a healthy weight which will be a dream to maintain! Tks Dr for telling everyone how it really works

    For most people losing weight can often be an emotionally charged and difficult journey. A goal that seems so insurmountable in some ways.

    I’ve been on the intermittent fasting since January 17, 2022. I started with two meals a day, on the third day I wasn’t very hungry so I tried one meal a day, then I tried a two day fast, then three days on my third week, so far I lost 35 pounds. By the end of the month I have not lost any more weight. I do healthy keto. I decided to do a 7 day fast, I’m now on my fourth day. I only drink water and take vitamins B12 & B1 & D. I also take a hypothyroidism pill. I noticed I have not been able to have any bowel movement during my extended fast. Please help. I’m glad to have found your channel. Thank you.

    Dr. Ekberg’s videos convinced me to start Keto 4 months ago, and I’m glad to say that I’ve maintained my Keto lifestyle ever since. Before, I was lethargic, I get tired easily and had a fat belly from consuming too much carbs and sugar. I was not overweight but I could feel my metabolism getting worse, and exercising did not do any good. I finally realized that I had to change my eating habits thanks to Dr. Ekberg’s video on insulin and how it affected our metabolism. That did it, I went straight on Keto the next day! 😁 I have lost 7 kg, lost my belly fat and feel like I did in my 20s - so full of energy! Dr. Ekberg, thank you for sharing your knowledge and convincing people to adopt a healthier lifestyle.

    @jackkenny4194 2 роки тому +37

    #1 is sustainable diet (without healthy diet cannot loose fat even if excersising) veggies, fruits, nuts, seeds, sugary foods such as 75-85% dark chocolate when you have cravings or occasional smoothie with greek yogurt and fruits. #2 is high intensity excerise but any excerise is good. Try playing a sport you like if you are able. #3 is being being happy with your progress and realizing it takes time. #4 STOP SMOKING, your lungs (and heart) will thank you and exercise won't suck so much.

      @jackkenny4194 2 роки тому +1

      @@rodhurst5831 you must be new to health... fruit is a great way at getting vitamins and other micronutrients not found as much in vegetables and is also a great way to get carbs/natural sugar (therefore energy) before workouts. Natural sugars are needed in smaller amounts but things like bananas and grapes should be eaten less frequently. One banana a day or a small handle full of grapes before a workout is nothing but healthy for you.
