Man, i really like your content, but i have one question: Why are you measuring the average quali gap in seconds? It would seem more logical to use percentage (like 1:40 = 100%, 1:41 = 101% etc), which would make results more accurate, or for any quali results multiply both drivers' results by a number that would make the faster driver's time a set constant (like 1:30 for example) and then take measurements. Using original gaps from qualis is inaccurate simply because there is a huge difference in track lengths in the calendar and losing 1 second in spa is a better result than losing 0.7s in monza or monaco. I have a bad english but i hope you understood what i mean

I get what you mean. If I wanted to compare gaps at two tracks such as Spa and Red Bull ring where there's a massive difference in lap time that would make a lot of sense. However over the course of a season with many different tracks I feel it's acceptable to use the raw median to compare as the difference from season to season ( ie. Comparing 2014 to 2024) is very small. In addition the raw numbers are more intuitive to understand so it's an easier benchmark for the viewer to understand. Hope this helps.

I am sure Ford probably also didn't want Yuki (because Honda) for '26 and '25

If you factor in 2 of Yuki’s points vs Lawson came by way of a penalty on Piastri for taking out Lawson it’s a lot closer. Also Lawson was in line for points at AD before his pit crew put a stop to it.

Liam needs to outperform both Checo and Yuki. Checo got 2d in 2024 1st race so its clear Liam needs to win that first race. If he does not outperform Checo immediately none of this was needed.
