Freeze Dryer cooling tips

- I have had many followers express concern about operating their Freeze Dryer in warm environments. In this video I offer several tips and methods to keep your freeze dryer operating efficiently. All these methods are, for most, are not necessary if your environment is constantly in the low 70"s but for those who are faced with warmer environments any if not all combined will go a long way toward averting a meltdown.

I have my FD set up with the same fan on the in-take side, I also have a floor fan set on the other side that has the pump. Thank you for all the information that you share.
I ran my freeze dryer for the first time and while I was at work apparently the room reached a temp of around 110 which anything above 105 automatically voids the warranty. Now I am here hoping I can keep it from breaking.

I can’t thank you enough for your informative and helpful advice and insight on freeze drying! I’m sorry I brought up isopropyl alcohol on another post(I couldn’t get back in to that exact one because I’m not on google). I’ve had my Harvrst Right freeze dryer for over a month now and I haven’t even tried it. I’m so scared of doing something wrong! I’m watching as many of your videos as you have made, and the other guy I mentioned because both of you approach it scientifically, which I’m all about! I’m trying to learn from you so I don’t make the mistakes I’ve heard others have done! I don’t know what my problem is!

Mine says it is too warm if the room temp gets above 70 degrees. My house is air conditioned and never gets above 72 degrees but the freeze dryer is generating a lot of waste heat. I'm going to get rid of this thing. It takes at least 48 hours of time to dry anything and it can be a pain in the butt. I have two fans going in there all the time it's running but that doesn't seem to help. Today it's 52 degrees and I have the window open. Maybe that will keep it from overheating.

Do you use the FD trays in your dehydrator or do you transfer to another tray?
Good information to extend the use of the FD in the garage during warm weather. Any ideas on how to improve the function of the freeze dryer if temperatures drop below 45 degrees.
