I always thought that the gritty 2d atmosphere of original fallout can't be recreated in the creation engine or in 3d at all, this proves me wrong. Amazing work !!!
Welcome to what happens when a team who care about the world and themeingof fallout are in charge it. Very rare these days
@@trentr9762you're so full of it it's hilarious. Fallout 3 and 4 are the best Fallouts I still play them regularly.
@@hihosilver1234let me guess.. you havent been f***king in the 90s?😂
It's definitely closer to that original feel
It can, if you do it with due respect to the og, and you care about the franchise more than money
Incredible. Fallout 2 is my all time favorite entry in the franchise and the love you guys are putting into it is beyond words. Please don't stop.
The question is, how to remake the car ;)
@@oxygenasturia5706 There actually are some vehicle mods in Fallout 4. So this shouldn't be a problem.
Ok. I know, the mods still suck. But "maybe". ;-)
@@elloboksithe one reason I’d prefer this mod to be in new vegas is because of the highwayman mod. It’s actually really well done and it drives extremely well for a mod. But other than that I’d rather have it in 4 because of the better graphics lol
@@liluziflop966theoretically the highwayman mod is quite possible in FO4. New Vegas engine is practicaly unchanged from FO3, and FO4 physics are pretty similar.
You have no clue how excited I am at seeing Fallout 4 Project Arroyo coming to fruition. I can hardly walk in a straight line, I'm so excited.☺
You are not ready for it, but zig zagging around is what peak movement looks like.
It's binding in the crotch area!
Imagine having to take a sobriety test and trying to explain to the cops that you aren't drunk, just excited.
The good news is that not walking in a straight line will make it less likely that you fall into a vat of radioactive waste.
They tend to be on staggering, alternating sides.
Yea the jet does that 2 ya
feel bad for the sap who has to voice myron
If F4NV comes a while after this, whoever voices Myron HAS to voice Boone
Boone
Low int female player interaction
They can use ai so
@@imabigbadgirl1273 that's shitty tho
I can't wait to see Frank Horrigan.
Yes, me too.....
I myself can't wait to see Dornan
You've gotten a lot farther than you should have, but then you haven't met Frank Horrigan either. You kind of said that already. Sorry, my bad.
Can't wait to see how they'll handle, from a technical perspective, the "secret" tunnel in the Wanamingo Mines
The fact that I started playing the original game recently make me want to play this masterpiece already ❤ Good work guys
So happy to see you guys haven't quit.
I don't want to be the bad guy here but
what's the reason to re-create oldschool 2D Fallout with totally different mechanics in 3D? Really it's yet another project that won't be even done at all because it make's no sense to do so. Author's of those projects can feels original but they're not. C'mon guys. It would be 100x better if some indie game developers and artists try to refresh the game to nowadays standards - with new hd textures, more details, more ux friendly approach, better but familiar user interface. Making another 2d => 3d trailers is just pointless.
@@akikaurismaki_ Please explain how this "makes no sense to do" ?
Hopefully the recent update to fallout 4 won't fuck with it like it did fallout London, just found out about this project
@@akikaurismaki_ what's the reason to create old 2D games? none other than to simply do what Bethesda isn't doing
@@akikaurismaki_ Your comment gives me the impression that you want to whine about a project for the sole reason just to whine. You didn't even have a real criticism.
I know we are all waiting semi patiently for this one
I guess the hardest part will be filling in the 90 % of the map that's couldn't be fast traveled to.
No, I think the hardest part is trying to replicate the level design of the original version while trying not to expose some of the issues that occurs with the translation in perspectives. (Like when they showcased the Temple of Trials; The hallways being so boxy sticks out in 3D like a sore thumb and feels extremely gamey.)
@@dragonbornexpress5650 i dont think this is the case here at all they did an extremely good job i cant see what you are talking about, and how hard would it be to use the same system of travel with the map and random encounters dont they already have a mod for that, then they only need to fill in most areas. Making these areas are much harder than the actual empty map areas thats easy to lay out its hard to make all the models for everything in these buildings that arent already made, trees and terrain are easily replicated and repurposed for many different games and things they can change the colors and make it work otherwise i doubt they would have spent the time making half of the game.
There are two solutions. first would be a system just like the original with an overworld travel map that you warp to when you walk into a travel zone and select yes on a prompt, and within it the random encounter rng that could drop you off at one of the same random encounters but in full 3d. If that isn't possible, the world could just be scaled down enough to be travelable and the random encounters sprinkled about the wastes. I would be fine with either if the game has working quests that's all i care about really.
@@eclipsegst9419I think the first option is the best because one thing I really liked about the originals was that thanks to the world map, the (lorewise) game area felt huge and it felt very significant travelling from one place to another, seeing the days passing and all. It truly added to the role-playing element for me but I truly understand if they'd prefer to scale down the map, since this is a mod and it's already mind blowing by itself that they're remaking Fallout 2 into a whole different game engine!! :)
@@AviTwesvii it would be really cool I just don't personally know if the mod tools allow that kind of adding mechanics that didn't ship with the game or not.
love how you turned the temple of trials into a museum of sorts, with the non functional ceiling lights replaced by torches etc. And then the toxic caves are especially atmospheric, love the amount of detail in the final room as well! This makes me so happy to see
PS I kind of wish you used the same original, cartoonish green toxic goo for the Arroyo hunting grounds as well. I feel like it really lent itself to the absurd comic book style aesthetic of the originals.
More power to ya, this is ambitious as heck!
Guys you're awesome!!! What an atmosphere! You really catch and transfer F2 spirit which is my favorite part ever! Keep doin what you do, wait for next episodes!
Can't even comprehend how I would feel playing this,I don't even know if I want to risk my nostalgia.
Hunting geckos in the rocks and trees has the potential to be terrifying at low levels
You are the one being hunted by them in the early game lol
I legit thought this project was dead. Glad to see it's back in full force.
Just seen the TikTok ad, very very cool idea, I can’t wait to see it done. I’d be so cool to see the game like this after all this time
Amazing work! Looking forward to seeing some enemy models, especially Frank Horrigan.
Fallout 2 was the first real RPG I ever played. This makes me so happy to see.
Amazing work. This is such a massive undertaking that I don't know whether I'll be around in the far future when it's complete - but I sure hope I am.
This is terrific! I've recently been playing through F2 again and seeing these 3d recreations are fantastic. I hope to see this mod have a long lifetime and come out great. Best of luck guys!
This looks amazing, i'm very happy to see all the progress that's being made !
Many congrats and thanks to all the people involved in this project !
The Aroyo tribak temple assets look a bit morrowindesque , but the vibe is a huge positive. Maybe a bit less smooth ceilings and rougher materials could make it feel less like an elder scrolls dungeon...
Since it made no sense lore-wise for tribals to build something to that scale post-war they took advice from the Fallout Bible and made it into a pre-war museum that survived intact. Everything inside is plastic and cement, if it looks fake it's because it is meant to be.
The added rope cordons seem to suggest they're going with a popular fan theory, which is that The Temple of Trials was formerly some kind of hokey tourist trap before the bombs dropped.
I dont remember where I read, I thibk it was in the Fallout Bible, that the temple of trials was a church@@CrizzyEyes
@@Bobba_raekus. I guess, but that doesn't explain just how boxy the hallways appear to be; Why not collapsed walls revealing abandoned offices or old maintenance tunnels?
When worse graphics, then better imagination work. It is a secret atmosphere in the old type of RPG.
Looking amazing so far! Great work!
it breaks my hart to see these proejcts because im sure most of them are never going to be finished
looks incredible, great work to all involved
Visually impressive. If the same attention to detail is paid to the game narrative and story, it could be a huge success. I loved Fallout 2 the most out of all the franchise. I can't wait to see Gecko, Vault City, and the Sierra Army Depot. Not to mention the alien Wanamingos in Redding. Such a unique addition to the Fallout Universe.
I played F1 and F2 since release, let me tell you, seeing this is a great excuse to revisit the game after decades.
WOW! This looks fantastic. Using the original as a comparison was a great way to show how it's staying true to the original while establishing something new.
Words cannot express how much hope I have for all of you on the team! I understand this mod might be six years or more out, but goddamn am I willing to wait.
This looks really cool! Would love to be able to play it like this!
This is awesome! It really looks so great. I look forward to seeing more
Amazing job guys
the sound track, the game atmosphere, I mean everything of this game was top notch. btw you guys are making something remarkable. keepup the good work.
For me FO2 is still best game in the series :)
This looks amazing! Fingers crossed, that the team will be able to publish a finished mod someday!
I just bought it for 2.50$
I've been waiting for this game remake for soooooo long, this is the best game that I've ever played in my childhood
Proper remaster. It shows how small fallout 2 really was
Its a remake, not a remaster
@@void7837 it is disputable. It is remake which seems to copy original content, just makes it 3d. Let's just call it good remake
@@artorias550 I wonder how they're gonna implement the car, idk if it'll actually be drivable or there's a cutscene where you enter and it zooms and fades away to reveal the world map in the car looking at the pipboy
@@WindiChilliwackprobably a static object that opens an interactive map but would be cool if it had an animation of entering the car opening a map and selecting the location for immersion
Fallout 2 was HUGE. It spanned STATES, not just a major city like DC or Boston, STATES.....
I would like to see it as close to the original as possible, instead of experimenting with design. So the thought "Oh, I've been here!" will happen often.
Looking forward to this, hopefully this and the other remakes get finished and are great
This looks just amazing, can't wait until we can play this mod!
Now if only someone would remake Fallout 3+ in the Fallout 1/2 format. The new games make me super motion sick!
My dad has the same problem. Unless you have an underlying condition, anyone can train to get through motion sickness. You just have to *very* slowly increase the amount of time you played. Totally understand if you don’t wanna take the risk though
I don't really understand how.
Try Fallout Nevada, that was really good
how can they make you motion sick😂😂😂 you need to just play board games old man
I don't often get hyped anymore but this seriously got me going, those working on this are amazing!!!
Very beautyful! Waiting release
I'm very thankful to you guys. Let's see how these well-designed quests and storylines translate to the new medium. Your experiments are invaluable.
Absolutely awesome!
This looks really good. My opinion is tho that you guys are being too faithful to the source material, the tile sets back then were built for the perspective you played them in, thus viewing it in first person these feel like doom maps with really great quality control, give us more of that Z axis! Still great effort and attention to detail, that temple tile set looks amazing and is really accurate!
I'd rather they don't get over ambitious and this thing has even a 5% chance of getting finished.
Don't think that z axis is really worth it given the context.
@@dommoore6180 nah you’re right, I’d rather have them finish then not and adding scope to a project of passion can slow its development
Big tip, make the tutorial maze either skippable, or put a big reward at the end, otherwise you will loose half your audience five minutes into the game.
Otherwise looks great.
Good luck with your endevor.
Awesome work. Subbed and turned on notifications. Can't wait to see this completed.
This once again proves that Fallout 4 is indeed the best fallout. I will be able to play every single Fallout inside Fallout 4.
Love these games, have played them multiple time start to finish, I didn't realised I needed a fps version of this till now,
I thank you! 🎉❤
Go go! guys you are all great!!!
Can't wait
Looks great - you've captured that Creation Engine jank perfectly!
Not as if Fallout 2 wasn't already broken; The original version is filled to the brim with bugs and glitches. (Almost like developing a full sequel for PC's in only a year is gonna leave the final product busted.)
Hello team of fallout project arroyo. The UA-camr called "UnsanityLIVE" would like to voice act for free. He has some experience in the voice acting industry. He has voice acted in the mod "Fallout Miami" and two other mods that sadly got canceled
>Visuals are not Final
With these visuals, I think you guys will be just going Overkill with it lol!
Amazing works guys, can't wait to see more of it!
Why doesn't bgs just help these modders to give us content and everyone gets a pay day 😭
They always focus on stuff that doesn't matter its obvious fallout and doom and elder scrolls is their cash cows yet they try to work on less important stuff
@anti4107
It makes so sense man. Remakes of the classic fallouts with updated mods would friggin print money but they just don't do it
@@AloneInThePark they could be making something like that while making us wait for fallout 5 but no they wasted time on starfield a game that died shortly after releasing
Can't wait to see Your work on Navarro/San Francisco. Amazing job.
So did that next gen update screw up much like with other fan stuff?
At this point not really since fallout London downgraded and so will the upcoming fallout 1: remake demo.
Warms my heart to see my beloved Fallout 2 treated with such reverence. Hope this stays the course. Finally a 3D fallout with the original SPECIAL in place.
More excited for this than Fallout London
The temple actually has no roof, guys!
If they don't let us date a sentient Deathclussy then the devs failed us.
That temple dungeon is perhaps translated a little to literally. The flat ceiling and grid aligned layout doesn't translate to 3D as well as everything else. Like a little creative liberty wouldn't have gone amiss.
Yeah, I concur on that; Hell, given the new decorations implying that it was a tourist attraction before the Great War, why not take advantage of that new background? Add a collapsed gift shop, tear down some of the walls to show off abandoned maintenance tunnels, that sort of stuff?
Nice
Looks great!
May I suggest vaulted ceilings for the dungeons? It will make the rooms feel bigger and more impressive.
I know the visuals aren't final, but a custom enb and weather addition to this would really seal the deal.
Something hot and smoggy looking would sell it for me even more. But as I said I know this isn't final and I trust yall will have it look even better on release
If todd fucks this up like fallout London I will get be having more than words for him
This shouldn’t take long either besides the new update, this is so dope
I like how it kept the general art style and didnt try to go photo realistic or anything
This looks great! Awesome work so far. Looking forward to the release if one is coming. Kudos
THIS. This is exactly what I'd love to see from Bethesda. No Starfield, no pointless updates that only break the already broken games. Just a simple F2 3D conversion. We already have Half-Life 1 and Diablo 2 remade masterfully. Now only F2 remains and that's my 3 all time favorite games of all time!
What a beauty, i really really hope this come true, all of my support!
I'm not gonna lie... When it comes to RPGs I prefer isometric look. It just give it timeless, detailed look.
I can't tell you how much I'm hyped with this, it's incredible.
Can't wait see to how New Reno turns out looking 😳
I'm not one to usually give comments on videos like this but this is very well done. Kudos.
Now, show us the end area with the president.
I'd buy this no questions asked, this looks AMAZING.
Amazing job, you’re doing great, keep at it, we believe in you!
This is like seeing Honest Hearts for the first time all over again!
subbed, very excited well done!
Ok, I get it, Fallout 3 and following games added lots of fans and a new point of view to the game, but first 2 (and the Tactics) have their own style and genre. I hope they remake them without changing game style and mechanics with a more modern graphics.
Looks great. I couldn't help cringing when you were walking over that radioactive waste.
Looks great, congratulations for the team
I can't wait for this, so many great Fallout 4 mods on the radar
why the hell everyone thinks that everything should be in 3d 1st/3rd person
give us 3d isometric view in fallout 2 style and you will be blessed with million of likes
I tried playing Fallout 1 recently and got turned off by the isometric view. Specifically, how you couldn't see objects that were out in the open, because the view meant a wall was between the object and the camera. Level designers could have taken pains to avoid that situation, but they didn't.
I remember when isometric was the order of the day (i.e. Ultima 6), and I really don't miss those days.
Bunker walls in the last part should be more worn and rusted. In the old game the place looks like it’s ancient. Because it is.
I always felt like an archaeologist while delving into such places. Uncovering mysteries of an ancient civilization.
Keep this up guys, its just awesome 🍻
I can’t wait to see that old Sentry Bot come to life. Hope to have that as a stand-alone Automatron mod, too.
Frank Horrigan is about to be even scarier now that hes got better graphics 😅
With all those "AI conversation/interaction mods" coming to FO4/Skyrim, I am still hoping that some modders could see some day, that interplays old Fallout games (1 & 2) have huge potential with AI generated conversations, as those are text based conversations and it would not bother players that much to wait for a response from NPCs/Followers/Enemies, and it would add so much to the potential of the already legendary (old) games.
Looks incredible! It captures the feeling the world of F2 gives
They may as well be final my dudes, cause this shit is AWESOME. I love how you realized that, ngl, as much as we love it, some areas in F2 are FUGLY man, and went ahead with a little creative freedom to still keep 90% of the feel, but make the areas feel more dynamic and lively. Bravo.
For the developers and fans-i am a 87'born Fallout series fan. If it will be full game with all main locations and quests i am able to pay for it about 80-100$.Fans like my post let them know they will sell more than one copy!
Looks great, can't wait to see what you do with the den and new reno!
Please keep working on this gem! Love you guys
