I think the scenery graphics are better in Forza Motorsport because they look more natural. I think the car modeling in GT7 is really beautiful. In the end, both are good.
I have Forza Motorsport on the Steam store, but I recognize the beauty of GT7, its car modeling details that come closest to perfection, the precision of the engine sounds, the classic nostalgia, it's as if GT7 were a more elegant game, I wish I could play it on PC, Sony will probably only release it when its successor is close to being released. I'm being honest, it's just what I think, if you don't think the same way I won't take away your reasons!
Great video! Please make a comparison of Road Atlanta next. As for this comparison, both cars look so close that I couldn't even tell which game was which in the thumbnail (before seeing the watermarks)

- For people complaining about colors : Have y'all ever been outside or in the real world? In real life, there is basically no limit to how saturated colors look whereas the saturation in games is fundamentally technically limited. As a photographer, it does seem like GT7 has some sort of warming yellow/green filter which resembles the look of classical cinema film from both Kodak and Fujifilm. It seems like GT7 goes for peak green like early season with healthy amounts of rain whereas FM8 seems to go for brownish later dry season which also exists. The previously mentioned filter in GT7 also partly creates the sky color, which appears to me closer in tone to the real sky, while FM8 is closer in terms of saturation. Overall, it would seems like FM8 would rather opts for some kind of warming chocolate filter with strong oranges/browns (greenery) and purple (sky). None of them are perfectly accurate and both of them have flaws. GT7 goes for a classic film/photographic look that is aestheticly pleasing to many people but to me that also seems like is pretty appealing and referential to photographers especially with the colors and the bloom effect on highlights. Also, for those complaining about the saturation, you can absolutely tone it down in game so the criticism that "the game looks oversaturated" is basically invalid. Forza goes for a look that seems pretty original and audacious to me. As someone who consumes a lot of photography content, I rarely see people going the "chocolate" route. It's a fairly rare filter and most people are used to the classic greenish film look rather than that and as random and weird as it seems to me, I actually have to applaud the devs for going that way, though it can also seems like they don't always quite know what they're doing. - For the lighting : Again both games seems to have different approaches to lighting. GT7 goes for a classic cinema/photographic look prioritising highlights with crushed shadows, very reminiscent of early film look that had bad light sensitivity so it was often barely exposed enough resulting in crushed shadows with low details. Or even slide film that was widely used in journalism that was sentitive to highlights and that would often create this very saturated looking sky, tho with a more purple tone. It seems to me again like the look of the game is very much designed in a referential manner that is appealing to photographers, which would be 100% coherent with the very elitist approach of the game (I also believe the director of the game Kazunori Yamauchi is a photographer himself). It comes off to me as both cheesy and pretentious, yet very pleasant to those who are appealed by this actually quite popular and widely represented aesthetic. Forza goes for a more logical and typical to videogames approach of maximizing details, which leads to slightly blown out or lighter highlights. It is very functional and can be seen in most other racing game like PC2 and ACC, but also appears a bit "barbaric" and "unrefined" (for those purists who hold the highlights as sacred, which are somewhat inevitably butchered in this approach). - As much as I personally enjoy GT7's look, those trees are idiotic looking at best. However, tracks are also replicated to the treeline level, which is absurd and imo commands a huge amount of respect. Forza mostly goes for a "vibes first" approach, with tracks that feels nice and alive but aren't quite accurate representations of what the actual tracks look like (that and the ridiculous FOV that makes for wonky environments but a genuinely good sense of speed; you know, trade-offs). They aren't too bothered about track accuracy, but will trade it for "feels and vibes", which is definitely not an invalid choice, contrary to what some GT7 fanboys think. - Sounds : GT7's road cars mostly sounds like garbage with the stock exhaust equipped, however, you can make most of them sound amazing just by equiping a better exhaust system, including the Huracan in this video which can absolutely be made to sound glorious given a proper racing exhaust. I believe Forza cars already sound almost (and sometimes already way too) insane out of the box, which sadly leaves little place for adjustment if required because god knows they do not nail every car sounds... Better sounds off the bat (FM8) vs better sounds in the end (GT7) is the choice people get to make in the end. Hope my comment could give people some insight into the choices that were made in these games and allow them to make better criticism in the future instead of just going for the easy "GT7 too saturated" or "FM8 too desaturated" "looks like trash". Both games were obviously made very differently with different intent and approach and should be criticized with those in mind rather than on the basis of pure aesthetical preferences, which are destined and determined to never be resolved. ✌ Edit : Wording

So your argument for forza looking better is bc you can see the car's interior from the exterior (which doesn't make a damn sense since it's the same in gt7 and every racing game) and that the track is better bc of the game's washed out color palette? Damn, nice "built from the ground up" title you got there m8.
Why are people seriously still trying to defend Forza? With each game it’s just continually gotten worse. That game has had one of the biggest fall off’s in any console racing game. “Built from the ground up”.
This channel is full of forza fanboys its crazy. Gt7 wins this one hands down forza just cant match gt car detail. The gt7 huracan could sound a bit less muffled through,
Had to be said, This is one of the few occasions where Forza actually wins. Sound, car model and environment. GT7 colours look almost arcade like here for whatever reason.
@@SixPathsOfJinforza dosent win on the car model, forget that buddy. Their overall more detail going on gt7. Neither of the games get the sound dialed in perfectly, gt7 is goo muffled, fm sounds decent during revs when it standing still but when driving the sounds gets quite off and shifting is terrible, its way to slow campared to the real thing, gt7 get that part more right, Fm has always had terrible shifting. Nah something is way off with the sound model in gt7 and the way the audio bounces off the Rev limiter it's an issue going back generations and you know distinctly it's GT. The way the camera moves makes it look at odd while driving in 3rd person and sense of speed isn't there. And lighting model on Forza looks far superior and I got to say in this case the huracan model in game on the exterior and interior looks better and sounds far far superior more genuine to the real deal.
Go to a track a listen to the cars and you'll find they sounds more like Forza's with the reverb maybe not all sections of the track are like that but that is just a different approach they took
