  • For this video, I head back to the Carbon River just outside Mount Rainier National Park. Instead of landscape or wildlife photography, I break out my Trangia 27 Cook System to make some lunch during a snowstorm. I explain the various components of the Trangia system - and for this episode use the "gas adapter" to use a standard gas cylinder vs the traditional alcohol burner. The winter conditions make for an excellent day.

Livin' large Tim! That looks better than anything I've ever made in the woods. Bet that hot food tasted extra good in that cold.

Not usually my style, but it was fun to be a little more gourmet. The hot meal tasted great in the snow shower. Thanks!

What a nice scenery, reminds me of back home in the Basque mountains, that is some beautiful snow! There is some peace to when the landscape around you looks like that.
My Tangia 27 is arriving tomorrow, it having a windbreaker in its design is great.

It was the best - actually a great flavor and rivals anything cooked at home. Maybe just the conditions.... HaHa

Why use a cup ? Just eat it from the hot pan .

Great question. The only reason would be the pan will be hot from cooking and I would have to use the pot holder to hold it. The bowl was cool.
