FIA just need to watch this to determine if he has enough Super License points to be in F1, this is madness
The same FIA that refused to give Sebastien Loeb one?
Lando would have a meltdown about this track. He thought Miami was too bumpy
@@MrPrimeafk It might be a bad take, but I think a true street track should be bumpy.
What about all his crashes. Should they watch those too?
@@regibson23 Crashes have nothing to do with a Super License. Every F1 driver has crashed multiple times in F1 and in their junior categories
"Aaaaannnnddd yyyyoooouuuuuu wooonnttt believe it! It's a neeeeeeewwwwwww traaaaaaaaaack recooooooooooord!"
Gutted for his DNF today. He'd be champion already if it weren't for his forced errors.
@@jonlinen225 lol 😆
Penske brother.. I am motor city Ford...
Thank you so much INDYCAR for uploading this. I hope every Pole Lap (for street/road courses at least) will be uploaded here ^^
I hope the pole lap for every oval is uploaded as well...
Whats on his helmet???
@@roddsegovia It's for cooling. The tube feeds air into the helmet so it doesn't get unbearably hot for the drivers.
I'm a huge f1 fan but wow, I love how he drives, he's madhandling the car and the sound!!!! fantastic to the ear!
You honestly HAVE to manhandle the car. Unlike F1 cars, Indycars have no power steering.
@@jonathanj.3695Yeah, you can really notice it in Newgarden’s Thermal onboard. Real pushing the wheel on that track.
More content like this, excellent
F1: porpoising
Long Beach: hold my beer
We need this every race! Good job IndyCar! And great lap Colton!
This was so good it made you feel like that you were in the driver's seat that was 😎 i like Alexander Rossi no 27 and i like Colton herda and hellio cornevas and
Scott Dixon and some more driver's too i hope that Alexander Rossi will will win today there in long beach California cause last week his car messed up on him and he comes in first place and Colton herda comes in 2nd and hellio cornevas comes in third and scott Dixon comes in fourth and today being on a Sunday i hope that God will watch over all of the driver's in today's indy race and will watch over all of them and keep them safe and keep them from harm and don't let anything bad to happen to them and may the best man win
I look forward to watching it at 12 p.m. on cnbc channel 208 on Dish and it goes off at 3 p.m.

thank you for listenting to the fans 🙌
bro was on the limit the whole lap
Finally pole Lap on board 🥰
Nice driving - keeps the car well balanced.
Come and get some if you dare. Great lap.
Wait... why is indycar uploading quality content? This isn't the indycar I know... weird
Hugs from Caracas like 1 and comment 2
I thought it got a bit narrower
Betaiful street circiut long beach ,,,nice view on beach sea ships hotels
I feel like that he’s going to be strong today
is it just me or does long beach feel wider this season
Almost as smooth as a 25yr bottle of scotch
Oh yes
This really was a stunning lap! Shame that he just put it into the wall in the race
Awesome lap. IndyCar's street circuits are as unforgiving as can be.
Indycar has a way to go to catch up with F1 but this is great! I hope they keep posting the Quali laps. These cars look just as fast as this year's F1 cars from this camera anglle.👍
"Indycar has a way to go to catch up with F1" - Maybe in terms of aerodynamics and mechnical grip, but, I think in terms of engine and cost efficiency, Indycar has the upper hand. F1 is too expensive, and too marketing orientated. Well, every motorsport is, but, F1 is really extreme in that regard. I don't think Indycar should go into that direction. But then, it's the U.S., so, they probably won't wind up being a better Formula E.
I think it's way better for the sport to have cars which don't cost hundreds of millions in development.
Indycar never intended to become better or similar to F1. They're a series of their own. Completely different.
Should also included the telemetry in this vid
Anyone know how to watch IndyCar in the UK? Seems like a fun series to watch but not sure how to get into it.
Dylan - Sky Sports F1 is our broadcast partner in the UK. Here's a list of the remaining races this season if you want to watch: www.indycar.com/Schedule
Tom Carnegie approves!
Just by removing 2 gears, it sounds better than F1.
i drove these roads everyday for years, this has to be one of the most grueling tracks in the series for the drivers. they didnt even pave the road LOL brutal
Ironic that the american liberty media has not brought any positive value to the european f1, yet as a long time f1 fan, i certainly find this more entertaining now than watching F1
What's with a pipe attached to the drivers helmet?
The pipe is for cooling. It gets fresh air into the helmet. There is no airflow in the cockpit like in f1 because of the aeroscreen.
@@pfuitoifel Oh got it. I was wondering why F1 doesn't have them. Thanks :)
@@pfuitoifel I just remembered that the stock cars in NASCAR since 2010s also had the pipes that produced cooling features.

I love these cars. I remember once reading that a F3000 car lapped quicker than a CART . Is that still the case with Formula 2 and the current Indy Car?
I'm not positive but I think it might still be true.
@@thathobbyguy6135 I just wondered as these cars look much quicker. Maybe it's just that circuit that makes them appear quicker.
I'd love to see a comparison between a F2, Formula E , Indycar and Hypercar
I think it's a little more track dependent, but they are pretty similar. On a track with long straights and slower corners I'd expect the Indycar to be faster than F2. On a track like Cota or Suzuka I'd expect the F2 car to have a slight edge due to aero alone.
I have the opinion that Indycar should have an internal policy that SF, LMP1, or F2 cars aren't "allowed" to be faster than Indycars under any circumstances. With 900hp and a new chassis, that will almost certainly be the case for the foreseeable future.
@@James-vj5hz Interesting. These modern indycars are beasts. In a straight line they are very quick. The Hypercars are super fast too.
@@lth1072 Formula E is significantly slower than most. HyperCar in WEC is also fairly slow. The pole lap from the Alpine in Sebring was a few seconds slower than the DPi pole time, and the DPi pole time was around 4 seconds slower than Colton's at Long Beach,
Colton slow down. Sheesh
There's probably only 4-5 other drivers in the world that are as fast as Herta right now.
Kyle Larson, Leclerc, verstappen, Hamilton?
@@vwbusjake they woukd be my guess he steam rolled Romaine Grosjean i bet you if he was in a Ferrari he could beat LeClerc
@@vwbusjake sadly hes prob gonna be in the Andretti F1 car if he goes and its going tk be another case of indycar drivers getting shjt on cause they were put in f1 back markers
@@precesionnoreaster1507 hey buddy, guess what👀
He does not need F1. F1 needs him.
F1 driver.. In 3- 2-1
Too bad he kissed the wall a little too hard in T9
first
Indycar > Nascar.
No. You can't change my mind.
You can now f1 is worse than this
Can't compare single-seater to stock car
@@phoenixfire257 I think you spoke too soon.
And crashed
why does indycar onboard look faster even though its slower than f1 by a mile.
