Mine looks nothing like this, the Ribbon is on the left hand side. Some of the visualization tools are at the top. How do I switch it to the view in the video which seems to be the common view?

This AutoCAD version, how can I convert an object to a device? In other autodcad versions that is easily achieved by righ clicking and choosing "convert to" then "device".. this 2024 version has none of that. Neither can I access ACEC modify tools
This is only a brief explanation on the user interface. Drawing realistic objects wiht dimensions, line styles , scales, viewports ask at least 10 hours of intensive education and hard work. Autocad is a very complete software, especially for 2D drawing maybe the best.
im losing my mind here. how do i zoom in autocad with 2 finger dragging on a macbook trackpad. i used to be able to do it and now its not working. i can only use the zoom with the pinch motion or with mouse scrolling. please, someone help me with this.

hey I just downloaded this for my Macbook, why all menus and tool bar are different from yours and older auto cad version. please help me out
Only the interface may change a little, but the basics are the same.

Can i set it so the measurements are always in millimeters?
It is better if you use the metric scale, the standard one. If you want to use Inches, you can change the UNITS as explained in the video.

You can change by units command

What's the command to get a 90 degree straight line ?
You can use the orthogonal (Ortho) tool in the bottom right to lock lines to the x or y axis, then draw a line with two points and specify the length.
