Thankyou WestHobbiesRC for this Informative Video. concerning No Expo on Tx : HH told me why : "There is no transmitter expo used as the flight controller contains present control dynamics per each flight mode with the normal mode being fairly tame, flight mode 1 is mild, and flight mode 2 is relatively aggressive"
Thank you for watching! You can still add TX Expo but yes, the expo is normally done in the FBL. You can set your flight modes for each head speed and style you like.
@@westhobbiesrc8051 Flight modes for each speed - that's another great idea westhobbiesrc8051 , and one which i applied D/R's to my 230s FM's. due to SAFE issues and therefore lots of crashes on the 230s, i cancelled out the SAFE mode in "Digital switch", and just had 3 FM's without SAFE, so FM-0 had 30% d/r, FM-1 had 50% d/r, and FM-2 had 75% d/r. Taught me a lot of confidence flying the 230s with a SAFE option !
Great walkthrough. I'm considering getting exactly this heli with a spektrum tx if I can't setup the brain2 for my 470LP. Yeah, again asking for advice on the brain 🙄. Now regarding binding of servos: When on wizard plate 8 (swashplate setup) I set up pitch +/- 12° elev/ail +/-10° - everything seems fine, NO binding when deflecting the sticks, even at max or min pitch. Great! But: When I exit that plate to let's say plate 5 and deflect the sticks to their max, especially with the pitch stick at min, the front two servos are binding. When clicking back to plate 8, with the same stick deflections, there is no binding. I watched parts of your walkthrough video several times. Wheny you back off the servos to not bind, you use the + and - buttons in the wizard on plate 8, but I noticed you don't check for binding when an other plate is selected. Am I safe to assume that this servo binding is totally normal when not on plate 8? Please confirm. lol I am on my last attempt to set this brain up. Perhaps I am overcomplicating things that aren't even worth mentioning. Idk, I don't find answers for my questions ANYWHERE on ANY forum.
Thanks buddy! It is a fantastic Heli, I just commented on your video. I hope that answers some questions for you. If you watch my iKon set up video I explain about you having to manually adjust pitch in the radio to get an equal. If not you will never get equal positive and negative in the software.
@@westhobbiesrc8051 First of all, thank you for your reply, also on my video. I accept now that especially that servo throw/stick throw discrepancy is normal. Since you mention equal pitch throw pos. and neg., I adjusted that in my taranis radio as you did in your spektrum radio. I get equal pitch throws. +12° and - 12°. That is not the problem (right/left aileron and forward/backward elevator have a difference of 0.5 - 1°, but I don't care, I just don't want any major flaws, I just want to *f i n a l l y* fly this thing). So that is all good in my book. What I find confusing is regarding the swashplate/servo behavior in "check mode" (swashplate setup, plate 8 in the wizard) vs. not in "check mode", like when we're for example on an other plate in the wizard. In "check mode" there's no binding at full ail/elev stick deflections, even at max/min pitch. But if not in "check mode" there is binding at min. pitch and I think full forward elevator & right and left aileron. Do you have that too? I checked your setup video and you don't check for binding outside "check mode". (I'll check later if it might have something to do with the landing skids having this progressive 5° forward tilt.)
hi, new to the hobby, hence this might be a silly question, but does the preloaded file in the NX and IX transmitters set all the curves/rates etc etc to exactly what’s in the manual anyway ? I guess what I’m asking is, if you have the preloaded file, is there any reason/advantage to go through it all, as you have in this video ? Thanks in advance.
Hello! So yes, the pre loaded files have everything that’s in the manual. I personally don’t like expo or rates and prefer different throttle and pitch curves then the manual states. That’s why I went through and changed things. But for the beginner pilot the per load file will get you flying and a great starting point.
I was able to bind my fusion 360 and am loving it so far! The only problem is, I am missing forward programming from my menus list on my NX8. Are there ways to unbind the helicopter or another way to try and fix it?
The fusion 360 is fantastic! Such a great model. My favorite BNF heli from Blade. So try and Rebind the heli like you did and see if the forward programming come back. Some times it won’t show up the first time.
Hi wondering if you could make a video on how to assign safe to normal and safe off on stunt 1 and 2. As they are when you go into the forward programming and turn safe on it is on all three flight modes. or off on all three. any help would be useful.. I have this helicopter ,but this is the same on all there newer flybar unit helis like the new infusion 180. I have a newer radio also. Thanks
If you watch the infusion 180 head fix and gain adjustment video I think it’s two or three videos back. I go over the forward programming on how to turn safe on in normal mode and make sure it’s off in the other two modes. But yes I plan on making a full in-depth video on how to do it.
does anyone know if it is absolutely necessary to use the spektrum ic3 connectors on this heli? I removed those connectors from my spectrum smart batteries and the ESC. I replaced all connectors with regular XT-60s. Will I still be able to program and bind my DX-18 to this heli?
I would recommend getting the biggest radio you can afford. You may not need the channels now but you will grow with the radio. I never thought I would ever use six channels let alone eight let alone 10 or 12 lol I would recommend getting the NX10

My Blade flies great, only issue is I can't get ESC telemetry on my DX9 transmitter.....I have set up the model memory etc as per the manual, have run telemetry autoconfig and still not getting esc telemetry..tried rebinding several times and no effect. Weirdly the aileron lead that is in port two gets switched to port one and the flight controller does magic and the heli Flys same as before but will telemetry!
