👍👍
Merry Christmas! That’s an awesome tractor!
Merry Christmas
Anytime I think of a 4 track tractor it naturally articulates.Renner is on the endangered specis list I see being a single store Deere dealer.Expect that Sydenstiricker/Knobbe will swallow him up one day like Hutsons did with Roeders
Thanks, always enjoy these big tractors.
Very cool video Jason. Always enjoy tillage. We use 2-2730's 9 shank pulled by a Case IH 580 steiger and a 540 Quadtrac on our corn. We use an 8R 410 pulling a 30' 2660VT on our bean stubble.
Very nice tillage set up. How do you like the 2730s?
@@bigtractorpower We like them. It helps with our compaction issues. We've had them for about 4 years now.
6:33 this is perfect for a John Deere commercial.
Now if we could get JD to stop holding its farmers hostage, they would be a fantastic company....which is why so many of them left for Case IH and FENDT. You shouldn’t be forced to actually hack your own tractor just to get it running because JD wants to steal thousands upon thousands of dollars for ‘software updates’.
Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas.

The 12-18 4710 plow is about the Max a 370 hp 8960 can pull. They were just seeing what the 8960 could do.
Merry Christmas 🎄⛄
Merry Christmas.
amazing channel! please more videos of in shop maintenance and repairs too if possible!
Hey Brother, I have watched your video of years. I use to be the one that said if I ever win the lottery I would hire you to shop for equipements. Well. I still have not won the lottery, still just looking at videos. I was wondering something. You always hear someone say this VT or that VT is the best. I suspect you have seen more of them than anyone. So if you thought for the best VT
Thank you for watching. If you win I would be honored to help you pick out a line up.
The best VT. That is a good question. In my observation they all make a good seed bed.
Things that I like:
The Great Plains Turbo Till is the original VT. The newest generation lets you run from 0-50 degrees from just slighting working the ground to almost disking it.
The Kuhn Kruse interceptor with center times for pinning residue does a top notch job. I have one featured in a video on the John Deere 8970 4wd.
In the area of Kentucky I live in Landoll and Case IH dominate the market.
The John Deere 2660VT is built heavy duty and does allot of actions. It’s impressive.
I would also note the Salford Independent. It’s built like a field cultivator with each VT blade mounted independently. For working in wet soil it’s really good.
I would say I have not seen a bad VT. They all have advantages. I would recommend trying them out to see what works in your soil.
Que lindo 👏👏👍👍💪💪🚜🚜🇧🇷
They are moldboard plowing. That’s nice. Haven’t seen that on large farms like these in a while.
No that’s vertical tillage
@@justalittlejonboat4892 you didn’t watch the whole video...
seems really pull well for hp rating!
Yeah it's them tracks that make the difference
What is the track spacing and the track size?
Merry Xmas
Merry Christmas.
👍👍👍👍
I think that tool in 43.5’ would bring that tractor to its knees once you actually get it sunk into the ground and get aggressive with it.
The vertical tillage tool is built to work on average about 2 inches. The tractors 410 hp and traction from 4 tracks make it a hood match.
.75 hp per cubic inch! diesels used do about .15 hp/c.i.!!!
Hundred fifty grand for the tillage tool? It doesn't even have an engine! The cost of farming is crazy.
The dealer gets 15k set up labor
Modern machines are a big investment.
Subsidy farming is where it's at!
Sad to see such a sophisticated tractor working hard. Put a 4 wheel drive on that implement.
Do the tracks ware out easily?
Typically tracks need to be changed every 3,000 hours. I think they hold up pretty well.
Wait, what?
Moldboard will turn dirt over- how's stalks going to get caught in plow?
That tillage is just knocking down the stocks. And cutting them up
@@matthewtaliaferro4902 I understand that. What I'm confused about is, if plowing dirt under, why do stalks need to b chopped up?
@@henrylopez5252 because it helps break down the residue
@@henrylopez5252 big pieces of stalks don't flip good and will just pile up in front of the plow.
Corn stalks will plug up a plow with ease. Also cutting up the stalks into smaller pieces helps decomposition. Corn stalks are engineered to stand strong all season against pests, fungus and wind. After the harvest the stalk can remain two years or more unbroken in the field.
As far as plugging a plow. Picture pulling a rake across leaves. The rake bunches the leaves until it can’t pull any more. This is what a plow can do in corn stalks quickly. Watch this video I filmed on mowing stalks at the 6:30 minute mark. You will see how fast a plow plugs and the fun of digging it out at ua-cam.com/video/n0Ut_uOmwho/v-deo.html
Why are they desking so shallow?
Just to cut the stalks. This 2660 is on the zero degree setting. The 12 bottom plow you see latter in the video is doing the tillage on this field.
Caden Carlson maybe you should talk to the millennial farmer cause has an 8330 on 27 ft Mandeko an can’t pull it over 7 mph . If you have heavy black dirt and put that thing in the ground it won’t hardly pull it much less up to speed . We have a case ih 380 and pull a 55 ft field cultivator but with compaction in the fall no way . Larson farms are only going to pull 28 ft salford with a 600 quad trac
About what, a million dollars or so to cut up some corn stalks? I get it, but man that's crazy. MERRY CHRISTMAS BTP!
Would be nice to see that 8RX pulling that plow. See how it makes out with it.
That would be neat to see. The 8960 is 370 hp and about the sane weight as the 8RX.
@@bigtractorpower plus it would be a nice mix of state of the arts technology and old school very basic tillage tool.
All that $$$ for that Tractor and No Engine Hood Side-Panels . Come -On Deere
Does your 1925 tractor have side panels tho lol it's an option, which people who can actually afford to buy those don't always get. People on the Internet, I swear...
What? It has a hood and Deere hasn't used side panels in years outside of the 9rx but that was because trash building up on the engine.
8RX new gen 4020
😁👍
What is that doing in acres per hour?
I am not sure. It ran this whole field I was filming in about two hours. It was stopping every two passes to let farmers test drive it. I would say in normal good running conditions it would get quite a few acres an hour done with ease.
Must not be to small it's doing a good job.
It’s a nice tillage team.
They should run the VT After they plow
They should run the VT and park the plow.
That 8RX has more power than the 8960.
It's all about the weight and not the power
The 8RX is a big tractor. It would be neat to see it pull the 12-18 4710 plow. It’s weight and power is right their with the 370 hp 8960.
410 hp wouldn’t begin to pull that if it was in the ground. It’s bearly in the ground and not running 6 mph
dan yoder I thought the same. I wonder what would happen if it was hooked onto the mouldboard that the old JD was pulling?🇦🇺👍
We have a 8370r that could pull that easily. Its just disks. No shanks at all. We pull a 45 ft digger with ours and that works fine. I guarantee a couple of disks isn't gonna slow down the 410 rx
The 8RX can run faster with the 2660VT. There are a couple FS factors here.
1. This was a field demonstration for the 8RX to potential customers. Every two passes a new person was driving the tractor and getting the feel for it.
2. This was the short corn of a big field where several drain cuts ran too so it was bumpy and uneven every so many feet.
3. They were running faster in the wide open. The priority of the day for filming in a limited sun light situation was filming the 8960 and four other big tractors plowing in this field. By the time I got to the 8RX the sun was setting fast and the field was almost done.

Merry Christmas
I'd argue that that tractor is way underpowered for that big of a VT tool. That thing should be pulled faster than that.
It's not a high speed disc. I'm sure he could go faster but he may not want to

Way to big for that tractor

Seems kinda underpowered for that big of a tillage tool
It only seems! That tractor can handle the load from the VT easily and economically. And compacting less than a large 4WD...
So then you can't believe your lying eyes that it's pulling the tillage tool just fine....okay...it's all fake...got it...
410 horsepower
I know someone who was there and said it kinda struggles to pull it. You don’t have to insult me. It’s just an observation
tracks are too expensive for this cash you have fendt 1050
The problem is you would have a fendt
I think the AGCO Fendt/Challenger tractors are the best tractors on the market today for the horse power they offer and the ride they provide. This 8RX is a close second. While it is not 500 hp it design allows it to do allot of work smoothly. I am impressed by the 1000’s and the 8RX.
@@bigtractorpower The Deere bulges to 443hp while the Fendt has no bulge. The Fendts also derate horsepower in hot, heavy draft applications. The highway truck engine in the Fendt is not as impressive in reality as it is on paper. The Fendt transmission also falls on its face when the implement hits the dirt, big time bog down while the Deere won’t skip a beat. Very important to pull heavy loads with these machines to actually see what goes on.
