Werner Ag, established in 1960, is a family farm operation based in rural Hanna, IN. The UA-cam channel and social media pages are run by Keith Werner, the third generation of Werner Ag.
Werner Ag raises Corn, Soybeans, Winter Wheat and Cereal Rye Cover Crop Seed. We have that exact same control arm , screen and the E23 transmission in our 7230R and love it!
both are nice machines. i truly think it would be worth looking into a terra-max. you can go from true vertical tillage to conventional tillage. Glad you shared this opportunity with us!!
I want to check the Terra max out at the farm show and maybe see about getting one to try out alongside our turbo max.
We run a 9420 rx for tillage and grain cart . They perform well in mud and wet conditions. The transmission takes some time to get used too . We run a case 580 quadratic as well but the case has more power but the johndeere has better features like gps . We run narrow tracks on the johndeere and the ride is smooth. Nice video stay safe and farm on my friends !

Will be interesting to see what it looks like in the spring and how well you can plant into it. You should try a 16 row deere high speed planter. We have lots of the high speed deere planters in our area

I have watched that Mike Mitchell that farms in Canada he did a comparison between the quad track and the new Deere. The case will out pull it and out preform it. They are pulling 84’ air seeder with 1350 cart.
I know you had very limited time to play with it but those lights are so easy to customize. You just push the icons on that light page to turn on or off whichever lights you want. I drive a 8400R on a grain cart and I set up a bright and dim field setting on program 1, brightest for filling trucks and dimmer turning off several lights to not blind the combine driver. Program 2 is for roading with most of the rear lights off and front bright and dim settings. You can even program which lights stay on for shut down exit lights.
Awesome machines Keith, wonder if the fuel economy would've been better still if you ran lower revs and up a gear to still achieve 10mph
Gotta use iTec.. makes life super easy. Sets your speed and lowers implement with only hitting one button. And vise versus. Super slick especially for tillage.

Can you help me out here please? So let say: You have harvested maise silage (for cows) and you stil have Corn stocks left in the field. First you drive over them with a heavy roller? After that you use this tillage equipment. And when you finish doing this, you start seeding again?

I think it's good you had the opportunity to compare your tillage equipment with the half worn-out JD VT. Half worn-out is how most people run their equipment, isn't it? It's too expensive to always have new but not worn to the point you're always thinking of replacements. I like the more aggressive settings as they appear to me to incorporate better. That Tru-Set worked well for you, and that's the biggest difference. How do you suppose this VT would be any different on tomato fields? Edit: Great video work, BTW.
On tomato fields they would use a lot more aggressive of a tool to chop vines

the transmissions in those are horrible it has a major delay , cab noise is loud, needs to be field weighted heavier , a lot of steering resistance when you are turning with fully loaded bourgault 71300 air seeder those are the issues Ive found that pet peeves me and we live and work tractors get a full workout
It looks like John Deere is trying to pedal another do nothing disc.
Do you remember about 10 or so years ago all the experts said discs were terrible tools. Now you flatten out the disc and then it's perfectly fine.
I guess I need to do a video on a disc vs a vertical till to explain the differences between the two and what they are used for. A vertical till may look similar to a disc but it is not accomplishing what you would want a disc to accomplish.

You weren’t even running the same gang angle on them so you need to have more angle on the deer it goes all way to 12!
We tried to set the Deere as close to what we run our Great Plains pass for pass on residue disturbance to see what kind of job it does.

Did you happen to ask Matt why Deere went back to putting Cummins engines in the 9RX's? We asked Dave from Holland (Greenmark) and he wasn't sure at the time. Those tractors are a lot nicer on the grain cart!
Boils down to amount of engines sold. Deere won’t sell that many engines this large for it to warrant making there own engine this large.
Tbh Matt didn't stick around. He high tailed it out to go watch the Notre Dame game. I was half disappointed as I wanted to shoot some more footage.
