This channel is an anomaly. Good content trying to be as unbiased and transparent as possible. Please never change
I was just trying to peg which way this video leaned politically, because... what UA-cam channel doesn't favor one side a little more than the other?
The answer is this video, this video doesn't appear to favor either side in any way that I can discern.
@I nut on birds of course, but the way in which the opposing viewpoint is often given a voice on this channel is uncommon
I still don't know if they're owned by CNN or not, BEME was bought by CNN but then shut down so why is this show still happening?
@@havek23 they didn't shut it down, I believe there was a reshuffle and reallocation of funds
"We shouldn't be comparing wounds, we should be helping each other heal." Love that.
“We shouldn’t be comparing wounds-we should be helping each other heal”-Lou Foglia, 2019
I was just having this exact discussion with a group of friends. Very interesting topic.
@Mike Oxlong Seems a bit harsh.
@Mike Oxlong I don't know man. I just watched this because I was interested in the psychology.
All doggos are good doggos.
CheapAssReviews Even snip-snap doggos?
No, anyone who has played the Escapist 2 will know that is not true
Louis Foglia you are a great source of news and give us so much food for thought. Thank you for doing what you do and keep it up. This is the important news we need in a way that we truly understand. Not just headlines!
I'm pleasantly surprised how you try to look at both sides. Thank you, I sometimes don't agree with your view point, but I appreciate your honesty
Pretty insightful Lou. I like that you had the nerve to call out few from both sides.
Your videos are just getting better and more thought provoking! Keep up the good work!
These videos are quality - and criminally under-viewed!
Good video. I agree that the underdog rally is built into the American psychology. Especially in regards to the view of the revolution war and even the civil war.
You can also look at the southerners rally around the confederate flag. People not from the southern states, tend to view the flag as a symbol of racism while, those in the south see the flag representing the underdog, the rebel having to fight against the odds. Again, part of the American psychology.
And everyone is a victim of something and could easily relate to underdogs. This problem is far beyond how politicians display themselves.
This is a human problem that people aren’t able to see the world for what it really is without saying ‘woe is me’ and comparing their victim status
This channel is always looking at things from an aspect that others miss! 👌Great channel
Macron is the perfect example of someone that made himself look like an underdog during the campaign and now... well he won and he's the president of France
Thank you for honestly analyzing a subject and giving the facts!
thank you for putting this vid out
Great piece! Great Script! Great flow! Louis, excellent as usual!
this is SO important. keep up the good work beme. i love watching your videos
Really appreciate this channel’s commitment to apolitical reporting. No bullshit attempts to paint a particular narrative, just interesting discussions 😊
Incredible points made, every video.
One of your best. I really enjoy your videos.
Hey Lou I love ya man, awesome videos, love the way you deliver things keep it up!!!

Very interesting video as always Lou! Keep it up :)
Best video on this channel. Keep up the good work.
“I’m gonna go live my life” is my new favorite goodbye lol
Very well said I like the way you approached this topic. bravo!
So true I think as humans are to quote All the neurolinguistic programming forefathers “We are all one good story away from a bad deed.”
This is an important video good job guys the content on this channel is top notch
That lede is so well written. Lou is a master at his craft. Honestly everyone at BEME does an excellent job!
i find this video more helpful in many areas of life and less clickbait-y (sorry guys) than other BEME news videos. thank you for opening my eyes for a thing i couldn’t really describe although i clearly felt it while watching sports.
Great video- very true! Keep up the great work guys
This was a fantastic video!
Great episode
Very powerful point.
I see a thumbnail of a dog in a suit and I click - seriously keep doin you Lou, love these videos!
Another good episode.
very good points
great video keep it up!!!
you guys are awsome
you should do something about your lack of views
your marketing team must find a way to reach a wider audience
Oh shit, a really good episode.
I'm more afraid of UpDog
well said
When you come from working class then you are an underdog in this system stacked against working people and their families. Underdogs do exist because the system works that way and if you want to actually tackle “the underdogs” in politics then you stop big political donations from corporations and lobbies influence and level the playing field so it’s an actual battle of ideas and not just who stacks more cash from their rich donors.
Well that will probably never happen lol
Informative and timely. This kind of citizen education is very helpful to a society that no longer receives basic civics education in school. Thanks.
thanks lou
good stuff lou
Solid. Solid.
I don't understand how and why this videos doesn't have more views...
This was remarkably unbiased. Thanks!
Holy shit, this was great
Good Job Louis!
i love all dogs
Even Plague dogs?
great video
Oh wow Lou really needed that beard
Lou’s videos look a normal speed played at 150%.
Love Lou.
Very good points and great presentation. The ending about the need to focus on visions rather than past hardships was brilliant.
However, cheering for the underdog is not the whole story. We also like when winners keep winning. It's true both in sports (federer, messi, lebron - all have tones of fans) and in politics (obama's reelection; Clinton's win over Sanders).
This concept seems like it would persist in most every industry and walk of life
Good video 👍🏻
really good video as always though i would argue that politicians mentioning how low their donations are is more about expressing that they dont have those massive 1% donors to be beholden to for their policy like a lot of politicians are- at least thats the message im getting
My dad is.............well, my dad.
IM SO DILUTED WHEN I WANT TO GO ON A SPREE POSTAL ITS DILUTED
I like this
We need a video on 3rd party and independents and what needs to be done to open up competition and end the two party domination!
Also, make the Election Campaigns much shorter. Sick and tired of always being in constant campaign mode! Most major democracies go from start to finish in just a few months. 🇨🇦 election that will take place this fall usually go from start to finish in about 3-4 months. Maybe they is a way that the two topics could blend together as well !
Tanner Wilson independents will never win. Third party is a stupid idea.
HyperNova Both the Republicans and Democrats are extremely corrupt! We need new options and better competition!
Progressives and justice democrats like AOC and Bernie Sanders are already doing this by not taking any corporate sponsorships. Third party shenanigans is just the wrong move, the country is in such a partisan divided place. We should reform the corrupt parties. Independents and alternative parties have never won in history and probably will never win. Progressive movements are having a huge impact
Can you make a video about Xinjiang?
Good dog 🐕
Is the underdog label similar to victim culture
Funny - The first draft of the script had three to four minutes making the connection to victim culture. I even interviewed an expert on victim culture. The basic idea is that we've created this norm - especially on college campuses and on social media - that we have to take every complaint seriously. We have to be respectful of people airing grievances, even if they are absurd. And therefore, if people want to be listened to and taken seriously, they have to learn how to complain effectively. They have to learn to play the victim. And there's a thin line between playing the victim and playing the underdog. Ultimately the section was really clunky and it made the piece too long, so I decided to take it out and stay a little more focused. Hopefully I'll return to it though as a separate piece.
@@LouisFoglia definitely, I've seen it first hand. i'll be looking forward to see that one
One of my favorite recurring bits of these videos is the "Hello My Name Is" drink cooler sleeve. Airbud? HAHAHAHAHA!
I know you're not going to respond to this because you got to keep your job, but Lou, you have the best content coming out of the entire CNN network right now.
Keep it up.
Look like you're wrong - and thanks!
Nixon was the unprivileged, underdog in 1960.
Hey, Lou!
why don't these get more views
Why I feel like he's talking about ocasio cortez
Good points and I'm glad you said this wasn't the only reason he won, especially since Hilary got the popular vote. I don't think he played up the role of underdog as much as Hilary played down the role of being relatable.
Great video. However due to the nature of political campaigns your favorite politician will probably play the underdog card. Because it works. We should be skeptical of everyone however just because your favorite politician is playing that card doesn't mean they're a bad leader.
Yes, let's talk more policy!
I swear to god Lou, you are CGI... too good for us. YOU ARE NOT REAL! Change my mind.
i won't
2:28, I’m sure his mum would prefer if the pause was longer between “full of shit” and “Jason Vandello” 😂
It’s too bad we think with our heart and not with our brains when it comes to politics. I’m concerned with a person who’s stable, well informed with both national and world wide issues, served his or her country, but nowadays that’s a rare option due to an all volunteer military force. I’d rather have someone who’s worked the majority of their life in public service and is not just a business mogul. This country is a not for profit organization, something a businessman can’t understand. They must be able to provide what we need through realistic goals and programs. We need someone who is humble and can admit they don’t know everything and that’s why he or she has a staff of “experts to help make the right decisions. Currently we have none of that, we currently have a broken government who’s being held hostage by an administration who’s narrow focus is on a “wall” that would be paid for by no one else but the tax payers of this country. Doesn’t it make you wonder how those people who have orchestrated a government shutdown are coping with working without a paycheck? I’m being sarcastic, since most of the current administration are millionaires or even billionaires who have no more a connection or concern for the average person in this country.
4:30 How does a rag tag volunteer army in need of a shower, somehow defeat a global superpower
Right, and I want a candidate that's forward-thinking rather than one that is focused on comparing victimhood - be that race, gender, sexual orientation, wealth, or other identity traits.
Already happened in France
grow it back....YES!!
Thanks, but I'm still gonna root for the underdog.
I wanted to ask why this channels name is BEME news ?
I've been literally coming after fake underdogs for years now. Now it's a thing! Faaaantastic
The only underdog I root for is the amazing mets ..
interesting topic. the underdog play is definitely common in politics. you said "anytime a politician is talking about their disadvantages, .. they are not talking about their vision." but wouldn't you agree that a candidates disadvantages and struggles shape their vision? For example, Ocasio, who you brought up, has tweeted how she was working in a bar a year ago, and there have been plenty of stories and talk about her financial struggles when moving to DC, but don't those things means she understands the struggles of who she represents? and that will definitely shape her vision and policy decisions. in my mind a persons past experiences and their vision shouldn't be separated because they go hand in hand. my two cents. good video
Do you believe that they must be equally weighed?
This explains exactly why we sympathize with victim narratives and cross sectionalism in the states.
what the heck is in that fish tank?
At least Underdogs aren't as bad as Updogs
Entirely agree with this video. But the public is too stupid and only understand the high school level social politics and care far less about solid political stances
Great balance video again non baby face Lou
is it beme or *_supreme 0_o_*
Bernie wasn't trying to portray himself as an underdog. He was showing that his support comes from people and not giant corporate donors.
#Lou2020
Solving problems.. Is that a even a thing in American politics ? :')
Okay, i'm gonna live my life as well.
