What happened To hopsin?
Hops in what?
@@spikethrowaway the rapper
Just had a feature on Tech N9nes' new album. He's just off socials.
@diwabitchoka9375 Yea, what he hops in?
B.o.B is more arguably successful than Lupe Fiasco.
He was arguably a bigger rapper than Eminem for a hot minute. He could've been where Drake is now. Bro fucked his own bag up.
@@dexenationgracey1979 My point is he still has 15 million Spotify listeners. That's more than many Atlanta legends (T.I., Ludacris, Soulja Boy, etc). He's a flat-earther, he was never gonna be where Drake is at.
@@ClydeCyrus I was adding to your point about B.o.B being more successful than Lupe. Lupe was never B.o.B level in terms of commercial success.
Hell nah Duke shouldn’t be bigger than Glorilla her music is better and she can spit but that doesn’t mean Duke shouldn’t be more popping.
I think the timing they mentioned was spot on when it comes to Glo. She came in the game when the market was really buzzing for women rappers and she’s been able to stick because she can make hits plus her personality is a huge selling point. Plus as a woman she has less competition to a degree because she can appeal to a specific part of the genre and still be big. Duke has a lot more bigger artist to compete with especially with younger male artist popping up every other couple of months.
This is my favorite hiphop podcast/show, but this episode was kinda lazy. Most of these artists went independent and cater to their niche following(like the majority of artists today). The entire industry has changed, and there are only a handful who are going to receive a major push from labels.
Have been seeing a ton of chatter on twitter that Krit has a better catalogue than Cole
I can make the argument
@@brandonj.harris krit wuz here, return of 4eva, 4eva n a day, better this way, the double disc, king remembered in time. live from underground was meh…
WHAT'S CHINGY UP TO?!?!?!?!?1
Got his career ruined by a transwoman. Sydney Star ruined his career back in the 2000s. Made a rumor about him with her and his career was history.
@@smoothsavage2870 damn…cold blooded.
@@smoothsavage2870you think he had staying power otherwise? He fits the exact mold of a one hit wonder back then.
@@Smoquan Yea, but the thing was, he wasnt a one hit wonder back then lol. He had staying power. He might not have gotten success outside of the 2000s or may have had some small success in the 2010s (similar to Ludacris), but he'd have been around. You have to remember that back then social media wasnt in full swing yet.
@@smoothsavage2870 I remember. I just don't see what separates him from every other artist of that time making easily digestible tracks with R&B hooks. If Nelly isn't making it out after that time was over for the moment, neither is Chingy lol. Once Snap came, it did just that, Thanos snapped a lot of other rappers out of existence lol. Just to then be snapped out of existence even harder themselves. Chingy got in his hit or 2 right before their time was up either way. I don't see him surviving any shift.
Aftermath is the greatest Hip Hop label in history, but it is responsible for a lot of "what if"s?" aswel! What happend to names like Hittman, Stat Quo, G.A.G.E., Bishop Lamont, Hayes, Slim the Mobster, Jon Connor and Justus?
Wheres riff raff ritz and yelawolf?
what happened to Jack Harlow?
Am I the only one that isn't a fan of that little prelude/watchbait being cut for the intro? I just wanna the convos straight through y'know 😁
Yeah I never understood why UA-camrs do the preview bits. I already clicked on the video you know I'm gonna watch haha.
Why are we still talking about the radio in 2024?
Tbh radio is basically just playlisting. They old give em A break they haven’t updated the lingo 😂😂
Y’all don’t think radio is a major factor to an artist success? If you don’t believe that then you’re out of touch. Radio isn’t necessary to be successful but the most successful artist hit radio.
@@feefo247 a top 10 artist need a radio hit to compete for those billboard and rolling stone lists. Someone like Scarface has one to two radio hits but can still make some lists. Just cuz Denzel and Krit are not radio darlings, however I feel their sound doesn't fit modern radio but their longevity and able to put on incredible shows give them long term success that others cannot replicate. You chase after the radio and you get no Benny the butcher on any DEHH mid year lists.
