What I love about Aman is that even when the learner makes a dangerous mistake and she has to fix it she still asks there learner if they’re okay and that’s so important

I’ve had my test on Monday. Before the test, I did hit the curb , my instructor had to stop me on the T junction and completely messed up parallel park ( which I usually do spot on) . I was a complete mess ! I was lucky to have a lovely examiner who helped me to relax and show my real driving ability . Passed with 3 minors first time ;) Guys , never give up ! ☺️x
Good luck, make sure you vocalise everything you do and see. “Mirror mirror signal” “new road, new mirrors” “is this person crossing” etc. I passed in September and I did this the entire time
I'm amazed with how calm you can stay through some of these near-misses - like with that fault on the roundabout, you just pulled the wheel as much as you needed to and then asked if she was OK. It was mostly my dad who taught me to drive, and he did his best, but he understandably got pretty nervous and frustrated whenever I'd mess up. It's an enviable skill!

Excellent news about your test. Congratulations! Remember please, if your friends tell you that one drink is OK, it isn't! And you'll see those idiots who break all the rules you've learnt an awful lot more now you're an independent driver. Just ignore them and remember everything you've been taught. I just got to 50 years since I passed my test. Not one single point ever on my licence and I feel almost as proud as you!
Thanks for all the videos. I've been binge watching the mock tests so I'd know what to expect on mine. I passed first time with zero faults. Got my first car recently, and my first drive was getting it home. In the dark, along the M25 and M3. On my own. Not a recommended first drive after passing, I'm sure, but I got it home safely.

I nearly ran a crossing on my lesson the day before when someone was standing there I passed first time the day after Nerves just got the better of me but my examiner was so lovely and put me at ease ❤
So I'm an American and have been watching a lot of your videos because tbh it's fascinating seeing how much different driving in the UK is compared to here. The amount of rules, regulations, and even differences in road sizes is insane. To be perfectly honest with you I don't think I could drive in the UK. Seeing the amount of tight roads and roundabouts you all have to deal with is astonishing to me. Here in the city I live in (Las Vegas, Nevada) a roundabout is a truly rare thing mainly seen in smaller neighborhoods.
I’m the opposite, I’ve been driving in the UK for 10 years and just recently had the opportunity to drive in the US from Vegas to LA and it was an amazing experience.

Camille, should be proactive when driving, dealing with hazard, that would help her with. She is a good driver and help to eliminate those silly mistake.
When the teacher says she didn't past the test, the student got surprised. Many students (all actually) don't know what the faults are and what their weight is and that is quite a problem. I don't know why none tells them because that would help a lot. However, the teacher do it the best way, making the stundent calm and teaching her what was wrong and could be fixed.
You learn the faults when you are getting lessons. For example, if this was a lesson video then Aman would be explaining what is going wrong at the time, or when it is safe to do so. As this is a mock test however, test rules apply and she cannot help in any way (unless forced to if not doing so would cause an accident). I'm sure they discuss faults again at the end, just not on camera.
@@Yattien89 I refer mostly to the relations fault - type of fault. It will be incredibly usefull to know it to put higher attention on more serious faults. I know this is a mock test. I didn't say Aman did not do that (plus i saw her explain it in the end), i'm talking about my experience. And again, i'm referring to fault - type of fault, not just the faults themselves. You can tell me 10 faults but i can doubt if they are minor or serious, that's kind of the key. UA-cam helpmed me a lot to identify a lot of them (Spain). Examiners in Spain have a paper sheet (actually a collection of paper sheets) where faults are greately categorized. If students know that categorization before testing themselves, they would be quite more ready.

Well, I hope she passes her test. The only thing that might set her back is nerves but the best thing to do is get used to driving whilst feeling nervous and don't lose control.
I think this young lady has the ability to become a really good driver. She was switched on a number of times to tricky situations. In a year's time, perhaps she might consider doing Pass Plus.
Got my driving test tomorrow morning, had 4 mock tests over the past 3 days and failed every single one with 2-3 major faults and 4-5 minor faults. Binge watching your videos for confidence and idk, just fingers crossed I pass 😭😭
Why is 8:20 a serious? She isn't turning into the road and is moving slowly and is also in the position of the cars parked on that side of the road so the oncoming car has space. When things like this get counted as a serious it really confuses me as I don't understand why
Just passed my test today. 4th time! There’s hope for all of us 😂. Also, totally thought I had failed within the first 5 minutes but just kept trying my best and concentrating . So glad I did! Also, I definitely found some examiners to be more forgiving than others. So keep on trying people! (Still Buzzing) 😊
Finally a comment about failing. I felt like I was the only person in this comment section who hadn't passed. I've got another test tomorrow, so hopefully this will be the one, but I feel like I'll probably mess up on something stupid again 🤣🤣
Test in 20 days. I’ll be back to say if I passed. If I don’t say anything, assume I did a major & decided that the only option was to perform an emergency break using the nearest brick wall 😀
i really wish they would teach us emergency stops in the US. i didn’t even know they were a thing until i saw your videos and i just got my license a little over a month ago😧
Well, I think it would only really be important to teach if someone was using a manual car, because of the clutch and brake. If you do it wrong, you would end up coasting and not stop fast enough. With an automatic, you just slam of the brake.
@@lopachilla that’s true, fair point! i still think it would be helpful to teach emergency stops on automatic cars though, for extra precautions and such, especially because some new drivers might not know what to do in a situation where they should emergency stop and freeze up. i’m 17 and im a nervous driver so i avidly like to know any type of emergency maneuvers lol
Why was SO11 VOV driving with the hazard lights on? It is illegal to drive with hazard lights on (because like in this situation it makes no sense at all). The only exception is on a motorway when you are braking on your way to a sudden total pile up and wish to indicate danger to the rear high speed vehicles who can't see what is coming their way.
It was being towed. Besides, as far as I am aware you can put your hazards on to warn other road users of an obstruction up ahead. I don't think this applies only on motorways.
@@Jac70 As someone who has had to tow and be towed by vehicles within my own family and friends, it is still illegal. It makes sense. The towee (has to be a legal driver) should indicate exactly where the tower is taking them. That is what indicators are for. Simply flashing hazards doesn't help anyone. It took some time to get this in my brothers head. Besides, it is actually not just a "should" it is a "MUST NOT" to drive with hazards in the Highway Code which makes it a criminal offence. As an aside I highly recommend using PMR446 radios between the driver and tow - these are totally exempt from all the Cycling Mikey mobile phone laws and make the job MUCH easier and safer.
@@Jac70 I dug it out: Rule 116 Hazard warning lights. These may be used when your vehicle is stationary, to warn that it is temporarily obstructing traffic. Never use them as an excuse for dangerous or illegal parking. You MUST NOT use hazard warning lights while driving or being towed unless you are on a motorway or unrestricted dual carriageway and you need to warn drivers behind you of a hazard or obstruction ahead. Only use them for long enough to ensure that your warning has been observed. Law RVLR reg 27
At 11:20, the positioning looks wrong, shouldn't she be positioned to the left as its a straight over? I don't get the problem with emergency stops, just slam your foot down fast and hard on the brake, you won't break it (even though its called a brake), my instructor says do it vicious and dirty.
Her road positioning was ok for taking the second exit on the roundabout. Regarding braking - the goal is controlled braking. Remember, braking doesn't just happen in nice dry conditions. If you blindly slam on the brakes when the road is wet or icey then the car will skid and it will not be under control. When I took my driving test my car did not have anti-lock brakes so I had to pump my brakes on-off-on-off-on in quick succession to prevent lockups. This was the only way to achieve controlled braking in the shortest distance on a damp road surface.
@@htbwhite7721 For the positioning that's not how I was taught, I know there aren't 2 or 3 lanes to enter this roundabout but for a left or straight over you wanna start off on the left and follow it round on the left, and for a right you start on the right and follow it round on the right. Cause think about it, if you want a straight over and you position on the right, you are more likely to straight-line it across which is a fail on the test (at least on some roundabouts). Perhaps this roundabout didn't really have the space for 2 cars side by side so it didn't really matter too much, but I think good positioning is still a good habit to get into regardless. I know an emergency stop is also called a controlled stop, but assuming ABS is present then there's nothing to control here, you just slam the brakes on. Perhaps it used to be called a controlled stop when cars didn't have ABS and had to pump the brake like you said. My point was, how do people screw this up, its not rocket science, just slam your foot down, lol.
how many minor / serious faults you can have to pass the test there in the UK? Here in spain we have 3 levels. The highest one, makes you fail right away. The second level, if you have two of these, you failed too. If you have one of the 2nd and 5 of the 3rd level you failed too. And last but not least, with 10 of the 3rd level, you failed too.
@@tutorialesnet if you get one serious or dangerous fault, it's an immediate fail. You're allowed up to 15 minors. After that it's a fail. Repeating the same fault several times can lead to a fail too. Hope this helps.
You can have up to 15 minor faults. If you get 1 serious fault then you fail. Serious and dangerous do ultimately fall into the same category, but an examiner could terminate your test if they deem your driving too dangerous to continue.@@tutorialesnet
I sat 3 tests in 2016 in a manual car and gave up after the 3rd fail, I've got a test in an automatic now in Jan and regret giving up all those years ago so much! Just keep at it don't give up :) Aman's videos are the reason I ended up plucking up the courage to try again!
No hate but if she’s got her test in two days, why hasn’t she done an emergency stop in lessons in recent weeks and why isn’t she planning ahead with lane movements etc.
@@Jac70 I get that but also if you're an instructor surely you'd ask first. If she's doing the test in the instructors car, you would show her all the in car controls for her test and ask her if she's ever done all her manoveures and check them all? That way she's not going to do her test and be met with any surprises

In France you have to wait for at least 2 days before knowing the results of your driving test since 2015 😅 apparently that's for security reasons (people getting angry and violent if they haven't passed)
A genuine question, i passed my test a month ago first try with 45 hours of driving , i regulary drive the past 2 weeks for now so i did get about 10 hours in my car which is very different from the one that i learned driving on , is it normal that i still can't use the clutch in the new car as well as i could in the car that i passed my exam in? Shifting goes very well already but the clutch is still hard to get used to, both car is petrol , i don't stall just use more gas in 1st gear than i should (usually rev around 2-2.5k)
Seems like she doesn't know what counts as a fault going by her saying she almost thought she passed. Like if the instructor goes to grab your wheel even once even if they dont touch it then it's a fail no matter how perfect the rest was, and that happened twice. Never doing an emergency stop is weird but it's the easiest one to learn and test within literally 2 minutes, just slam on the brake and clutch, thats it. I feel like she should watch some videos like this before her test because it seems like she never has. But since the test was in 2 days time it has likely happened by now. Hopefully she did ok!
I passed my test 6 weeks ago, my licence didn't turn up within first 3 weeks, I emailed DVLA, they sent another, 3 more weeks passed - still no licence. I talked DVLA again yesterday - they have no record of me on the system. I swear I hate DVLA

Yeah you should stop, It in this case they were passing very wide and there’s no other parked cars around us So it wasn’t an issue to keep reversing slowly

The driving exam in the US is way less detailed then the UK exam. I’m watching this and wondering to myself why my instructor didn’t teach correct emergency stops (like how the instructor in this video did a mock emergency stop) or learning the controls in the car (like the windshield wipers) we only went over parallel parking, u -turns, correct signaling, keeping at a good speed and understanding road signs (like yielding and stop signs). Why aren’t the US tests more thorough and detailed?? I had to learn everything else on my own up to this point and that scares me because in the US people at the age of 16 get their permit and then take their driving test and it’s so young and at that age you can make soooo many life threatening mistakes if you don’t have the proper training. I’m questioning everything about how the US teaches people how to drive, a lot of people who have their license really shouldn’t have gotten them lmaooo 😂

Why is 8:20 a serious? She isn't turning into the road and is moving slowly and is also in the position of the cars parked on that side of the road so the oncoming car has space. When things like this get counted as a serious it really confuses me as I don't understand why

Just passed my test today. 4th time! There’s hope for all of us 😂. Also, totally thought I had failed within the first 5 minutes but just kept trying my best and concentrating . So glad I did! Also, I definitely found some examiners to be more forgiving than others. So keep on trying people! (Still Buzzing) 😊

i really wish they would teach us emergency stops in the US. i didn’t even know they were a thing until i saw your videos and i just got my license a little over a month ago😧
Well, I think it would only really be important to teach if someone was using a manual car, because of the clutch and brake. If you do it wrong, you would end up coasting and not stop fast enough. With an automatic, you just slam of the brake.
@@lopachilla that’s true, fair point! i still think it would be helpful to teach emergency stops on automatic cars though, for extra precautions and such, especially because some new drivers might not know what to do in a situation where they should emergency stop and freeze up. i’m 17 and im a nervous driver so i avidly like to know any type of emergency maneuvers lol

Why was SO11 VOV driving with the hazard lights on? It is illegal to drive with hazard lights on (because like in this situation it makes no sense at all).
The only exception is on a motorway when you are braking on your way to a sudden total pile up and wish to indicate danger to the rear high speed vehicles who can't see what is coming their way.
It was being towed.
Besides, as far as I am aware you can put your hazards on to warn other road users of an obstruction up ahead. I don't think this applies only on motorways.
@@Jac70 As someone who has had to tow and be towed by vehicles within my own family and friends, it is still illegal. It makes sense. The towee (has to be a legal driver) should indicate exactly where the tower is taking them. That is what indicators are for. Simply flashing hazards doesn't help anyone. It took some time to get this in my brothers head. Besides, it is actually not just a "should" it is a "MUST NOT" to drive with hazards in the Highway Code which makes it a criminal offence.
As an aside I highly recommend using PMR446 radios between the driver and tow - these are totally exempt from all the Cycling Mikey mobile phone laws and make the job MUCH easier and safer.

At 11:20, the positioning looks wrong, shouldn't she be positioned to the left as its a straight over?
I don't get the problem with emergency stops, just slam your foot down fast and hard on the brake, you won't break it (even though its called a brake), my instructor says do it vicious and dirty.
Her road positioning was ok for taking the second exit on the roundabout.
Regarding braking - the goal is controlled braking. Remember, braking doesn't just happen in nice dry conditions. If you blindly slam on the brakes when the road is wet or icey then the car will skid and it will not be under control.
When I took my driving test my car did not have anti-lock brakes so I had to pump my brakes on-off-on-off-on in quick succession to prevent lockups. This was the only way to achieve controlled braking in the shortest distance on a damp road surface.
@@htbwhite7721 For the positioning that's not how I was taught, I know there aren't 2 or 3 lanes to enter this roundabout but for a left or straight over you wanna start off on the left and follow it round on the left, and for a right you start on the right and follow it round on the right.
Cause think about it, if you want a straight over and you position on the right, you are more likely to straight-line it across which is a fail on the test (at least on some roundabouts).
Perhaps this roundabout didn't really have the space for 2 cars side by side so it didn't really matter too much, but I think good positioning is still a good habit to get into regardless.
I know an emergency stop is also called a controlled stop, but assuming ABS is present then there's nothing to control here, you just slam the brakes on.
Perhaps it used to be called a controlled stop when cars didn't have ABS and had to pump the brake like you said.

how many minor / serious faults you can have to pass the test there in the UK? Here in spain we have 3 levels. The highest one, makes you fail right away. The second level, if you have two of these, you failed too. If you have one of the 2nd and 5 of the 3rd level you failed too. And last but not least, with 10 of the 3rd level, you failed too.
I answer myself, I already saw you had 3 levels too: minor, serious, dangeours.

You're allowed up to 15 minors. After that it's a fail.
Repeating the same fault several times can lead to a fail too.

I sat 3 tests in 2016 in a manual car and gave up after the 3rd fail, I've got a test in an automatic now in Jan and regret giving up all those years ago so much! Just keep at it don't give up :) Aman's videos are the reason I ended up plucking up the courage to try again!

No hate but if she’s got her test in two days, why hasn’t she done an emergency stop in lessons in recent weeks and why isn’t she planning ahead with lane movements etc.
She's done nearly all her learning with family, not an instructor.

If she's doing the test in the instructors car, you would show her all the in car controls for her test and ask her if she's ever done all her manoveures and check them all? That way she's not going to do her test and be met with any surprises

In France you have to wait for at least 2 days before knowing the results of your driving test since 2015 😅 apparently that's for security reasons (people getting angry and violent if they haven't passed)

A genuine question, i passed my test a month ago first try with 45 hours of driving , i regulary drive the past 2 weeks for now so i did get about 10 hours in my car which is very different from the one that i learned driving on , is it normal that i still can't use the clutch in the new car as well as i could in the car that i passed my exam in? Shifting goes very well already but the clutch is still hard to get used to, both car is petrol , i don't stall just use more gas in 1st gear than i should (usually rev around 2-2.5k)
I did my first emergency stop n went skidding 😮 roads were wet but he said i did it too hard 😅

Seems like she doesn't know what counts as a fault going by her saying she almost thought she passed. Like if the instructor goes to grab your wheel even once even if they dont touch it then it's a fail no matter how perfect the rest was, and that happened twice. Never doing an emergency stop is weird but it's the easiest one to learn and test within literally 2 minutes, just slam on the brake and clutch, thats it. I feel like she should watch some videos like this before her test because it seems like she never has. But since the test was in 2 days time it has likely happened by now. Hopefully she did ok!

I passed my test 6 weeks ago, my licence didn't turn up within first 3 weeks, I emailed DVLA, they sent another, 3 more weeks passed - still no licence. I talked DVLA again yesterday - they have no record of me on the system. I swear I hate DVLA

Yeah you should stop, It in this case they were passing very wide and there’s no other parked cars around us

They only need to cross your side. A crossing with an island is considered two seperate crossings.

at the end of the test, she is told to park up on the left, surly this is too close to the junction, for what the highway code advises, is this a instructor mistake.
The driving exam in the US is way less detailed then the UK exam. I’m watching this and wondering to myself why my instructor didn’t teach correct emergency stops (like how the instructor in this video did a mock emergency stop) or learning the controls in the car (like the windshield wipers) we only went over parallel parking, u -turns, correct signaling, keeping at a good speed and understanding road signs (like yielding and stop signs). Why aren’t the US tests more thorough and detailed?? I had to learn everything else on my own up to this point and that scares me because in the US people at the age of 16 get their permit and then take their driving test and it’s so young and at that age you can make soooo many life threatening mistakes if you don’t have the proper training. I’m questioning everything about how the US teaches people how to drive, a lot of people who have their license really shouldn’t have gotten them lmaooo 😂
