That rubber pice in the block is called a coolant separator, and you need it in there so dont forget! Or the coolant temp wont reach operating temp

@@empaige89 yes you need it I’ve seen people forget to put one in after replacing short block and the head will have to come back off

you know you can put the head studs after you put the head on the block, just make sure you have the dowel pins in first. Less chance of scratching the head machined surface or have shavings falling between the head gasket and the head

They should make 8 carbon fiber redirect flow things in between the rest of the Pistons for an open deck block. Put one at Each corner and Center cylinders to help keep the deck steady under heavy loads. Make them with compound so they get harder with heat. Holding your sleeves solid as posibly.

Did you open up your headlights and put blue led strips in? I have those SpecD headlights, and I was thinking of trying to retrofit rgb led strips for the halos and running light strip

using the 88mm head gasket... what is your exact cylinder bore? is it still 87mm or 87.5?

Extension doesn’t affect torque wrench as long as it’s straight. You can put a 2’ or 20’ and it should still torque whatever ftlbs as long as it’s accurate.

If you have the stock 11:1 or higher compression pistons, I'd get a thicker head gasket (compared to oem) to lower the effective compression ratio

So I have a 2007 civic si and been looking to do this build. If all i wanted was to just swap my bottom for a k24, is everything you did in this video sufficient enough for that? As in I should start my swap with this video and onward? (im not looking to rebuild the bottom or head as of now)

the cometic head gasket seals very well, it doesnt need copper spray. And honestly ive never used that spray on any head gasket. I dont really believe in that.
