I’m a retired airline Captain, now 77. i was a flight instructor at Embry Riddle so many years ago. I enjoyed your video. I sure miss flying. I had a beautiful Twin Comanche. Happy trails.
PA-30 best light twin ever made. Owned one and ferried a dozen out of Lock Haven building time in my youth. Met William Piper, Sr and years latter worked along side his son, Pug Piper, at Beech of all places. 77 as well.
Hey Mindy! Cool belt. Flight plan is pretty easy…it’s direct! Doesn’t get any better than that. WHOA…a B-52! I have to say, that’s the busiest CTAF and uncontrolled airport AND there’s skydivers, WHAT!!! Oh my gosh, what a doozie! A doozie for real and you handled it like the professional you are. Enjoy your recurrent training and thanks for taking me along 🤗
Very neat! I pretty much grew up in Las Cruces, NM and my dad worked as an engineer at White Sands Missile Range. One of his best friends was a former A-4 Navy pilot who was also an engineer at WSMR. When I was seventeen he took me flying a few times in his 182. In fact, he took my dad and I on a fly in deer hunting trip on an isolated ranch in the Gila National Forest. It was one of the best experiences I ever had to that point and as a result I became interested in getting my pilot’s license. I started down the path to that end but life stuff happened. Thank you for the ride along since it keeps the fun alive. 🤠
I appreciate watching your channel Mindy, but watching these videos to me are always sort of frustrating and depressing knowing the costs of these high tech GA aircraft are priced out for the average American to fly--much less, own! I am a retired firefighter/paramedic/registered nurse and can't ever dream of being an owner of a GA (new or used) airplane! But hats off to you guys that have figured out a way in life to enjoy what only a handfull will ever be able to afford! Nothing personal!!!
We need tort liability reform in everything. Not just GA, everything. Less regulation, less risk aversion, more experimentation and innovation. There would be losers in that agreement and they will fight tooth and nail to maintain their rent seeking revenue.
Love this. No BS, just the flying. I don't understand how people can be looking at airspeed on takeoff, or landing with a tailwind, but that's taildragging for you.
Not sure if you noticed, but as you got close to DED, there was a bombing range off of your right wing. When the zone is “cold”, we fly over it. It’s creepy and apocalyptic. It has a mock airport, planes and a little village. Love your videos and your airmanship. I learn from you each video.
DeLand has always been insane. When I was at Riddle (93-97) we used DeLand, Ormond Beach, Flagler and New Smyrna as our primary training airports. I always preferred New Smyrna because Ormond could be just as crazy. I did my solo at Ormond so it has a special place in my heart. Great video though!
When you said Deland as your destination all I could think was ‘ohhh boy that’s a busy uncontrolled sometimes bordering on chaotic, airport.’ Did many many skydives there. Love your videos!! I’m gonna use that line when ATC says ‘say’…. I’m just gonna repeat what they say. ‘Roger say altitude’… ‘altitude’ 😂😂
I do fly my virtual (DA62)) simulator plane often to KSHV (ILS 14/RNAV 32)! My sister lives about 20 miles west of Shreveport, La, in Marshall, TX (KASL)! Too, my father and grandparents are from Shreveport, La. So I fly all over the southeast (Houston where I live) to northeast Texas and northwestern Louisiana!
In the description is shows that the plane is a 182T. I know that the engine is a normalized engine. So, you said it was not a turbo engine. really like the Cessna 182T's. Your videos are some of the best. Thank you for posting.
I used to live in DeLand! I used to work for Relative Workshop inspecting parachute materials and components. Did some jumping from Skydive DeLand. Any small aircraft you see with 3 stripes on the wings belongs to Emory Riddle Aeronautical University. Lot's of student pilots around there!
Love this video, as I love all your 182 videos. Yeah, my favorite private airplane. If I could, I’d have one. Awesome flyover at Barksdale AFB, and the B-52H at the end of the runway, and others in the ramp. My father was in the USAF… SAC (Strategic Air Command) during the Cold War and I grew up around those bombers… my all time favorite aircraft. So this video was an extra special viewing pleasure for me. Thank you for the treat Mindy. Blessings, good health, success & prosperity.
Well done Mindy. Ignore the haters. I loved the whole thing and except not seeing you pull the tow bar off. I was so nervous when you fired up. I remove it any time I walk away more than 2 ft. My friend hit his tow bar in a bonanza last week.
I love the comment about the videos and distractions! I was just thinking that when you secured it behind you. She's got her priorities straight. Great pilot! Got a sub too 🎉
Fun to watch your departure from Shreveport Downtown. My first solo flight was on the same runway you departed, except opposite direction. Many years ago, some things still looked the same and many things different. Safe travels to you!
Great video. I have lots of respect for you pulling the 182 out by yourself. I have an O2 concentrator that I use in flight. I’m on O2 on any long flights above 8000. It makes a huge difference. Following your channel.
That was Barksdale AFB where you saw the B-52. Orders to there are the reason I decided to retire from the Air Force! Nice base, but the surrounding area was a little dodgy… Just found your videos and I’m impressed! Will definitely sub! One thing you could do for all of us loser Sim pilots is to post your flight plan so we could fly along...
For many years, I lived at about 9,000 or higher. For me, I feel much better at high altitudes, but she is correct. Extended cruise at high altitudes can bring on serious adverse reactions beyond fatigue
Cpt. Mindy you're one of the first pilot I 've been following. Its a real pleasure watching your videos. I learn something new every time you do your flights. I get to see some parts of the US...from the air that is. One observation, what kind of airfield is that where planes and skydivers share the same space simultaneously? All the best in your exams. Always, safe flights and cheesy landings
Learned how to fly @DTN after i purchased my A36 great airfield! There is a diner and a cool full flight sim in the FBO the history of DTN is fascinating
Hello Mindy, I'm experimenting a bit with video recording myself and I recognize how distracting this can be, so thanks for pointing it out: Aviate, Navigate, Communicate, Youtubate!
I also enjoy filming some of my flights, using multiple cameras and Final Cut Pro. When filming in 4K the battery only lasts about 1 hour - so i use a GoPro remote that can start all 3 of them and stop them when I want regardless of where they are.
I did my first solo at Deland with a few planes in pattern and a busy day of sky divers. I had to keep telling myself to focus on the landing and not the jumpers coming in, all in all it went pretty well, probably lost a couple pounds from sweating though.
Omg so funny at 1:29 when the hangar door opens to reveal some random fire smoke in the background…like, alright lets have a fun flight, door opens, 🔥 already a crashed plane🔥
Do you keep an Oxygen finger sensor on high flights like that? Love the content. Very thorough and your knowledge and familiarity of whatever aircraft you fly is inspiring.
Holy Moly girl, you got some serious stones on that left hand lol. Hang on to that dude for shore. Great flight. Gorgeous airplane. Thanks for sharing.
Out of all the UA-cam pilot videos I’ve watched I like watching your channel. How long have you been flying Plus you got the coolest job. I’d fly to the moon with you
Great enjoyable video. One comment. I hope you and your hangar mate never regret leaving the tow bar attached to the a/c while parked. Such a simple thing might “bite” in the future.
They have so many sky diving quiet old WW2 airports around Melbourne Florida where they sky dive and don't bother plane traffic at the bigger airports.
I would say at some point I would invest in an Oxygen sensor you may find that everyone is definitely different. Thanks so much for sharing your experience. 😊
Safety and flying >> cameras for sure! Think it is good you mention it cause not sure everyone does it that way! And yeah, skydivers close to runways... doesn't make sense.
Mindy did you get to see any B-52's doing the pattern at Barksdale? Usually on the southbound departures they send you right over the Airforce base. You get a GREAT view of the HUGE B-52's
Watch the CG. That black bag might be better in the back seat. Your camera comments are spot on. That poor young lady that crashed 6 months ago. She had like five cameras in her airplane. The day she crashed with her dad in the right seat, playing around with her autopilot. The NTSB is going to have all the video they could ever ask for, all the way into the ground at over 200 knots. Fly first, everything else is second, or irrelevant.
I’m a retired airline Captain, now 77. i was a flight instructor at Embry Riddle so many years ago. I enjoyed your video. I sure miss flying. I had a beautiful Twin Comanche. Happy trails.

Perfect attitude about not worrying about camera setups when flying! Flying comes FIRST, while cameras are secondary. Lives can depend on that!
thanks...she did say that....but, thanks for the echo....lol
Enjoyed the video so much. Thank you for not killing it with terrible music, wonderful to hear the chatting on the radio.
Hey Mindy! Cool belt. Flight plan is pretty easy…it’s direct! Doesn’t get any better than that. WHOA…a B-52! KTHX for taking me along! Great flight Prostyle!🤓😎🛩
Thanks for sharing. I appreciate the commentary about not sweating the small stuff (cameras) and concentrate on FLYING. Well done!
I appreciate watching your channel Mindy, but watching these videos to me are always sort of frustrating and depressing knowing the costs of these high tech GA aircraft are priced out for the average American to fly--much less, own! Flying clubs are a great place for the average pilot to get access to airplanes.
Fractional ownership is an option
Light sport or ultralights are a more economical way to go. Still expensive, but it’s all relative.
Don't forget about the 12 letter cheat code.
We need tort liability reform in everything. Not just GA, everything. Less regulation, less risk aversion, more experimentation and innovation.
There would be losers in that agreement and they will fight tooth and nail to maintain their rent seeking revenue.

Good catch. That's right in Ocala Nat Forest. I've ridden dirt bikes around the perimeter of that area.
Great looking 182. New owner must be very happy.
...and financially solvent.
Love to fly with you. You enjoy flying planes for all of us! Nice 182, by the way! You’re awesome!

Great flight Capt. Mindy! I’m with you, way too many people in the air. Thanks for taking me along 🤗
Congratulations to new owner. 🎉 You guys are badass🫡
Loved the B-52 shot - landed there during Navy T-28 student flight training in a formation cross country - great memory revisit - thanks

The turbo version would be a T182T. The normally aspirated version is just a 182T.
You Mindy the pilot is gorgeous and the plane is absolutely beautiful! 😊😊😊😊

WOW, that does seem crazy to land with the skydivers coming in like that. Great video, looking forward to more 😀
Well done Mindy. Ignore the haters. I loved the whole thing and except not seeing you pull the tow bar off. I was so nervous when you fired up. I remove it any time I walk away more than 2 ft. My friend hit his tow bar in a bonanza last week.
learned to fly at Shreveport Downtown back in late 60's Made many trips past Barksdale AFB
I love the comment about the videos and distractions! I was just thinking that when you secured it behind you. She's got her priorities straight. Great pilot! Got a sub too 🎉

Congratulations to Sean that is a beautiful 182. Hope to see you at Oshkosh next month!
Appreciate you sharing your moment with us
great flight Capt.Mindy ....thank you! love your videos....
Wow, somebody took good care of their Cessna. Dad was stationed at Barksdale, B-52D Nav, lots of memories there!
Great flight Mindy. You look so pretty. I hope you got a safe flight home. I'm not a huge fan of Redbull drinks all that caffeine in me
So much for not being creepy
I like the part at 12:00 where you do a barrel roll while still on the ground!
That was Barksdale AFB where you saw the B-52. Orders to there are the reason I decided to retire from the Air Force! Nice base, but the surrounding area was a little dodgy…

Nice delivery video the skydivers added more drama lol 😂
So happy to see a long form video from you again. It's been a minute. Keep them coming.
That landing was like whipped butter!! Very nice, and smooth….

Thanks Mindy had so much fun watching you fly. Have an amazing week.
Yes flying into Deland is never the same and usually a hassle nice job.
Omg so funny at 1:29 when the hangar door opens to reveal some random fire smoke in the background…like, alright lets have a fun flight, door opens, 🔥 already a crashed plane🔥

Spoken like a true gold digger.
@@bannoneldridge9269 it's her husband. No gold digging involved and I'm a 78 year old man so gold digging ain't in my thoughts.
Thanks for the overhead shots of my old B-52's!
I loved my 2006 T182T like a favorite child. Wonderful airplane.
At 23:25 ("...say on-course heading"), her reply was "SAME on-course heading".
That's it mate she said "Same" not say, i didn't catch it at first either 😂. Sharp ear!!!
I took my first training flight at the Deland airport back in 1975. Lived in De Leon Springs i was 18.
OK, so how do you 'hang on' for >4 hrs like that Schmiindy? I even saw water bottles. If you get my meaning.
Out of all the UA-cam pilot videos I’ve watched I like watching your channel. How long have you been flying
Plus you got the coolest job.
I’d fly to the moon with you
I'm with you. Way too chaotic of an airfield for my flying comfort. Well done!
Deland is a skydive meca. Not only is there a DZ, since the early 80’s, but a number of skydiving equipment manufacturers are located there.
Great enjoyable video. One comment. I hope you and your hangar mate never regret leaving the tow bar attached to the a/c while parked. Such a simple thing might “bite” in the future.
What a beautiful airplane. Very lucky owner!
great flight Capt.Mindy ....thank you! love your videos....🌹
That was fun! Until it wasn't (for you). Deland is crazy! Thanks so much for the upload, I always enjoy it.
Well Done, I prefer your voice over the music. Thanks Again Darlin'
They have so many sky diving quiet old WW2 airports around Melbourne Florida where they sky dive and don't bother plane traffic at the bigger airports.
Your spot on, you got to know your priorities!
Just awesome.
Thanks for filming and stay safe.
Grew up in longview tx (gregg county) so was happy to see barksdale again!
Great flight! You'd think ANY place for skydivers would be better than on top of the airport!
I would say at some point I would invest in an Oxygen sensor you may find that everyone is definitely different. Thanks so much for sharing your experience. 😊
Nice flying 🎉🎉. Watching from Kenya.
Love the flying! Thanks!!!
Great job. I always enjoy your vids.
You totally did the right thing waiting for those jumpers.... That'd freak me out!
So coooooooool, such an inspiration! What an awesome gig.
Safety and flying >> cameras for sure! Think it is good you mention it cause not sure everyone does it that way!
And yeah, skydivers close to runways... doesn't make sense.
So 4 hours in the air. What happens if you need to go potty? 😢
Living the dream Captain Mindy. Love the channel.
Deland is nutzzzzzzz LOL - Nice job young lady!!
I do my flight training in kded we call it the Wild West for a reason 😂
Enjoyed the ride thankyou for sharing 😊
Wow, that's a nice glass cockpit for a Cessna.
That's a nice plane especially with a color TV in the front it's nice to have fun tickets😅
Been 30+ years since I've heard so many Echo Romeo call signs. Go Eagles!😊
Mindy did you get to see any B-52's doing the pattern at Barksdale? Usually on the southbound departures they send you right over the Airforce base. You get a GREAT view of the HUGE B-52's
Excellent flight, Schmiiindy!!!
Always landing at Rochelle in Illinois with jumpers. Get nervous! RPJ! And I have 193 jumps (military).
Even though you had the fuel capacity for non-stop, I'm not sure I'd have the bladder capacity! 😂
Great flight and great landing Mindy!!
bright blue skies with trails
Watch the CG. That black bag might be better in the back seat. Your camera comments are spot on. That poor young lady that crashed 6 months ago. She had like five cameras in her airplane. Nice flight, the 4 engine military on the ground there. How did you get back. Catch a flight or hitchhike.
When the interior is redone, has anyone added ventilated seats?
That’s a hot looking 182! Studying for the Citation so you can fly more with CitationMax! 😍
How much does ferrying pay typically? And who can do do it (ppl, multi, commercial, etc.)?
I love the G1000 182 Skylane
I really enjoyed this.
When are you going to sale another one how often do you sale the plane? Are you sailing them yourself?
Fun job Schmiindy!
The Cirrus has that shopping cart wheel in the front?
Good stuff! Congratulations on your sale!
Spent 100s of hours in 182s. Plane still stirs me.
