I know this might be a bit complicated for Director X, so I can see how he missed this. But: A property developer owning 25% of all properties in a single city is not something that would happen -- they like to diversify with owning stuff in _different_ cities. Because otherwise, _all those properties would be subject to losing value_ all at the same time, if, say for a completely random example..... the city would be home to a RAMPAGING GROUP OF THIEVING THUGS.

True, someone might buy a large parcel if they were going to build something massive, but I can't imagine any construction that would require 25% of an entire city. Even something massive like an airport.. it'd be a lot cheaper to just build outside the city and throw down some transport infrastructure to connect it.

My favorite type of show is where the hero is more morally reprehensible than the villain, but the narrative still frames them as the hero cause that’s how the writer sees the world

I'm someone who often prefered the villains in shows even when they are not in these type of configuration we see in Robyn Hood. But damn...I've never see a series where the hero is so shit. Long live Prince.

lol There's enough funding going round for crap like this. Even if they didn't get the viewership numbers, if they can impress the people dolling out the money, we'll see a season 2!
We have a villain who is legitimately trying to do business and heroes who are just committing crimes, so in a desperate attempt to make the villain actually a bad guy, they had to throw in a plot twist that's on the same level as "he's secretly aspiring to build a puppy kicking mill powered by the cries of children having their candy stolen". The sheriff also used torture when there was no reason to, she could have easily identified The Hood by doing standard police work. Director X is unable to write corruption, so he resorts to cartoony villainy in order to have anything.
Yeah, the reason he can't write corruption - people who have been lying to themselves about the current state of the world (San Fran anyone?) haven't the slightest clue as to how to portray realistic concepts. What a loser

Nobody knew who was buying up hundreds of acres of useless land in west central Florida 50+ years ago. Because if they knew it was all one person, and it was Walt Disney, the price would be inflated beyond any actual value.
That's what I was thinking but at that point Walt was already a huge name. In the show I don't think John was that big a deal. Probably just trying to make an excuse to make him seem bad. Besides it's not like any of these people could buy any land even at a non inflated price.
If Walt had a crystal ball and could see what Disney has become in the 2020's, he would have left all that land flooded.
As a Canadian I am so so proud of this show! I have spent my life gazing at American and British content. And finally a Canadian program gets noticed by British and American content providers. I feel my taxes have finally been well spent. Well done Director X!

Wow, suspension of disbelief was strong in this one. Paper-thin bad guy John Prince might as well have said that his plan was to go around kicking babies. That would have been more believable than what we got.
To be fair with better writing one could sell that as John Prince was manipulating Marian with an absurd story that would ruin her credibility if she used it.
Director X probably loves kicking babies so long as they're still in the womb.

What a season, we laughed, we cried & we suffered brain aneurysm's for 8 weeks together watching this comedy gold. Its sad to see it end, but we can all look forward to Az's next comedy review series whatever that may be. As for "Robyn the Hood" that was dogsh!t & even the actors knew it, they just said their lines, got paid & left kinda like with any Disney product now, maybe Director X will be hired by Disney he has about the same talent as their current writers & ticks off the correct check boxes (he's racist, sexist, black, narcissist, blames fans for review bombing his bad show, hates cops, promotes blm, promotes cuckolds, likes victim porn, has 1 show under his name etc... He's perfect for Disney, give the man $250m to remake Cinderella I dare you Disney).
I will say this I'll give Director X credit when its due so congrats Director X it only took you 7 & a half episodes to finally have your "villains" actually be villains, everyone pour a drink & raise your glass & toast Director X for this rare accomplishment in morden media the Villains actually did something a villain would do in the last f'ing 15mins of this show 🤣(for the npc's who's programming hasn't updated yet that was sarcasm).

You could cut off our limbs, blind us, deafen us, make us mute and I fear I and many of us here could still write something half decent compared to this. On the bright side shows like this fuel my passion to create something good. If I can't find a story I love then I'll just have to create it myself.
