This is a proof of concept cut test.
Specs:
Pressure Treated Pine
250IPM
.20 step over
.5 depth of cut
1/4 upcut from china
Ramping to start the cut.
Imagine what you could do with a spindle! (yes, I will upgrade to a spindle in the future. If the Makita can do this, and spindle can do SO much more!)

Very cool! Can't wait till they ship them out!
For sure!
Thanks for the video for insights on what is coming. Shows a bit of the process and capacity of the setup. Naturally, that poor router was definitely bogging and begging to be replaced by a spindle motor!
For sure was, but this proves what the machine is capable of, and it’s the router that limits the machine, not the machine itself.
awesome. Thank you
Any chance of doing a setup workflow video with useing the touch probe? I've got the same controller and I'm having a heck of a time figuring out how to actually use it and a tool setter to setup my work order coordinates.
Definitely a spindle machine! I was secretly hoping for a bit failure
100%
Any idea how a spindle will attach? Looks like the breakout board DB25 isn't going to work on the new model.
You should try a roughing bit. I like IDC Woodcraft's 1/4" "HOG" bit.
Just curious on you’re one Finity elite did you run your Makita router cable through the drag chains? If so, did you ever have any problem with the frequency wave problem?
Nice
Any chance you could show how the controller handles more complex geometry please? For example some adaptive clearing or 3d parallel toolpaths.
Don't think those little steppers would ever get to 250ipm on complex moves.
An you tell me with your test on speeds how the bits handle it without snapping in half? My fears are always the bits breaking….
By the way I ordered my Journeyman Elite with the 80mm air cooled spindle from PWNcnc. Have until April until I get it ( I’m thinking)
How about more videos on that beautiful machine since we are all waiting for ours….lol
Thanks
Chris
Water cooled spindle would be awesome!
100%
good night. That was moving the table quite a bit haha.
it's on wheels.
And that's the sound a dying bit makes my friends. Sad. I can't wait until I get my Foreman. 😀
Now do it with a 1/8" bit
Nice but missing a network port and onboard memory.
who cares when it has wifi and a usb slot for any size usb stick you want to use.
Trim routers leave a lot on the table.
A 3hp spindle is going to give the Elite wings to fly!!
Not sure you could push it that hard, those 2in hardened steel rails are super stiff but that would be limiting factor with a large spindle, plus ther'e a lot of inertia so you better have a super strong table or the bit will be going one direction while the table recoils in the other.
Is that same thing not possible on the regular Onefinity?
I thought the same?
its possible, but this has closed loop steppers, so even better, faster, smoother.
Why not push to something current model cant hit for better idea of improvements
Because I do not know. Is that a good sound or is that the sound of a spindle and or a bit at the borderline of fail?
oh it's screeming.
@@MyersWoodshop I have a cheap ebay machine using a DW trim router. Deflection so bad I have never pushed it so hard as to hear it sound like that. Just making sure.
meh i dunno. you cutting pine brosef
So are other companies, at slower speeds :)
A 2+ minute video in portrait mode? Yea, no.
Don’t watch it. It was a short for social media.
