- Unhappy and angry member of Club Mahindra Resorts timeshare scheme speaks about how she was induced to pay nearly two lakh rupees with false promises of a MacBook laptop worth Rs 70,000/- and a hefty Amazon gift voucher of Rs 16,000/-. She explains in detail how Club Mahindra members are cheated and defrauded.
Club Mahindra Holidays had refused to refund her money. But later, after this video was published, they quietly coughed up the entire amount.

They call you on your phone and tell you you are eligible for a free gift that you will receive if you attend their meeting in a hotel. Then they take information from you including your salary. If your salary is lower than their threshold, they will cut the call immediately.

Thanks for sharing the details of the scam. These people arrange customer meets in 5 star hotels. One should attend these meetings, eat free food and collect any gift they give. And come back and don't buy any package. If they pester you on phone, complain to local police.

Rule No.1 : Never allow salesmen in your home. Even if they carry Mahindra Brand name.

Can’t we approach consumer court to get our refund as I have paid 9 lakh as full and final payment as their policy is no refund
You need to book holidays one month prior how is it possible to plan holidays so early

Actually the sales people are the crooks. They will lie about everything to meet their target and get the commission. Of course, the company, Club Mahindra in this case, know this but don't do anything about it. They are shielded because there is no written agreement, and if escalated, they can blame it on the sales guy.

I am not a member but I buy rooms via a agent in Chennai since 2006. You can buy sterling, Mahindra outside with out membership. Generally resorts are not that pricy if booked without membership since membership includes initial payment+ annual maintenance fees which is quite sizable.
Can you please share your agent details? it wil be helpful to book holidays at club mahindra for a non member like me

I had similar experience but was able to get full refund of my amount .... A) because I cancelled my membership through EMail before 15 days ,& then started pursuing the matter with the CEO through mail.
That's when they realised the seriousness n started responding to me .
I got my full refund on the date promised by them...

It’s a very good thing that you are bringing it up in a social forum . Years ago I lost 50000 in this way . Never got a refund of course . I hope you are luckier . Kudos to you for speaking up . If you don’t get a refund and continue to be a member , even that will be very frustrating . Firstly every year you will have to pay a reasonably high maintenance fund for a seven day holiday per year . And you would be lucky if you get a booking in their resort when you have your vacation . Most of the times they are booked out and you are asked to reschedule your vacation which obviously is almost always not possible

Similar thing happened with me as well. The sales person promised me 2 gift vouchers but delivered only one. After the money is transferred no one bothers about the customer. The terms and conditions are always in their favour. They only take money and scam you in such a way that you can't even go to the court.
sad to know this ... i am sure there are more people in the same situation ... and all of the victims can come together and file a case against club mahindra ... collectively ... also tag concerned GOVT. authorieties and ministry ... praying and hoping that JUSTICE IS DONE

Do not buy club Mahindra membership, all their commitments are false and it is not worth the money. I am also a victim of club Mahindra membership. After my experience with club Mahindra I am not buying any product or services which is backed by Mahindra group of companies. People don't fall for this kind of trap.
Sister, there is a difference between meeting and briefing. What u went through was briefing. I used to sell these, and then I left the job as it was unethical.

I think it's better that we record the meeting with them, atleast we will have proof in such scenario or we ask them to share all the details on the mail, but the lesson is that we should never trust a word coming out of their mouth.
I too had had similar experience in Mumbai from Club Mahendra. Their sales people make all false promises and get the membership done and then vanish from the scene dumping all their promises to dust. It’s so unethical and surprised to see such unethical practices from Mahindra brand.

They were chasing us also but God Bless my Sis she researched and calculated, read all the terms and conditions and read user reviews and decided not to take this useless membershipl, that way we saved ourselves, Guys its your very hard earned money so please please think 100 times before entering into auch dubious schemes. I am a victim of the Blue membership…all in this group should together file a complaint against club mahindra
1. Club Mahindra is a waste of money
2. These resort memberships are useless and waste of money
3. Enjoy the natural beauty of your choice, go and stay where you want. Not at places where they have resorts!! Their food is so expensive. Nonsense.
4. Even if you can't go and send guests on your behalf to stay, for those also it is still more expensive than staying on your own in any good hotel and going around seeing any place.
5. Many may have good opinions about Club Mahindra, but anyone who values hard earned money, I feel their membership is a waste of money. Anyways the choice is left to each person.

I was deceived same way by Royalsclub international membership. All memberships are scam.
i am member from 1997. i had a lot of fight with them to get the things what they had promised. i have a big correspondence file, where no reply from them including letters to managing director. that is the reason why people are not becoming member of the club and they are offering lucrative gifts. you will find so many people like you who had suffered like this.

Anand Mahindra should be ashamed of how he is destroying his brand name and reputation. Been harassed by Club Mahindra folks many years back and could see this will explode at some point.
This is a good example of how sales employees are icentivised to sell at any cost without bothering about long term consequences. The long term results of such mis selling will backfire big time.

They will never refund.I have cancelled my membership 5 years ago and asked for refund. They have not refunded!Mr Mahendra must look into this business.

Is there no CONSUMER AFFAIRS or Legal consumer courts, where you can get justice?
We also faced similar issue at the time of putchasing the Membership and the sales guy promised us few things including a I phone, which we never got.
Availibility of rooms in resort is very rare thing and you cannot plan your holidays basis Club Mahindra membership. You will never get a booking when you need it.
Only in Offpeak season there is a remote posibility you may get something and that too if you are lucky...Resorts are good but getting a booking on time is a big issue. Customer care is absolutely useless and never will address your issue or assist with bookings...
Why would anyone get such a membership? Can't you plan a holiday on your own?

Yes ,it's a bitter experience for me, they are very bad in customer service, when you lodge a complaint they give you a complaint no, but without addressing the issue they closed the complaint without contacting me. Pl be careful while dealing with these chests.
They called us to attend their presentation, where they poured bunch of lies and tried to convince us to take the membership. After taking a coffee, I smiled at them and told try with other fools.
This happens when you have too much money to spare and no brain to spare.

I hold CM membership. Theres some misselling happening. Some managerial ineffective practices too. Product is fairly good. One should assess the cost of 7-10 nights stay in similar accomodation elsewhere and then compare against your total costs ( intrest , principal loss over initial investment+ annual maintenance costs of rs 20000 ). Do that and then take a call. Secondly , membership allows you to accumulate points and avail as well. But discount that.

A similar thing happened to my Mom 12-14 years back.. I had to threaten them to get our money back and finally they returned our money. This is a trap... Most of the sales guys in India are there to reap you apart. They have robbing mentality

I am surprised that they offered you a Red Studio membership at less than 2 lakhs. I thought the price would be in the 6-7 lakhs range. I took their membership in 2001, that time I paid 2L for a Red 1 BR.

I have made sure to record every call with CM staff may it be contact center of any other associate. They have a tendency to go back on their promises and flip sides whenever they want. They are absolutely horrible

I don't know why go offline agent option if you have all online facilities ? .. never buy subscriptions, insurance, invesment plan like FD, Mutual fund, share from offline agents ... always buy online and take guidance and help via customer care on call (check number from official websites) during purchase... because all calls / conversations are recorded and finally request a final draft copy on E-mail for proof of plan t&c and take some time before making any final decision ... consult with family or friends who working in same fields.

Instead of going to consumer forum, you should go to consumer court. This is fast track also.
You are referring to national consumer helpline I think, you should approach your district consumer court where you will likely get justice.

If yes, then you can go to court with that contract documents

Businesses are criminals and the police also are the same. We are ruled and surrounded by criminals in suits and uniform.
I am a red studio member myself since the last couple of years and I find this membership is just a money trap and scam. You gain nothing and as people pointed out the recurring annual maintenance of around 20000 is a money pit. The rooms and resorts are nothing out of ordinary. Save the money and spend it on better things in life. I regret being a member myself.
Mam the same thing happened to me they refuse to refund but when i sent legal notice they refunded full amount in 15 days . do not let them go do not show weakness social media post will not help you have to take legal fight in consumer court and have patience just to remind that online consumer complain does not do much help go with direct fight
