So IMHO Club Mahindra only exists because people aren't financially aware - which is ironic as you're on a mission to make them financially aware Pranjal sir. So as long as you & other people spread financial awareness, you'll be hurting Club Mahindra's business😅

THIS IS A FLOP BUSINESS MODEL FOR FINANCIALLY INTELLIGENT PEOPLE.
We have to pay upfront cost of minimum 5lakh + 20000 per year as Annual maintenance charges.
This is NOT AT ALL a FINANCIALLY CLEVER DECISION.
If you put 5lakh even in bank FD @6% Interest you can earn 30000 per year. This 30000 + 20000Rs Annual maintenance fee = 50000Rs.
By this 50000Rs you can easily avail holidays every year....

30 years back I was offered this membership for around 1 lakh on installments, it was looking very lucrative. I was going to agree but my wife saved me from this trap, i now realise how intelligent she was at such a young age
You are lucky to have such a level headed wife. My wife pushed me into this even though I was not very keen. I signed up just for her sake. Now I'm regretting it.
Just last month Club Mahindra has been caught violating many norms. The members are being scammed.
Nice video. If you just invest in FD, for 8 lakhs we get roughly around INR 40000 and we can save a maintenance fee of INR 20000. So with INR 60000 you can easily buy a holiday for 7 days in any 4 or 5-star hotels

@Pranjal My relative is a member for a long time...whenever he takes vacation he never gets to stay in his preferred location...plus he has to choose his stay as per vacancy available...since 2017 he has never spent his vacation where he really wanted to instead he had to pick amongst choices provided to him

I get free stay in CM every year for 7 days in all seasons from my corporate, but I have used it only once in last 7 yrs.. Resort was good, but it's so big that just to reach reception or restaurant or activity area within CM premises, you have to walk a lot.. they have vehicle but only for senior citizens and waiting time is 20-25 minutes.. so no use.. Food is super expensive.. it's in remote area.. very far from EVERYTHING.. you must have own car.. otherwise renting cab everyday will add-up cost and limitations as well.. I had rented cab for 5 days with airport pick-up & drop and spent 20k on that.. Because I had cab full time available, I could go out to nearby marketplace for breakfast lunch dinner .. still for experience ate couple of times at CM restaurants also.. Food was good, but very expensive.. Traveling time increase to sight seeing places because this is too far from EVERYTHING as I mentioned earlier.. So just imagine, even after having total free stay without paying for membership & anual fees, I still don't prefer to go to CM resorts because of these issues... I can understand the pain of paid members..

Living this series. All 3 cases are near to our daily life and eye opener. Few years ago I got into CM trap but realized next day and did cancel the deal.

We came accross one similar company. Vivanta. They say it's joint venture of Taj by Tata. They even come down from Rs. 5 lakh to Rs. 1200 per month as EMI option to desperately sell the membership.
I am the member of club mahindra since last few years at first i feel i was trapped in some scam after paying such huge amount but after staying in resorts of Club Mahindra I am very much satisfied.After seeing your video the little much of doubt that was on my mind is completely cleared.

As a Club Mahindra member since 12 years now, I agree to everything you said, except just a piece of information: there is not extra person cost, in terms of money, if the member is itself present... They'll just deduct "days" from the member's account for each extra room... Also, unused days from 3 years are available to be used at any time :) Based on the colour of your membership and room types, number of days deducted is calculated... Suppose, I have a membership of red colour and room type 1BR, and I get 1 room booked which is studio, number of days deducted will not be whole 1 day, it will be in points.... Similarly if I choose during a lower colour type, it will be a lesser number.. And vice versa...
Sir, if I have paid for the previous year's ASF but the unused days are carried forward. I can't enjoy those lapsed days unless I pay ASF for the current year, right! When I have already paid that year's ASF 😢😢😢

The analysis of the idea would have been more interesting if you would have thrown more facts to support the actual revenue model of Club Mahindra. Considering Club Mahindra is way old than Netflix and other subscription model their no of customers growth is way less. Next, I know many customers of Club Mahindra who are dissatisfied with their poor service and lack of room availability.

Broadly speaking we can say that the membership count is going to increase because of the boost in per capita income and digital accessibility in the years to come. I have one question - in spite of this profitable business model, share price of the business hasn't moved much in the last 12 years. Have they recently adopted this business model?
I agree with growing per capita since liberalisation, but many people critically argue that these hotels have expensive food menu also these hotels are far away from cities hence the travel expenses increases, also many people don't go for vacation as jobs in informal sectors doesn't give much holidays apart from that this service is only for selective people as many of them find loss as they don't go for vacation every year. Just my personal biased criticism, you guys can highly disagree too
Suppose , instead of paying them 5 lakh , we invest these 5 lakhs and stay invested for minimal 1 yrs in good stock .. i assume we will get minimum 10% as return on those 5 lakhs .. we will make 50,000 ( minimum) ... plus we also save 20,000 of annual maintenance charges .. that makes 50,000 + 20,000 per year ... plus our 5 lakh is also with us .. so, all I want to say instead of giving them 5 lac for their membership fee ,we can easily make a very good holiday without giving them any penny with those 70,000 that we have earned and saved thru investing ...

As per you club Mahindra has 3,00,000 members and rooms available in all the resorts are 4000
So club Mahindra can give stay to total 4000 members i a day and in 356 days total stay to members are =4000*365 =14,60,000 stays considering all the rooms are booked for 365 days however they have 3,00,000 members and they need to give 7 nights to each member that’s come out to =3,00,000 * 7 =21,00,000 stays that is short by 6,40,000 nights that means 640000/7=91428 members will no be able to book room
If club Mahindra don’t have sufficient rooms they why are they adding members correct me if have done some error in calculation data picked according to said by you

One thing 🤔let's say person is paying one time payment of 5,00,000 and annual maintenance fee 20,000 for 25 years...so in total it cost 5,00,000 + 20000*25 = 10,00,000

Yeah it sounds really weird and not a bit attractive.
Plus 20000 is not fixed it will increase
1. High transport cost, when you go out for sight seeing, shopping.
2. High food bills.
3. Lapsed holiday days, if you couldn't use it for any reason.
4. Time wasted in traveling.
5. When you want to go out, family will think twice - Market is so far away, रहने दो इतनी दूर कौन जाए।
It should be 25 times, whenever you want, instead of 7 days in a year. If insted of two persons 4 persons join as a group deduct two trips from the total number of times. For senior citizens who are capable of paying that fat amount of ₹5 lakhs at a time 25 years period is not required at all.
Later life they can not move as many times yearly.
It should be like this.
2 members 25 times no limit per year.
4 members 12.5 times.
5 members 10 times.
That kind of free occupancy will allow people to choose such plans. Flexibility is more important to people rather rigid rules, to spoil their holiday moods.

From outside the Idea of Club mahindra looks good, but nowadays Indians are more cautious about the world, and now everyon knows ki C Mahindra's Hotel will be 40-50 km away where the cost of taxi will increase, because of remote location the prineness of property fades away, so most probably in near future The exixting members of club mahindra will start complining and their sales will go down drastically. Moreover it is not absolutely free, they charge you for food too and I guess they charge GST from the consumer so all in all this Club mahindra thing will not be able to survive in long run.

You should have explained this model of paying 5-10 Lac with Present Value & Future Value. This is comparable with Insurance premiums, paying single time payment vs installment for lifetime.

They are getting away because India does not have antitrust laws like we have here in Canada. A business like Club Mahindra will get shut down by regulators here in Canada. If you do it on different dates it will further normalize the market fluctuations further a month, in long run. Which is a good thing. The more you normalize the market investment the more steady your assets will grow..

Being a hotelier i have attended their seminar and it was clear that their sales services are poor. Their agents hides all these and many others Terms and Conditions, normal public can be easily traped.

Yes, i understood this concept way before in early 2000 and denied membership from Country Club. If I am not going on holidays a single year, my days and annual maintenance charges also wasted...be careful to be trapped in this Honey Trap...
