I was given one of those in May as part of a new job. It was a low mile first year, '09, but hadn't been driven much for 4 years. It a well finished and good looking car that held the road better than I anticipated. It had the 2.0T also, but a 6 speed automatic. Got over 30 mpg several times. The engine seemed to produce more than 200hp-- very quick. Put on around 9000 trouble-free miles and sold it, but would have considered keeping it if it had a manual trans.
I agree. They don't seem to have a handle on what sells. Every year they change it up. Some things improve, others go by the wayside. I'd like to see the Passat R-Line have the 2.0 (252 hp version), too!
We have a 13 CC LUX and it is a really nice car but i'm not impressed with the gas mileage. We went up north about 1400 miles one way and it got around 28-29 not very good for just a 2 litre engine. My 12 mustang GT can get 24-25 with the v8.One thing that pisses me off is to lock the car you have to use the remote, you can't hit the power lock on the door it will not lock it that way. Also if your sitting at a light and you put the car in neutral while your sitting there you have to step on the brake to put it in drive again. No problems so far but it only has 13000 miles on it. Excellent headlights and sound quality with the stereo but pretty shitty navigation my trac phone has better nav.
I think it has a lot to do in the air where you live. I live on the coat, at about 20 ft altitude from sea level, and there is a lot of humidity with low altitude air, which all adds to the air friction. I get about 22 MPG average on mine at home, but when I went to Colorado I got up to 37 MPG!

I love my 2013 Red CC!
Great review, nice car!
It just doesn't sound the same without "Haymart" in the intro!
Crazy the Passat and all trim levels can't get the 2.0 w/ DSG and the CC can't get the VR6 now. Strange
