      Your "TPMS sensors" link doesn't go to any specific product, just a general search phrase on Amazon. My understanding is that the TS508 tool can only clone/program Autel's own "MX" series of sensors, not other aftermarket or OEM brands.

    Hello there, I want to thank you so much for this simple way to relearn those sensors. I have the same device FS508 I tried on all my cars which they are Toyota, to relearn them before I install them. In my hand never worked. But this way you reprogram the car computer pcu, with new sensors, great idea I suffered a lot to do the other way but never worked. Because the sensor need more or less pressure, thank you again. take care man

      Most households have 2-4 cars, with 4-5 sensors in each car. Then there are also two sets of parents, friends, neighbors & relatives with cars. Sensor batteries die about every 5 years. Then there are winter/summer tire sets in some areas of the country... Unless you are lonely antisocial 90-years old living in Florida, its gonna be probably used at least twice a year.

I wonder if the way you finished the process when you get "OBD relearn successful" message, turning ignition off, and on again, before unlock the cable from the car ODB socket, and them start the car, was in the MaxiTPMS manual. How are you going to let the air out of the tire one at a time to see which one puts the light on, if the light is already on?

    • @DIYtimeTech
      @DIYtimeTech 10 місяців тому

      Blinking light indicates dead sensor. Solid light lets you know that tire pressure is low. Solid light would be triggered by a good working sensor and it should take precedence over blinking light. You basically deflate one tire at s time and see which tire would cause blinking light to turn solid.
      May not work the same on all car brands, but thats what it was doing on my car.

I bought another TMPS tool from Amazon (by Launch) that will not read the sensors on my Prius. I know the tool works because it read all 4 sensors from my 2009 Sonata. I purchased a new Autel TS508 on eBay for $120 + sales tax, shipped, after a frustrating experience at a local tire chain. My first use was to check pressure, and it quickly detected a dead/defective new sensor in one wheel. The shop verified my finding and replaced the sensor at no charge. However, I've learned that on at least fourth gen Toyota 4Runners, the position and ID relearn process screws up the vehicle-stability system (instrument panel VSC Trac lights stay on). Fixing that requires a zero-point calibration process to be performed. Easy to do, but since the mechs at the shop had never heard of that, I found the process online and did it myself.

      Nice! If you have summer/winter sets of tires, the tool will pay for itself very quickly!

      @@bywayz Thanks for passing on your experience. I might see if I can find the TS508 for a low price.

      Cheapest solution is free from American tires co. For a DIY like me, I bought this tool and this video was helpful. Money means nothing if it solves stress with multiple cars and no visits to tire shops that takes hours to deal with. Time is money. Best I got the tool for was $200 on eBay.

      Not sure how you missed it, but it is clearly stated in the video: after reading new sensors to connect tool to OBD2 port and turn on the ignition.
      Keep on mind that other car brands may have different on screen instructions. I am just showing how it worked on my 07 Altima.
