thank you Grizzly Bear for making my creative soul become reborn everytime u play while i paint in the studio. A simple answer is my fav so far. This band should be massive. Another truely amazing album.
I always come back to hear this song, and the more I hear the more it makes sense to me. Me and my friend barely had a case and it was over before we tried. I spent the night thinking about it and crying, and incredible how it seems to hear this song made me stop crying. Dawned and I have not slept yet.
Just saw the video on Blogotheque. I'm extremely impressed with the phenomenal voices and instrumentation. Echoes of Moby Grape, The Byrds and even early Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young... Very wonderful and artsy production. These guys are very much for real!
This song makes me sad. As someone who didn't see their football career thru because I didn't speak up & ask for help with all the issues I had. Didn't take it in stride. Beautiful song & this is why I love music.
The best part of the video is at the end when she came into a room. Her facial expression was conveyed perfectly with the sound of the dramatic music. Props to the director on that scene.
Each morning, awake to go to school angry really do nothing but wings I wake every six-thirty in the morning I turn on the TV and watch MTV week up and always encourages me this song brings me good memories.
It's not "funny", it's touching. On one walls, she's got 1D posters like a typical teen girl. On the adjacent wall she has her medals, indicative of her abnormal ability. The walls are perpendicular; they will always be at odds. Her individual gift keeps her from being recognized as part of the larger group. It makes other people see her as other. That's why the scenes with the ice rink powerful: part of her is compelled to keep working, but its also what keeps her apart.
I heard this on NPRs world cafe in mid September, along with a play through of the entire album shields. Been listening to it ever since. Thank you NPR, and thank you Grizzly Bear, for the amazing music.
+Gabriel Pontual I'm a figure skater as well, seeing her walk with those skates without guards is disturbing. But I do love the concept of the video quite a lot.
***** Omg imagine if we both had businesses and met up in the future 😲 :D Yeah my Dad is a professor for marketing and he knows quite a lot about business so I think he'll be helpful. Hopefully I won't go broke >_< Oh well I'm from Newcastle but my parents are from Nigeria :)
***** whoop, thank you! :D I've always hated being British because this American kid at my youth club used to make fun of me. I don't know why tbh because he lived in England too (where is the logic?) 😂 I've always wanted to visit Brazil! It seems like such an amazing place with such a beautiful enviroment. You're so lucky to have that at your doorstep. All I have are flats and houses blocking my view of the sky :( That sounds super awesome, the stuff about your lineage being part Swedish :) I'm just Nigerian from both sides - I know, how boring :( and I can only speak English. Oh shoot. So is it marketing tips that you need? Because I could always ask my Dad or something? :)
***** Aaah you actually know about the geordie accent! :D That's great, most people I talk to that aren't from the UK think I'm Irish or Scottish, and it annoys me so much! 😩 I guess I see where they're coming from because Newcastle borders Scotland and most of their slang filters in, but we pronounce thing soo differently, even a five year old could tell the difference 😁 I had a friend from Norway who moved to Newcastle and could understand *exactly* what I was saying in a thick Geordie accent. Weird fact but: because of the vikings inhabiting Scotland and the North of England ages ago, most of our slang comes from Scandinavian languages and Old Norse :) Your Dad sounds cool 😂 My Dad would probably ignore me - in fact, my Dad wouldn't be in the house; he'd be on another business trip... again 😧 I literally had to just search up what nationality 'Frisian' is 😁😂 It sounds amazing! Your daughter's name is beautiful! Mind if I steal it for my future child, haha 😁 Tbh I think we have the same problem with languages. I quit Mandarin because I got bored too :/ You have pale skin and African hair! Oh my god that's beautiful, I'm trying to imagine it now. Well, when I visited Nigeria it was probably as hot as Brazil is, maybe even hotter! It's a good thing I was in an air conditioned room and car. One day I dared to step outside in the heat and I almost died. I was sweating in five minutes 😂 Actually, both my parents are Igbo but I know about Yoruba. There's also Hausa as well. I feel kind of ashamed when I go on holiday and my grandparents ask me something in Igbo and I can't reply bc I don't know what the hell they've said :/ I speak English, learning German, know a bit of Spanish. I think if I got back to Mandarin I'd do quite well but I really want to start learning Norweigan and Dutch. Hey, I won't be surprised if you become the world's biggest self-made business tycoon in the world in a few years! Soon you'll be living in the rich parts of Brazil and your daughter can probably be able to go to Aiglon College or something :) Don't forget about me when your company takes over the world - I predicted it first, remember ;) oh and what type of business is it?
Very interesting video, really enjoy the editing towards the end where she is screaming in the room. It creates a sound by flipping through clips like that. Well done.
this song being linked to Karma Police is a very intelligent observation. I will add more: Ok Computer and Shields are both band's 3rd album. The new generation of Grizzly Bear fans will love Yet Again like the way Radiohead fans loved/love Karma Police. I like to think that many Radiohead - "Let Down" fans will love Grizzly Bears "A Simple Answer". (because they share a similar ending) then "Half Gate" is their "Paranoid Android". Well, I Might Be Wrong!
I love this video, even though it's extremely disturbing. There are times that the world can feel like a foreign place and when even mundane settings can feel terrifying, if you have a mental illness or panic disorder. This gives us a glimpse into it.
Ed and Daniel's voices work extremely well together. There should be more bands with multiple lead singers to create a more dynamic album. Most albums feel the same unless the musician can change things up frequently.
I totally get this. I was a competitive figure skater growing up. I also would speak but not confide.....all while taking it "in stride". I also lost my mind. I'm going to conclude that Grizzly Bear must have written this for me.
I'm inclined to think your fleeting inspiration for this statement was the shot of the headlamp lit road through the windshield, at 3:08. Apart from this tiny similarity to Radiohead's Karma Police video, I fail to find any other parallel, whatsoever, between the two songs. Neither in sonic quality, nor cultural significance do I see any similarity at all. How this comment garners so many "up votes" blows my mind to consider.
a band that has never been appreciated fully for how amazing they are.
When you fail at something you're supposed to be good. When you're alone in the darkness. Falling, drowning... Still my favorite.
most underrated band of all time
I love this.
Art, emotions and darkness
Me 2
I remember my dad showing this to me when i was 7 or 6 and i loved it very much and i just remembered this for some reason
Same. Makes me sad and nostalgic
Yet again we're the only ones
No surprise, this is often how it's done
Lately it's about all I can take
I will move and mend and mold this break
Shell with another crack
I'm small but I can keep track
Too soon, everyone just step away
I'm sure this isn't the last play
Take it all in stride
Speak, don't confide
We barely had a case
It's done before we try
Stop and end by night
A desert in your face
Take score, even playing fields this game
I know when all's said we're the same
If I could I would leave it all be
No chance to move backwards and see
Take it all in stride
Speak, don't confide
We barely had a case
It's done before we try
Stop and end by night
A desert in your face
Take it all in stride
Speak, don't confide
We barely had a case
It's done before we try
Stop and end by night
A desert in your face
The chords are simply out of this world.
I love how the laughing smiling shot is editited into the middle of the screaming strobes!!
This track is insanely good. Wow! Beautiful music. Great video too. All around a class act!
Now that's original and a masterpiece
Good job guys...
That song plays in my mind over and over again
Great song from a great album from a great band.
One of my favourite songs. Wonderful. In fact the whole album from it comes is... wow!
thank you Grizzly Bear for making my creative soul become reborn everytime u play while i paint in the studio. A simple answer is my fav so far. This band should be massive. Another truely amazing album.

This is incredible...
Great Melodic! ♥
This is one of the videos I had to study back in college for my media course. It’s well done.
this video is pure perfection.

I know that and I also appreciate that they do that. I was just expressing how much I love Ed's singing.
I heard this on NPRs world cafe in mid September, along with a play through of the entire album shields. Been listening to it ever since. Thank you NPR, and thank you Grizzly Bear, for the amazing music.
The kind of music that validates all you've done and all that you're doing in this life is deep down a wonderful thing
Nostalgic.
The water, WITH THE SUPERB ECHO, makes it for me. That, and the ending scream of the banshee paired with the ending guitar solo.
Adoro essa música *-*
I can't get enough of this song...WOW
So wonderful.
Yes please.
I'm glad to see i'm not the only one that goes somewhere else every time I fall at the ice rink. It really does drive you nuts!
+Daisy Vargas is it THAT disturbing? I mean, the clip displays it as she is in profound conflict with herself, wandering on skates and all...
+Gabriel Pontual I'm a figure skater as well, seeing her walk with those skates without guards is disturbing. But I do love the concept of the video quite a lot.
You're home girl! Stop crying, because everything is for you here! :)
Well Grizzly Bear have "Yet Again" impressed me with this :)
***** Aw thank you :) I hate my second name and yours is ten times better :)
***** your second name sounds sooo intriguing *o* where do you come from?
Funny, I want to go into business when I'm older... 😨😅
***** Omg imagine if we both had businesses and met up in the future 😲 :D

This song has found a niche in my subconscious and it is thriving
this is a gorgeous song
Awesome song.
Wonderful song .
For me it's pretty much the other way around. Brilliant song!
This... this is art. Holy shit. I've got chills.
Nossa, muito linda essa música!
Love this video as much as I love the song! Beautifully shot, original, and atmospheric! Nice work GB!
I heard this song on the radio tonight in my car and instantly fell in love with this song.
Indeed, one of the best 2012 tracks!
Very interesting video, really enjoy the editing towards the end where she is screaming in the room. It creates a sound by flipping through clips like that. Well done.
This is such a beautiful song. The video is quite striking, too.
That ending was NOISY. I dig.
Powerful metaphor in the beginning. This is what life for a perfectionist is like.
this was my favorite song from the album. Video is awesome.
nenhum brasileiro , pena na sabem o que estao perdendo
Concordo
Somos 4 agora rs, essa música me traz uma sensação diferente, mto bom.

Brasileiro só quer saber de funk rapazes. Não tem tempo para esse tipo de música.
Yes!
saw them at coachella and the hollywood forever cemetery. this band made it into my heart, and into my acid playlist ;)
Great melody from another hip indie band
And more importantly, 4 more fantastic albums
This vid is deep and depressing haha, insane how reflective it is..

great work on the video Emily!
Where Words Fail Music...Speaks!!!!
The ending of this video is brilliant
Saw them yesterday in Hamburg. Insane Performance!

this makes all the sense
So darn vibey!!
Check out Local Natives if you like these guys.

awesome song.
i want to listen to this band so bad, it almost hurts.
Not what I was expecting...compared to the other videos...but I still love the song.

Its a good song. I liked it.
Harryyyyyyyyyy in her room.. :))))
Don't think I'll go skating too soon after this.
Hmmm... I'm not sure what to say about the video, but this is my absolute favorite song on Sheilds
The first few seconds of the song are a little time travel for me
hmm
it's not about being similar. it's about their musical genius.
OMG!!!!! I'm so excited!!!
The way Pitchfork described this in their editorial, I didn't want to see this at all at first.
Cool jam!!
The bit starting at 4:19 is one of the best moments in music in the last 5 years.

omg, finally a normal, commercial video on grizzly bear's song...
I love Grizzly Bear!!!!!!!!!
It's like Black Swan all over again
I want a room with posters like that ! :)
