I started to listen to Grizzly Bear because Jonny Greenwood once stated that they were amidst his favorite bands of all time: best decision of the year so far.
one of the greatest bands for harmonies, ever. they know how to sing. and i love it. all of their music is so atmospheric but grounded at the same time
Server/student during covid, and disassociating so much lately. Just finished my second double for the weekend. This does truly hit different right now.
I'm so glad I got to see a few of these album tours live before they moved on. I can't blame any artist for wanting to pursue their next journey. They left us with some amazing things to enjoy. I appreciate their stated mindset that they are just doing other things and there's still a chance that could lead to coming back together.
That comment was one year ago, and here I am, still quarantine here in Brazil. Only sad news every all over the places, tv, radio, social media…. Thankfully we still have art to run away… hope everyone is safe and healthy 🙏
nirvana was indie. radiohead's range of songwriting far surpasses grizzly bear (for now) and they were humongous. at the drive in. the breeders. for awhile good indie music was popular. father john misty's doing pretty well.
I met Grizzly Bear in 2009 with MTV Lab Now (Brazilian TV show), which for me was the best clip channel, even though it was already on the verge of decadence at that time. Grizzly's melancholy vibe bought me I had a difficult adolescence, no one I knew listened to this and to avoid being bullied I listened in secret. Today, 13 years older, my musical taste follows the culture of each state I'm going to live in, but I carry in my chest sounds like this band and I only show it to audiences who appreciate the genre.
the creative imagination of this music video is really quite a depressive reality most of us must have faced or have gone through at some point in a western world. trying to achieve your dreams and failing, then falling into a state of drowning hopelessness we must try to breach out of. to only fined ourselves wondering the world to regain the desire to set out what we once wanted so bad...and once its achieved you only realise that when you get home your trapped, in what seems to be the endless cycle of your youthful efforts that come screaming back at you 6:00am every morning. great video, love the song, have a great day :)
Fuck you guys touch me sooo fucking deeply it hurt sometimes. It's so painful I can barely bare to hear it. I've been a musician and obsessed with music since I was a child 25 years ago and I think Grizzly Bear touches me more deeply than anything I've ever experienced. Any music, any waterfall, any kiss, any death, any ocean or journey. Anything.
This makes sense to me on some fundamental level, but I feel like I can't share it with the people I know because they don't understand the soul-abducting pain of addiction. I won't say the song is about that; I think it's vague enough to resonate to several themes, but that's almost all I know.
Video was shot in Toronto, at the corner of Verobeach Blvd. and Coral Gable Dr. (you can see the Coral Gable sign when the skater gets dropped off at 3:24) just off of Weston Road. www.google.ca/maps/@43.735143,-79.5445881,3a,37.5y,355.6h,87.02t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1ssHJjoHzm1V9_I-vnIqlcjA!2e0!7i13312!8i6656
Someone liked yer comment again lel I wonder if comments that get like 50 likes notify you EVERY SINGLE TIME or if YT has some kind of automatic ‘turning off’ function for them lololol Like the first few times is all “yayyy validation from others” then it’s all “STFU AND LEMME LIVE MY LIFEEEE”
Depois de muito ouvir Grizzly é rejuvenescer, lembrar de coisas boas e comprovar que quando uma obra de arte é bem construída não tem prazo de validade.
no fucking way I was listening to the pixies when I searched mesmerizing music and randomly came across them and I was like holy shit they're amazing..
2024, this will never die
Never! Still listening strong as we cruise into 2025🎶
I started to listen to Grizzly Bear because Jonny Greenwood once stated that they were amidst his favorite bands of all time: best decision of the year so far.
Whoa the legendary Jonny Greenwood listens to Grizzly Bear? One more reason to love Radiohead and all the members in it!
one of the greatest bands for harmonies, ever. they know how to sing. and i love it. all of their music is so atmospheric but grounded at the same time
Them and maybe Fleet Foxes if we're talking vocal harmonies
@@mellywaytillmydyinday6674 you are DAMN right
@@mellywaytillmydyinday6674also Parcels, Local Natives, and Half Moon Run
I am sitting outside of my workplace at five am listening to this. Hadn't slept all night and feel like shit. This song is transcendental :,)/(
+John doe not sleeping is transcendental brother
***** so true, gives you that philosophical high but makes you sleep even longer when you come to it.

That is the fucking sound my life makes
lol
It's crazy to see how many people get this. I thought I was the only one who felt that way.
the realities we live and think mundane, contain immense poetry
Who's out there listening to it during the quarentine?
That comment was one year ago, and here I am, still quarantine here in Brazil. Only sad news every all over the places, tv, radio, social media…. Thankfully we still have art to run away… hope everyone is safe and healthy 🙏
My favourite Grizzly Bear song. Perfect, perfect, perfect
Wow, this melody is mind-blowing, I can't get it out of my head (and I won't)
Lyrics
Yet again we're the only ones
No surprise, this is often how it's done
Lately it's about all I can take
I will move and mend and mold this break
Shell with another crack
I'm small but I can keep track
Too soon, everyone just step away
I'm sure this isn't the last play
Take it all in stride
Speak, don't confide
We barely had a case
It's done before we try
Stop and end by night
A desert in your face
Take score, even playing fields this game
I know when all's said we're the same
If I could I would leave it all be
No chance to move backwards and see
Take it all in stride
Speak, don't confide
We barely had a case
It's done before we try
Stop and end by night
A desert in your face
Take it all in stride
Speak, don't confide
We barely had a case
It's done before we try
Stop and end by night
A desert in your face

How in the name of God are their videos not getting more hits? Shields is fantastic.
Grizzly Bear is one of the best pop bands left.
Cause there are a lot of people who think Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj make good music :/
because they dont get much advertisement and have a kind of pretentious rep
***** not true at all. Its in style to be indie revolved now.
Zetox only tweens. Saying that is the default response, unhelpful at best.
