My wife Laura died September from a 6 week battle with cancer. She was 36 and left behind myself and two beautiful children. She was more than a superstar x
Dear Ollie, May you keep Laura's memories alive for you and your children, as hard as it is she was your superstar. I cannot even begin to imagine what you have lost but I hope you are keeping as strong as able, nevertheless people are here for you and please reach out when you feel down. I hate September as I lost someone then too and if you ever need to speak your emotions when you feel you can't to those close to you, I will happily be the person you can voice any and all feelings to if needed. wishing you the best and hope you are ok
I bet you bring the party wherever you go and your smile lights up a dim room. You're important and I hope you have a blessed life because you deserve it. I hope you feel better because you matter. ❤❤❤

This has to be one of my most favourite music videos of all time. Haunting song, wonderfully shot and so powerful. The three characters in this video all represent something very poignant to me. Really hits hard, straight to the heart.
I hadn't started watching Wentworth until recently but when I got to that scene at the end of season 4 and then at the beginning of season 5 I lost my mind I didn't cry but I came close be with such an incredible character and she went through hell but still made it out stronger than anyone ever would have been able to and when she finally finds happiness she feels that that person has been taken away from her and she ends up going to get herself killed to destroy the person who took away the one person she really loved besides her daughter only for that person to end up being alive and having to go on without her but that shows how much love bea Smith had for Allie
I love this song so much! Although my best friend and big sister was named Laura. She passed of cancer when I was a teenager. Our mother and I by her side, until she breathed her last breath.. Listening to this song is like talking about her and her death. Some days I can listen/speak and smile. Other days it's a good way to make myself weep. Beautiful song though! And she was a beautiful person. Laura you're more than a super star. ❤️❤️❤️
I’m thinking of my sister gone too...almost 4 years❤️, grief still leaps out of my chest when I least expect it...like coming across this song. Music. Bring us back our gigs and connection xx
Most simple seductive beautiful song in the world. My sister is called Laura and she is an absolute superstar, she helped me through my abuse and trauma. She was there when no one else was. Because of her she gave me the strength to write a book about my childhood and selfpublish and put it out there!
Hi Andrew, i do wish you well in your life & i'm sorry, to hear of any childhood pain that you had to endure. I'll buy a copy of your book. Take care & may only love, light, peace & positivity follow you.
Me too and that's why I'm here because I had to take a minute and find this song and listen to it while I thought about BEA. She's so beautiful to me honestly there's quite a few Australian Beauties on Wentworth. Which is why I'm sure that is what catches most of us guys attention in the beginning. Then I recall seeing Bea on other shows. She's just so dam cute
It truly is. I know I am so late to reply to this comment, but i needed to. This is the best song i have heard in years. Seeing Bat For Lashes in concert was the best day of my LIFE. She is such an inspiration.
The depth of emotion and sub-text is so lovely. I used to skip this song on the album but then I said, "Why the hell not. It's been 4 years. just give it a try." Now, I can't get the damn song out of my mind. I whistle it. I hum it. I know the lyrics. I love this song.

I can’t get past the first 10 seconds without crying. And its not just tears its a sob. I feel like she was my mum or something. I love you to the moon and back. 🥀
I saw Natasha Khan when I walking down the street on Laugarvegur in Reykjavík. She was in tourist gear and smiling. She was with Jonsi from Sigur Rós. I was like oh oh its Bat for lashes but I didn´t. I kept it cool and walked past her. She was so cute

Its not a cowencediece, I'd say a sign that someone is in a beautiful place now. I had a friend od and I was driving back from the funeral. A song came on the radio. Train, calling all you angels, i was in tears but felt a little bit of joy as well. It was like meant for me to understand that he's at rest. 👃🕯♾
In 2007 I had just suffered a bad breakup and "Don't worry, be happy!" by Bobby McFerrin came on the radio. It was the first time I'd ever heard that song. It made me cry with how ridiculous the situation was and the irony that this song of all songs played. But afterwards, its message stayed with me and I like to think that was the turning point where I started to get over things. Just proves the power music has over us all.
it's gorgeous! I think I hear a double bass or cello in the background, a few violins... it just makes it!! but also trombones? Or some bass instrument, it's beautiful
proves again that the suits from the companies have no clue about art and just go by their focus tested lowest common denominator crap. Song is beautiful because it's so minimalist with the instruments, puts emphasis in the performance and the instruments that are there.

Pakistaneee... has some precious sides beyond the clichés i suppose... unfortunately they're a minority to observe the ruby ruby light thru the (sometimes) confuse local crowd
Just the emotional expression of the transgendered dancer; of a silent pain; of being used to being left out, only to be welcomed with open arms, made me tear up.
The inherent beauty within both the song and video never fails to floor me! I find it hard to believe how human beings can dig so far into the very depths of my soul with such relatively simple sound and vision. So moving! Superb stuff, Natasha... \m/ (:o)
Fun fact: This song is dedicated to Little Nell (or Laura Campbell) who's famous for playing Columbia in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, hence "and in this horror show I've got to tell you so, oh Laura, your more then a superstar".
Well, I think that "Laura" is Natasha and actually everbody of us. "When your smile is so wide and your heels are so high, you can´t cry..." It means that she can´t show her real emotions in public life. As how each of us, when we are sad, unhappy or when we have melancholic mood, we can´t just seat and cry. Sometimes we have to pretend we are happy and everything is OK. And if you saw some Bat for lashes´s interviews, you could see how she´s smiling all the time. She looks so happy and optimistic. But her song prove us, that she is sad sometimes. But she just can´t show it. And also I think, that this song is about love, which is destroying us and we know it. "You're the train that crashed my heart you're the glitter in the dark..." But we also know, that we need it, because it´s the only think, which can save us. It´s our glitter in the dark and it gives us a hope...
I just heard the piano part (transposed to a higher pitch) used in another song and it's taken me ages to remember where it came from - you know when you hear the echo of a song you love and can't place it or recall it ... maddening - and i'm so glad i remembered - what a heart turning, gut churning, beautiful song, a masterpiece.
This song is dedicated to Laura Elizabeth Campbell who is good friends with Natasha Khan. Why else would Natasha make a direct reference to RHPS via "In this 'horror show'"? Columbia's awesome.
This woman is so exotic, intriguing and very naturally beautiful, both inside and out. The sounds being emitted from her vocal chords.......Wow!!! So damn talented and she should be right up there with the very best and she shouldn't be so underrated. She deserves much more musical attention. I first heard of her years ago and i became hooked immediately. I love her strong and clear, slightly smoky and husky voice. I love all her vocals and her sometimes dark musical vocals/sounds. Thank you for sharing and sending peace, light and positivity to all.
I just saw 'The Glass Menagerie' by Tennesse Williams and I could swear that this song was written about the play's tragic character, also called Laura, who was scorned by the world, spends all her time withdrawn from other people. She has been 'left behind' and lives in her own ethereal world, 'a pale blue dream', frequently being referred to as 'Blue Roses'. In the play she's 'the last unicorn' in a world of horses and only her beloved brother recognises her as such. This song sounds like it's being told from his perspective, conveying all his sadness for Laura's insular and enigmatic ways. I was disbelief to find that this wasn't in fact Natasha's inspiration for this song. Both pieces of art make me cry lol.
My name is Laura, and my daughter sent this to me today. I’m still crying bittersweet tears, I’m so grateful for her. She knows how much I want to dance again, and how sorry I am that illness and injury have disabled me, and changed our lives. For now, I’m still fighting💪❤️🔥🔥
my heart is alternating breaking and rejoicing. this video and song, this woman at the end of her performing life. her eyes, her stance. so heartbreaking, so poignant, so stunningly beautiful. i have not seen something so filled with real emotion in music. i will have my grade 8 students do a dance to this. this has stayed with me for weeks now. damn it, someone is cutting onions beside me!
We drove north to a place we'd never been The full moon ahead over the golden hill The sun setting behind like we'd never seen Not knowing how life, for us, would charge bill we changed our paths in a moment of time A rush that would steal more than just hours With the crisp moon shinning that sun ray fine As we stood then walked on Capricorn's line I realised then as you played me this song It was her heart in tune with ours And in mine beating where you belong Somehow you knew, 6 years, id be wrong... Im there again with the sound of her Calling moon and moon to help me here But the echo fades and no ones there, And no ones there, for my pain to bare. Lets get on our knees and with me pray "Oooh Laura" we're here, and with you we'll stay Coz its just for our memories that lets us live through the days. Oh how i wish sometimes we could go north again Further this time than we've ever been but that golden moon has another plan For this joy fool hearted simple man... june 6th 2013 By GPvM-R
The facts that this song brought so many here from a show that put ALOT of transgender points in it, but didn’t make the whole show about it.. and now millions are here listening to this song which is deeper than any of us could have imagined ..... I am not transgender or anything but I have severe bipolar depression and anxiety and this song means everything to me. I play it thru my panic attacks or crying moments... and I’m good by the end man. God bless all.this song could mean anything to anyone. That’s what’s so beautiful....
Saw her last night opening for Depeche Mode in Montreal. She is really good. Fans didn't appreciate her much. I blame the acoustics. She truly has a beautiful voice.

Pakistaneee... has some precious sides beyond the clichés i suppose... unfortunately they're a minority to observe the ruby ruby light thru the (sometimes) confuse local crowd
Me too
Just the emotional expression of the transgendered dancer; of a silent pain; of being used to being left out, only to be welcomed with open arms, made me tear up.
I thought it was about Laura Palmer?
I thought it was about Laura Albert!
Malchik I LOVED HER.
Natasha said it's about "all Laura's"
"You're the train that crashed my heart
you're the glitter in the dark..."
But we also know, that we need it, because it´s the only think, which can save us. It´s our glitter in the dark and it gives us a hope...
This song is beautiful. Her voice is crazy beautiful. This is just perfection
Bea Smith ♥
The old man in this video is so powerful. Thank you for this song and video. I love it.
Heartbreakingly beautiful xxx
I can picture this in David Bowie's voice. I would have loved to hear him make a cover of this beautiful song.
Wow. Great shout
I agree with you bro
it's so interesting that you 'picture' Bowie's voice - I love that
*TOO LATE*
RIP =(
RIP to our Queen Bea Smith ❤️❤️😭😪
Bea’s more than a superstar ❤️😢
😭
That’s me
🌌♋️❤️
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
When Bea died, this song put everything in motion. I started crying like a baby.
I just can't believe it's been 8 years. Feels like this came out yesterday. So beautiful.
My sister and mom passed away within 5 weeks of each other..this song has helped me grieve...
This is such a beautiful, perfect song
Gives me goosebumps everywhere and every time. I am in love with this amazing price of art.
This is the prettiest song I have heard in a long time.
Agreed :)
Ughhhh. The feels.
Gosh, i agree. Ugghhh. the feels are too much.
Thank you for sharing and sending peace, light and positivity to all.
learned this song from watching Wentworth on Netflix. Great song & I'm surprised that hasn't gotten popularity. Well, I love this gem & won't lose it.
David Benjamin every time I here this i think of bea smith
I LOVE THIS!! it makes you feel like she's hugging u.
QUEEN Bea , you were more than a superstar 💔💔
My name is Laura and this song touched my soul deeply ❤❤❤
Wentworth has showed me so much good music i would never of knew about..love this 👌🏽
The show bout to come back on in I still miss you so much I love you so much Queen 👑 Bea I’m still crying I love you Queen Bea 😥😥😓😓😢😢😔😣😞
I can't stop coming back to this, it's my go to song after a tough week.
Just out of curiosity, is it because it reminds you of a Laura?
RIP Queen Bea. The show isn't the same without you, you deserve better. I love you to the moon and back
this is one of the most beautiful heartbreaking songs.
We drove north to a place we'd never been
The full moon ahead over the golden hill
The sun setting behind like we'd never seen
Not knowing how life, for us, would charge bill
we changed our paths in a moment of time
A rush that would steal more than just hours
With the crisp moon shinning that sun ray fine
As we stood then walked on Capricorn's line
I realised then as you played me this song
It was her heart in tune with ours
And in mine beating where you belong
Somehow you knew, 6 years, id be wrong...
Im there again with the sound of her
Calling moon and moon
to help me here
But the echo fades and no ones there,
And no ones there, for my pain to bare.
Lets get on our knees and with me pray
"Oooh Laura" we're here, and with you we'll stay
Coz its just for our memories
that lets us live through the days.
Oh how i wish sometimes we could go north again
Further this time than we've ever been
but that golden moon has another plan
For this joy fool hearted simple man...

Weird, my tears just stream. Totally out of my control. Every time.
The video is so heartbreaking, sincere and poetic. And I love the references to the RHPS :)
The facts that this song brought so many here from a show that put ALOT of transgender points in it, but didn’t make the whole show about it.. and now millions are here listening to this song which is deeper than any of us could have imagined
..... I am not transgender or anything but I have severe bipolar depression and anxiety and this song means everything to me. I play it thru my panic attacks or crying moments... and I’m good by the end man. God bless all.this song could mean anything to anyone. That’s what’s so beautiful....
Rip Bea Smith from Wentworth I cried when this song played 😢💔😔
RIP SHE WAS MY FAVORITE CHARACTER!
Saw her last night opening for Depeche Mode in Montreal. She is really good. Fans didn't appreciate her much. I blame the acoustics. She truly has a beautiful voice.
This absolutely left me in tears it still does Wentworth is one amazing show tackling storylines with such emotion and tackling them very well I've watched Wentworth 6 times now and still cried Especially when inmates find out she died and their reaction and when Franky tells allie
Omg me too wentwworth is best show ever I cry everytime
@@janeanrice2975 Wentworth is my best show I've ever watched and better than any show there is also have u watched bondi rescue
Dani Bourne what’s bondie rescure
@@janeanrice2975 its about lifeguards on bondi beach Australia saving lives every day and day to day things they face its not just rescues they deal with theives bluebottle stings shark sightings body retrievals and drownings you can watch it on you tube
Dani Bourne ok thanks I’ll check it out another really good show on Netflix is how to get away with murder and also locked up buts it’s subtitled in Spanish but it’s addicting like wentworth but more gory
Very cool the mirror trick where you don't see yourself while dancing with Natasha, I always believe it and I adore this video and song.
I came here from Wentworth months or even a year ago. But now.. I lost my best friend, my brother from another mother, and im in the feels rn and this song is taking my feelers to a whole 'nother level. Thank you Bat for Lashes for such an amazing song 💜
