When you have incompetent people with no oversight and no chain of command, this is what happens. Doesn’t matter if it’s a big city or small town. There needs to be oversight and a chain of command to be followed.
I have no idea why this came up in my feed, but my opinion is they don't want to give up their positions because then the paper trail will be visible to the new people and then they might go to jail. I'm sure there are some generators and other "missing equipment" that are at some of their homes.
The people who live in the community will be the ones who suffer in case of fire or medical aid. Walking away is easy, get to the truth and let the law take care of it, but try to support the community members by being there for them, the citizens they serve.
