Had 2011 gsxr 600, traded in for 2014 gsxr 1000. Sold it 2 summers ago then after my son MotoTSJ got a bike was missing it. Since i just turned 50 figured im not gerring younger lets get another 1 one last time.
Don't waste the money on 91 for this bike, please. All the maps and the entire powertrain was designed to work with 87. The power "gain" from putting 91 you won't even feel, if you think you feel something it is just a placebo. Multiple motorcycle dyno tuners have talked about this. Only reason to put 91 in the ninja 500 is if you have a custom tune designed to run on 91.
I heard ethanol free is the way to go tho, so I’ve been doing that. Thankfully the gas station that’s right next me has my 87 E Free. 91 is only good on 650cc or higher? Or whatever the manufacturer recommends?

I heard great things about GSXR bikes! My buddy has an 06 600CC one and it’s FAST. Can’t imagine a brand new one!

I normally put 87 ethanol free in it. That gas station only had 91 unfortunately. Thanks tho!

@@MotoTSJ I would always go with what the manufacturer recommends, unless you have a custom tune. Then I would use whatever the tune was designed for.
