Among these, the 50s Standard would be my pick 100%. The Classic would be 2nd as it's quite a bit cheaper, looks great and has the extra tonal options. Looks like a better 60s version in my opinion. But 50s Goldtop with P90s is the only LP I'd buy personally, for the kind of music that I play.

Really well done. Fantastic tone, fantastic playing. You really do these proper justice and milk everything a rock and roller would do with them (though I have a feeling that you're capable of quite a few styles!)
I love the 'dry Marshall' tone you dialed in. I got a 60's Standard 6/19. Before that, I looked for a new Les Paul for 20 years and finally settled for PRS Singlecuts, but they never scratched my itch. Since the Les Paul purchase, I've added an SG '61 Standard and a Les Paul DC Special. Love them all - though the new SG needed fretwork done (dead spots) which kind of disappointed me, but my tech will get it right in no time.
    Thanks for a great vid!

With the difficulty involved in putting your hands on higher-end guitars right now to personally evaluate, it’s helpful having a skilled presenter talk about the variation in features. One quick question for point of clarification. Is the neck on the Slash model the same as the Les Paul Standard 50s model?

Beyond happy with my 60’s standard. I play both clean and high gain. Now my clean isn’t completely a true clean because I have a Marshall dsl20cr so it’s a clean gain. But you can turn the gain down, volume up, use your guitars knobs to get the desired tone, then between my drive and compressor pedals I can boost the volume. I know it’s a lot to get desired tones but you have a ton of range. Also once you switch over to channel 2 it’s absolutely glorious. Gives all the old school rock tones you desire. I love the 50’s especially for the fatter tone. But it doesn’t fit my playing style and I prefer Grover tuners and a thinner neck profile.

The new 60's is the perfect storm for me - non-weight relief, Grover tuners, thinner neck, Alnico 5 pickups with unbalanced coils and a nitro finish. I've bought two of them (an Iced Tea and an Unburst - btw the unburst looks better on the internet, the iced tea looks better in person). All I did was swap out the awful truss rod cover that says "Standard" on it with a blank one, and put the non-reflector top hat knobs on (like the 50's one). Literally the perfect guitars. I love them to no end.

Gibson are reissuing the 1970 Les Paul Deluxe with mini-Humbuckers in March 2021. Colours are Cherry or a Goldtop, and both available in left-handed and right-handed orientation.

Splendid watchable and informative video with superb playing. My own choice would be the Classic - I though the extra sounds were splendid. Plus I prefer a plain-topped Les Paul, strange man that I am ...

I ended up getting a 60s standard in bourbon burst. I kinda like fat necks but it just felt easier to play for longer on the 60s and something about the feel and tone and the beautiful top on this particular one sold me hard. I fell in love for sure.

Killer playing and demo! In the old days (mid '90's), the "Classic" model had ugly greenish fret markers, super high output uncovered 498/490 pickups, and a '1960' engraved on the pickguard. It was the only way to get a slim taper neck though.

I got the LP Special a year ago, and it's just a monster guitar.
Right now I recently got an Eastman SB59, waiting for it. Really looking forward to it.
But from the video it's the Standard 50's. Has the perfect neck profile and love the BB 1 & 2. But for the money, the Gibson LP Special and Eastman can't be beat.
