There is an interview out there somewhere where Heenan talks about RR and the balls thing. HE said that he was climbing over a chain link fence at a hotel to go to the gas station across the street and caught his ball sac on the sharp part that sticks out. Heenan's story sounds more legit compared to all the stories surrounding this through the years.
Ok. Stand corrected. It was Black Bart on Rick Rude (type that in search). You all make your own conclusions. I know it was a different time but could be part of the tall tale. God bless.
Greg Valentine actually said in an interview that he was the reason that Rude had a testicle injury due to an accident while they were wresting together. I tend to believe his story the most as it sounds more reasonable and why would he lie about that? Apparently the same thing happened to Owen Hart too. Source: ua-cam.com/video/vG0u6HI2SWM/v-deo.html
I still am piecing together the rumor Honky Tonk Man basically started about Rude's death and the whole penis thing, etc. I still think a lot of what Honky Tonk said was just him twisting various stories about Rude. Rude had a scrotum injury after a match with Greg Valentine early on in his career. A little before Rude's death (maybe due to the same injury sustained by Greg), Rude thought he had testicular cancer which actually turned out to be spermatocele.
I think I can explain the rumors of him committing suicide because he lost his penis. At the time of his death, Rude had just finished working as Kurt Hennig's manager--so although Kurt is known as a ribber, he would have been closest with Rude at this time, so the story has some merit. Rude apparently was thought to have testicular cancer, which turned out to be a cyst-like condition known as spermatocele. It can be treated with medication, but occasionally surgery is needed, which can be risky. This information is from his wikipedia page, but there are no references. However, this seems pretty realistic and would explain these stories. So it's certainly possible that he did indeed have an infection in his testes after undergoing surgery on them to treat spermatocele, although I have no idea if there is any realistic chance of getting them amputated--but the surgery can sometimes lead to infertility. But I think that's largely unrelated to the fact that Rick was a drug addict his whole professional life and he ended up the same way many in his generation did, with or without his balls.
I am just now seeing your comment here, but my comment I just posted right before reading your's goes as follows: "I still am piecing together the rumor Honky Tonk Man basically started about Rude's death and the whole penis thing, etc. I still think a lot of what Honky Tonk said was just him twisting various stories about Rude. Rude had a scrotum injury after a match with Greg Valentine early on in his career. A little before Rude's death (maybe due to the same injury sustained by Greg), Rude thought he had testicular cancer which actually turned out to be spermatocele." ...So yeah, I too have to vouch for what you said here. It isn't guaranteed that the injury from Greg to Rude's scrotum was the actual cause behind the issues later on in Rude's life, but just a theory. I heard injuries down there can cause such things to occur.
His son was killed a few blocks near their family home in Atlanta, GA on his motor cycle. A woman pulled out in front of him in her car. I dont think bezerker knows that Rick Rude’s dad was a golden glove boxer, and rick rude definitely had hands. He wasn’t just a big meat head, he actually knew how to fight. He could take on two or three guys at once no problem, and guys just as big as him or bigger according to ric flair. Hawk was definitely a tough guy before he contracted hepatitis. He was considered the toughest guy in his high school and you can tell he knew how to fight from the brawl for all with droz…..but again that was post hepatitis. RIP to both guys, and thanks for the memories❤
Hi nord, we used to play jr high football together. At robbinsdale jr. I was the center and a linebacker. And I think you played both sides too. Because the team was so bad. Lol.. I'm sure Haku was a very tough dude, but no way was he as tough as severn, shamrock, lesnar or angle. Mma fighters and world class wrestlers would make quick work of him.
I believe it was a suicide, Rude wanted to wrestle, but because Eric Bischoff wouldn't pay the Lloyd's of London, leaving him to be a manager, and thus he killed himself due to depression from it.
I believe it was suicide also but I have heard more evidence of it linked to erectile dysfunction due to 1: Injury, 2: cancer, 3: drug use. To lose the use of your penis at 40 would be devastating for a ladies man like him.
The fact that Rick Rude would take his own life makes me wonder why? The reason I ask is because he always outside of the ring claimed to be a family man. Having a girlfriend tells me he's not the family man he claimed to be. I loved watching him. Wish he hadn't died.
This is all hearsay we won't know till the Last Day....but he was possibly going to lose his penis. What man could take that? God rest Rudes soul. I know he believed in Christ deeply. And Christ's forgiveness can overcome anything
