@@philiplubduck6107 well no shit Sherlock, there ain't place for hot air to go out and fresh one being sucked in to cool it off
Even table isn't best option, any flat surface basically isn't good pic if you got mid range laptop with intel i5 or ryzen 5 with rtx 3060
Best thing you can do is to get some holder or cooling pad to elevate laptop from surface and allow flow of air. When I have it the way I do, it have specific peak temps depending on games I play, AC black flag is between 45 and 60, CS:GO is between 60 and 70, kingdome come deliverance have peak temp around 75 (it goes usually around 72-73) and watch dogs just sits on my desktop since upon literal launching of game and being in main menu it have 80 XD
Also Fallout 4 which is maxed out got around 70
You can get some decent cooling if you know how to set up your laptop correctly for efficient air flow and you take good care of it aaand having thermal paste reapplied can do trick as well

I've also seen gaming laptops have really garbage thermal paste too. My gaming laptop was thermal throttling in windows because of the thermal paste being completely dry after only 2 years of use. Swapping to a quality thermal paste sent my idle temps from 80-90C to 50-60C

To be fair… they design these laptops with crazy amount of screws and hidden screens with special tape you have to carefully pull out.
Basically weren’t designed to be user friendly and just “open up”.

Part of it is that fabric mesh, it doesn't serve a purpose other then making laptops over heat, I removed mine on my older gaming laptop for better thermals, and no clogging, sure you have to clean it more often, but not as much different in timing of cleaning my desktop.

I really enjoy these simpler style of shorts, it's a bit controversial but i prefer these more than the usual style of offhanded jokes and jabs at the viewer, those seem a bit more, try hard. Just gets to the point and makes it easy to know what the problem is and what happened.

you can't really blame the average user though, many don't bother to clean their laptops in fear of breaking something, which often happens since the way they're built has been very unfriendly to end users.

Some machines aren't easy to open up but if it is go for it for sure but what you can do to prevent build up from building more quickly is keeping it on a clean desk or surface and avoid the bed it can overheat and collect a lot of junk in the fans especially if you own pets

It can be difficult to explain to someone unless they see it, most people aren’t going to want to remove the back panel and deal with exposed components. Same kind of thing with consoles. If there was a more streamlined way to get it done it wouldn’t be such an issue

And this is also why right to repair and serviceable products needs to be a thing. If the customer is going to be afraid that the warranty will be void by sending to anyone other than an authorized service center or worse, do it themselves when they know how to do it, it will never get maintained. Cars used to be the same way, if you didn't take it to the dealer while a warranty was in effect they would void it over something as simple as an oil change.

Imo they should all be like old clevos, 1 switch and you remove the battery and bottom cover and have access to everything.
If you just have a switch to pull to clean the pc people would do it a lot more methinks
