Riverside was the most amazing roadcourse in the whole USA! I miss it dearly and I´m glad I can at least experience it in Racing Simulators.
Also thank you very much for uploading all those important races of Indycar, CART and Formula 1 for over ten years now! Your channel deserves much more attention!
Everytime I watch those races I´m back in the summer in my parents garden!
My father brought the huge and heavy TV in the garden with insanely long cables and were having a barbecue while watching the race, often our neighbors also came over and we watched it together and enjoyed great food amazing summer days!
Good Lord how I miss those days, I really wanna recreate it this summer, unfortunately the races totally lost their magic..
I remember my father jumping up and shouting at the TV in excitement, thats how great the races and cars where back then.
Man those where such amazing times! :)
Thanks again for all the great uploads!

Great post! The attrition rate during this era was totally unacceptable! It really hurt the sport in my opinion. The fastest guy rarely won the race in these days. Especially the road courses. The clutch and gearboxes didn't get reliable until they copied motorcycle style components. Just had to add that.

And that's exactly why that era was kinder to guys like Mears, Big Al, and Bobby Rahal. They raced with more consideration of the equipment. But that made it entertaining because guys like Mario and Michael and a few others would go full bore every lap. The intrigue was seeing how the two schools of thought would pan out.
