MS wins the desirability competition...owned a SDGT gen 1, loved it but wanted something more spacious and comfortable so bought a MS 1260, great bike but last year I swapped it for a KTM 1290 SA-S, which I love. Most of my miles are touring so suits me better for that. Still very capable in the bends too.
Great review comparison m8. On my SDGT I upgraded and lowered the bikes springs front and back with Hyperpro, also steering damper Hyperpro RSC improves matters at the front end. Power and torque ive had mines tuned on the dyno with BHP UK and makes a significant difference. I guess I've got the SDGT as good as I can get it, but I agree the Ducatic Multistrada PP has the better build quality, suspension, the V4 attraction (I also have a 2023 Aprilia Tuono 1100 V4 Factory LOL) & nice electronic dash and Radar etc Its a hard one, the main issue with the PP for me was the price, nearly bought one last year but was £26k demonstrator fully loaded including luggage and decided in the end not to and ended up with the Aprilia Tuono as my 2nd bike and hanging onto the SDGT. Probably going to wait the rest of this year and see if KTM finally come out with a new SDGT with the latest shift cam engine and will need to be the latest gizmos including radar & blind spot detection etc. If that doesnt work out then it will come down to a new Super Adventure also due to come out or the Pikes Peak but for now the SDGT im more than happy with BTW the Super Adventure you were comparing to, stock they are much heavier and detuned to 160bhp, 138NM torque compared to SDGT
Thanks for the reply pal. I didnt talk about the added features of thePP such as radar etc as wanted to focus on the riding experience only. I do think the ohlins is superb and does give the ride quality the edge over the GT but it's a personal view I suppose.
Nice video Steve and I think you are right there is so little real world difference between these two bikes I’m on my second super duke Gt I’ve had a 2016 model and I have 2021 gen 2 at present a total of 50, 000 miles and have been pretty faultless (horn switch on the one rear shock on the other change under warranty no problem) just comes down to personal taste what you use them for. I do touring 2 up scratching and the odd track day so the Gt really suite me 😁👍👍
@@stevesherlockrides then its ktm that gives extra warranty currently because i just bought a SAS and got 48months warranty without paying extra and no finance

Again another great bike. I'm not one for bike bashing as you can tell

The 2 yr KTM warranty vs 4 yrs on the PP are also a factor
@@stevesherlockrides Ktm gives 4yr now
Only if you finance through them.though

In the UK my mate had to use KTM finance to get the 4 yr warranty. Ducatis MSs all have 4 yr as standard
