Full socialist Means Testing is another option. They probably won’t touch lowest income recipients. All 6 will be needed within 20 years assuming debt grows to 50 trillion and debt service consumes 1/3 of entire budget. We are in a debt spiral with no way out unless government departments are cut dramatically. I may choose to take it early depending on if next administration lets debt continue to grow.
Folks, it's a simple fact the Social Security "Trust Fund" does not contain any actual money. Every cent purportedly paid out from the fund, is in simple truth obtained in new taxes or borrowing. There is ongoing babble about the fund running out of money. If the numbers in the account go to zero, what does it mean to the source of money to make Social Security payments? NO CHANGE.
So what's the point here as I continually read articles or hear that social security is running out of money. We all know this isn't true. Even those who make the statement don't truly believe it. You are making similar comments as everyone else. So quit repeating the same solutions. I am so tired of hearing it. Tell congress to act sooner then later.
