The public transportation in Bellingham is great. Using the bus system is very easy, especially when you use Google maps along with it. There is also a great network of trails for both bicycling and walking all throughout the city. You can pretty much get anywhere in Bellingham within 15 minutes.
You showed rabbit field farm and foothills farm when you mentioned broad leaf. And Bellingham has turned into a miserable place to live since I moved here almost 30years ago. Its exhorbitantly overpriced, all the beautiful views are getting cancelled by tons of huge apartment complexes, construction never stops along with all the noise and traffic issues it causes, the homeless problem is extreme, trash, filth & graffiti is rampant downtown and all over, the tourist vibe has replaced the quiet charm that used to exist and it's so crowded now that I don't enjoy the parks or trails anymore. Aggressive bikers and outdoor enthusiasts act like they own the woods, trails and beaches. I'm planning to move.
