The Chinese knock off is very good & a lot cheaper. It includes 4 retractable feet on the base so you don't need to use the screws if you want to take a quick shot. 1/4 20 comes standard so you don't need an adapter.

Yeah I've been looking at them and will likely get one off AliExpress. The price of the Platypod is insane here in the UK.
